Hiatus
Jacota felt a wave of relief wash over himself, when Ishvi didn't reject his touch. Jacota just wanted to help, in any way he could, and in this moment physical contact was the only thing that Jacota could think of. He was very bad with words and consoling. But at least he could do this. So he kept his hand on Ishvi's arm, not moving it, since it seemed to make Ishvi feel better. Jacota shifted a bit, so he was tad closer to Ishvi. It felt strange to be close to Ishvi in human form. His stomach churned.

Jacota's ears perked at Ishvi's words, and next he tilted his head a bit in confusion. Why wouldn't Jacota stand touching Ishvi? Ishvi was nice and gentle, and didn't think it was weird Jacota wanted to be dog more than a person. There were many reasons Jacota was okay with touching Ishvi. He didn't know which one to say, and thus stayed quiet for a minute. But then he spoke.
"Because I want to make you feel better, and you don't flinch away from me. There is no reason for me to not stand touching you."
Jacota hadn't said so many words in one sentence in a while, but somehow it felt easier to talk in human form. Jacota's tail swayed slowly from side to side as he kept his hand on Ishvi's arm. His hand was felt a bit tingly, and Jacota didn't realize his tail was starting to wag just the slightest bit.

Jacota's hand was an anchor in a way. Something solid other than himself, and it didn't hurt like holding his dagger. But it left Ishvi confused in other ways. He wasn't used to being close to people. He couldn't explain why he thought Jacota wouldn't want to touch him. Part of it was just being in nightmare form, but the other boy was half nightmare too. Even though the half-angel hated being a half-breed, he didn't think it was wrong for other people to be half. He didn't hate nightmares.

Ishvi gave a half-hearted shrug. It was even more difficult to talk when he had to filter everything through the phone, and he was having trouble figuring out his own thoughts. He didn't want to hurt Jacota either. He was falling because of the dark thoughts that weren't going away, or because he was giving in. Whatever it was, he wasn't healthy. "It helps."

Turning back to face the water, Ishvi was running out of things to say. He wanted to be quiet, but he didn't want to think. The closeness was making him tense up, very aware of Jacota's presence and not sure what to do next. "I think I shouldn't be out here. I don't want to hurt you."

For reasons Jacota didn't understand it was harder for him to detect how or what Ishvi was feeling in his human form. As Jacota carefully snuck glances at Ishvi he couldn't tell, if there were any shifts in his mood. It made Jacota feel restless but he stayed by Ishvi's side, especially since he admitted Jacota was helping. That made Jacota surprisingly happy and his tail wagged a bit. Jacota nodded and looked towards the water with the smallest hint of a smile on his face.
"I want to help."

Jacota could feel through his hand on Ishvi's arm that the man tensed up a bit and as he spoke Jacota wanted to whine. But he was able to stay quiet, and he carefully observed Ishvi. Why did he think he was going to hurt Jacota? Why did Ishvi so afraid? Jacota's ears pressed down and he curled his tail between him and Ishvi. It was almost touching Ishvi.
"I...don't want to leave you here...all alone. We could...leave together?"

Ishvi just nodded, suddenly feeling very tired. What he wanted to do right now was fly away, and he couldn't tell if the direction would be home or out over the sea. The water would be cold even for him. It turned his thoughts to drowning - no, he shouldn't be out here alone right now.

But he didn't want to walk in this form either. Have other people see him. Like this. Even though no one else seemed to be bothered, and he was just a shadow blending into the dark. So many decisions to make, stay or go. Nowhere was safe.

Ishvi looked at Jacota again. He still couldn't understand why the other boy hadn't left, but he didn't want to keep asking. Because he really wanted to be alone least of all these options. He typed, "Please" in answer before standing up, picking up the dagger, and turning his head to hide his wince from Jacota. Then he'd walk with the dog boy. Somewhere that wasn't here at least.
