Erik was pretty tired off his power, yes he knew it made him special and yes he loved island. He felt like he belonged on the island. However the constant struggle with his power was what was killing him. It seemed to be all find and dandy, he could blend into the crowd of normal humans until his power went all wonky. How else was he supposed to explain the flickering lights, the cars that start themselves? Not to mention another letter returned unopened from his parents. He just wanted to shut his brain off. He had only taken something to take the edge off, only it never really stayed that way. He always had to go a little further, and it wasn't such a bad thing if he wasn't wandering the city.
He was teetering on the edge of an incredibly high and the point where he knew he was almost there. He could see clearly and he was still thinking, but his thoughts were starting to get hazy. That's what he wanted, for the constant grid map to go away. For the buzzing and static to become soft background noise. He was lost in his thought as he walked through the streets not even realizing he had turned down a dead ended alley. By then he had gotten to the point where he didn't really care. He pulled up a crate and set it a little ways from a girl he saw and sat down, pulling out his lighter. He just need a little more to reach that point of bliss mind numbing, euphoric bliss.
