"Alright." Shirigana picked up two bags of it and set them in the shopping cart. "Now for the litterbox... Ah!" He picked up a box. "This one cleans itself!" He put it into the shopping cart next to the cat food. "I was gonna getcha a scratchin' post, too."

Fluffy hopped in place excitedly. She ran to a bag of kitty litter and put her front paws on it. Within a minute she had it on the ground and ready to push over to the cart. Unfortunately, it somehow burst open and kitty litter spread all over the aisle.

A janitor hurried over, startled by the noise. "Sorry. It was my fault. I went ta pick it up but I guess it was a bit heavier than I thought. I'll pay for it." The janitor sighed before getting to work. Shirigana lifted an identical bag of kitty litter and placed it in the cart. He picked up a large scratching post, grinned, and placed it on top of the cart. "That's about it... We have a few gallons of milk at home." He wheeled the cart to the casheer, checking out.

Fluffy marveled at how he too the blame and didn't get angry at her. Defying all the warnings her friend used to tell her, she felt herself beginning to think of him as a friend.

After paying for his purchases as well as the spilled cat food, Shirigana took the bags and tied them to his bag. Combined, they were extremely heavy, but he still carried them. "Come along, Fluffy." He held the door open for her before leaving. He strolled down the sidewalk, seeming much lighter than he was.

Fluffy walked out of the store with her head held as high as she could have it. Not because she was proud of herself for doing anything, for she had made a huge mess in the aisle. But because her friend was a good person and she felt proud to walk alongside him. "Home now?"

Shirigana grinned. "Yes ma'am." He answered, turning right. It wasn't far; Soon Shirigana opened the door for his little friend before going in himself, where an employee offered to carry his bags. "No thanks! I'll take care of em!" He stepped into the elevator, holding it open for Fluffy. The sun was now much lower in the sky than it was before.

As the doors to the elevator closed in front of her, Fluffy wondered what time it was. It had been some time in the afternoon when she had first gone to the lake. But that had been hours before. Looking around, she saw there was no clock on any of the four walls and glared at them all. "Stupid walls," she muttered.

The doors opened again and Shirigana steped out. The elevator itself seemed relieved to not carry him and the heavy bags any longer. Shirigana opened his door and gently placed the bags next to the opening. He retrieved a nice bowl to use as a food dish and poured a scoop of cat food in. Using another bowl for her drink, he filled it with milk. "There ya go! Dinner's ready." Shirigana sat on the couch to watch TV while he ate a fresh sandwich he had warmed up.

Fluffy, as a cat, thought the food she was eating tasted delicious. But she wasn't sure that she would think the same thing as a human. Glancing over her shoulder at him, the human side of her wanted a sandwich like his. But instead of racing over and snatching the sandwich between her teeth like she felt like doing, Fluffy resumed eating the food her friend had kindly gotten for her.
