Lance smiled. "Ill be sure to take you up on that, Alexander. And don't worry, I won't lose her." His smile turned to her as Alex disappeared. Now he noticed more the odd feel of her skin, but opted not to question it, thinking it rude to pry. Her way of speaking was another question, but he found it kinda... cute. "Well, Alexander did say to head back to the city, and... I'm probably not making it to class today... God, I can't believe I slept the day away..."
"Lance is a student? What grade does Lance take?" Cecily tugged him along gently to start leading the way back. She seemed confident, but that was just because she wasn't worried about getting lost though she wasn't entirely sure of the way back. He probably shouldn't let her lead.
"This one knows where the academy is when they get back to the city. It can take him there if that is where Lance lives?"
Lance followed along without question. She seemed confidant, so he let her lead him. "Yeah, Lance is... I mean I am a sophomore in highschool. I live in a dorm on campus." He told her as they walked. "What about you, Cecily? Does the fair maiden go to the academy as well?" He asked, fearing she would take it as a lame pickup line the moment the words left his lips. Maybe he shouldn't try to weave old terms into his speech. He's always bad at it.
Cecily laughed mildly at being called a fair maiden. She had never been called such a thing, and it was a funny way of him to speak. She liked it. "No. This one does not go to school. It has never gone to the place of learning. Does Lance think places like that are fun?"
Yup, they were definitely going further into the forest.
Lance smiled. She didn't take it wrong... probably. "Normal ones, no, but this place is always fun." He told her. "So if you never went to school... What brings you to the island? Do you just live in the city?" He wouldn't notice where they were going for a bit longer yet. And even then, he wouldn't question her on it. Maybe... a shortcut?
"This one came to the island for its Keepers," she said this like he would know what it was. Doll Girl stopped and looked around, eyes intense as she scanned the forest. "And now it is lost." She saw something off in the distance -- a beautiful blue flower -- and moved to it.
"Keepers?" He questioned. "What does tha--" He blinked a few times in confusion. She said they were lost, then instantly headed somewhere with him in tow. He sighed and almost laughed, simply going with it. He was... mostly sure he could find their way home himself anyway.
"Yes! Keeper." Cecily's attention was immediately drawn away from the flower. "He is the nicest man, this one's Keeper. He protects her and is kind to her. Would Lance like to meet her Keeper?" Doll Girl cocked her head a little too much, putting it at an odd angle.
That... sounds like a father. Lance thought from her description of this 'keeper' person. Part of her strange speech maybe? "Sure, Cecily. I'd love to." He agreed with a smile. His smile faltered when a thought hit. "Wait... We're lost, right?"
