December 2017 Announcements.
Let it snow!
Survey
For those who haven't seen it yet, we've been running a series of surveys (and a discussion round table) on canon ICC, medals, and spotlights! You can see all the information here. Currently we're running the round two survey to get final results, and based on those we're going to start implementing changes. We'll post the results of the survey and changes made as a result in the linked thread, but we'll mention them again in the mid-month announcements when everything should be finalized.
Spotlights will be delayed this month. You can expect the nomination thread to go up on the fifth, along with edits to the rules and the Complete Guide to Contests thread, reflecting the changes.
Medals will get announced on the 15th, along with Canon ICC.
Events
Continuing from November, the Interdimensional Creatures plot continues. You can expect to see it popping up throughout, but as threads finish up you can expect to see more information being updated as characters learn things and information disseminates!
The ICC tree lighting ceremony is live from December 1st until December 3rd 11:59 PM site time. Come, hang your decorations on the tree in celebration of Yule or have a cup of hot chocolate or cider as you bundle around Oceanic Park as the first lights of the season are brought to life. You can read all about the tree lighting ceremony here.
If you'd rather find ways to privately RP with people out of your circle and make new friends, look no further than the Secret Santa Sign-ups where you can sign up a maximum of three of your characters to exchange gifts with someone else who is randomly selected!
Contests and Spotlights
This month is light on contests but heavy on events. This year (and next year) we have our New Years Post Spree which runs from New Years Eve to New Years Day.
Our AU Contest also went great, with plenty of excellent entries! Our winner was @Schrodinger's Cat's Marcus Whiskers, who was a tiny mouse with an ink stain on him! You can read more in his entry, and congratulations Schrodinger!
Now, onto our spotlight winners:
Member Spotlight: This month's member spotlight goes to @WorldDevourer! WD has been extremely active as of late, and has branched out into several new characters, including a giant mass of sentient bugs and a fae that just can't cut anyone some slack. WD's always active in the cbox and is a constant presence in the ICC, and we look forward to seeing more from them!
Character Spotlight: Seregaza "Gaza" is a fairly new character of Boop's, the result of her getting inspiration to fulfill her own wanted ad. A god of pickpockets and buried treasure, Gaza is basically a squirrel in human form. Adorable and earnest, they get into a ton of shenanigans because "if people didn't want you to take things, why would they put them in pockets?"
Plot Spotlight: This month's plot spotlight is Baaaa-d Relationship, a mature plotline put together by Nikki, and run to conclusion through multiple threads. This spotlight deals with a heavy topic, but does so in a respectful and well thought out manner. You can see a full timeline of all involved threads here, but be aware of the warnings!
