Celeste just shook her head, "You don't really need to thank me, Roldan. I am glad you asked me out, it has been a lovely evening," she told him softly as clean plates for the dessert were placed in front of them. It had been a while since Celeste had been on a proper date, or in the company of someone she found both engaging and attractive, and who she was definitely wanting to spend more time with. She also had the feeling that he was definitely worth getting to know, worth her time and maybe, worthy of more... something which made her blush even at the thought.

"I hope we can do it again sometime soon," she confessed as she leaned forward a bit, "Maybe you could take me out flying again soon? Perhaps, make an afternoon of it?" she suggested lightly, not sure if he'd be up for something like that or not.

Roldan smiled dreamily at Celeste as she talked. He was honestly having a great time tonight. He wanted to move forward but was simultaneously afraid. He thought back to Narraine. How they had rushed headlong into marriage and how they had crashed and burned so hard. Hopefully he and Celeste wouldn't rush.

The dessert came out and Roldan sat back to let the waiter do his job. He didn't have much of a sweet tooth, but he was sure that this would be delicious. "I'd love to go flying with you sometime. If you'd be alright with it, there's this little mountain on one of the Islets. Not the one with the detention center. But one that I like going to when I..."

He paused, a little embarrassed. But he cracked a small grin and took a bite of his dessert. "I like going up there and looking out at the island and just being a dragon."

Celeste couldn't help but admire Roldan, she loved that he seemed so comfortable with who he was. She also loved the fact that he enjoyed his dragon form and wasn't afraid to admit that he did either.

Sitting up properly, letting the waiter serve her, Celeste thanked him as he moved away. "The mountain sounds like a special place for you," she remarked warmly as she picked up her dessert fork, "Do you go there often?" she enquired, thinking then of Roldan's dragon form and of how majestic he had seemed to her.

"Really mostly when I need the confidence boost," he said with a laugh. His dessert was almost gone at this point. It was good, even without him having a particular care for sweets. He set his fork down to force himself to slow down and looked around as the lighting changed.

Musicians came out to the center of the room, playing soft tunes on string instruments. It wasn't dancing music, but it was beautiful and romantic. Roldan feigned surprise, pretending he absolutely had not paid the restaurant to do a special show just for the night he and Celeste went on their date. "Oh that's nice, huh?" He smiled back over at Celeste as the music filled the open air.

As she took a second to last bite of her dessert - which was as expected, delicious - Celeste suddenly heard soft romantic music start playing. Turning to look at the musician as they struck up a song that she knew well, she glanced at Roldan, smiled and agreed whole-heartedly.

"They are quite amazing," Celeste admitted wistfully as she listened to them play. "They remind me of a very nice and very romantic restaurant near the Seine," she told Roldan. "I've only been there once, and I remember the date was truly awful, but the food and the atmosphere was quite simply, tres formidable," she stated, slipping in french unknowingly as she smiled at Roldan totally taken by how amazing he was and how nice the evening had been so far.

"That's unfortunate. Bad dates and all that." Roldan's mouth twitched a bit into a sympathetic gesture. Leaning back, he let a small smirk slide across his face. "What about this one?"

The music played for a bit longer before fading out. When it did, Roldan slowly stood and offered Celeste his hand with a smile. "Are you ready? We have one more quick stop before I drop you off at home."

"This date has been truly amazing," Celeste admitted as she glanced over at Roldan and smiled happily. "Good food, great atmosphere, and even better company, what more can a girl ask for?" she stated.

"Of course," Celeste remarked, nodding as she grabbed her purse and shawl before taking Roldan's hand and standing up from the table. "One more stop?" she asked, intrigued by this, as she let him lead her out of the restaurant, wondering what more he had planned. The date was, in her mind, perfect and couldn't see it being any better than it already had been.

Roldan smiled and took Celeste by the hand, stopping on their way out to thank the waiter and ask him to thank the kitchen staff for the delicious food as well. He had already set up to pay back when he made the reservations so he didn't have to stop for any of that. And a generous gratuity left as well, because this was important to him.

On their way out the door, Roldan gave Celeste a sly smile. "Well, less a stop, more a pause. I hope you don't mind," he added the last bit once they were outside, his mind already made up about what he was going to do.

Once they were free of the building, Celeste would notice that Marduk was not there to meet them. Instead Roldan used the momentary pause to pick her up in a classic bridal carry as a massive pair of wings pushed free of his shoulderblades and extended wide behind him.

"The city is gorgeous from the sky at night. I wanted you to see."

Celeste didn't actually notice that they hadn't stopped to settle the dinner. She was too focused on Roldan. She loved the way he treated others, it said a lot to her. She had seen or been around too many wealthy people that forgot about those around them. He obviously wasn't like that, and she admired that about him. In fact, she hadn't even known he had money or came from money despite the last name.

Once they were outside, Celeste looked for the car, which wasn't parked out front. Furrowing her brown, she was about to turn around see if maybe there was a valet service, when suddenly she found herself being carried, cradled safely against Roldan's chest.

Looking up at him, wide-eyed and surprised at this, Celeste felt herself almost immediately relaxing against him, happy, as she placed an arm around his neck. "You certainly know how to sweep a girl off her feet, don't you?" she laughed softly, then almost without thinking, Celeste lifted herself up a bit and placed a small kiss on Roldan's cheek.

"You are quite amazing, thank you, and I'd love to see the city from up above with you," she said as she settled back down in his arms.

"I mean, this is what we do. Carry off beautiful women. Grandpa used to say 'is it really kidnapping if she falls in love with you first?'" Roldan flashed a grin as Celeste leaned up to kiss him on the cheek. He knew she'd enjoy this, which was why he had saved it for last.

Without another word, Roldan leapt high into the air with a sudden downward push of his wings. The two of them shot high into the night air, the cold wind biting at them contrasting with the gentle warmth Roldan himself was giving off.

Once they were you high enough, he changed to slow, gentle flaps to keep them in place. The city skyline was alight like a million tiny candles and the cars below were a thousand tiny fireflies zooming around along the ground. The moon was massive from up here, taking up a large portion of the sky it seemed.

Roldan looked at Celeste, smiling at her and gaguing her reaction to all of this. "It's nice, right? This is the view I get to see when I'm out on patrol late at night, heading to my beat."
