Wei loved swing. He loved the excited feet and hip movements. Because of his small stature, and also probably because he hadn't quite hit puberty yet, the aggressive movements that came from the hip weren't hard for him. It was almost frightening how well he felt that he could emulate the hip motions that Swing was known for.

The act of being spun away and dancing at their full arms' length apart before coming back in and stepping back and forth so quickly it was a wonder they didn't step on any toes made a big smile come to Wei's face. Sure it was true that he could do some dances on his own, but really bombastic dances that required two people, that was something fun and special.

But the song wasn't infinite, and it eventually ended, with Wei taking a small step back and pretending to curtsy his thanks to his dance partner, barely able to keep a big goofy grin off his face.

"What next?"

Stefan floated a few steps back and gave Wei a bow, laughing.

"What next? Hmm, I don't know!" He started tapping his feet. "Tapdance?" Jazz hands. "Jazz dance?" He did a hand stand. "Break dance?" He flipped backwards and jumped back on his feet. "Hip hop? Should it be a dance? Do you want to run laps again or get a snack, oh man, I am actually literally starving, but you're the boss!"

Wei couldn't help but laugh when he saw how excited Stefan seemed to be. He was like that too sometimes, and he could understand now how some people could be made physically tired from dealing with him for an extended period of time.

Not that being around Stefan was tiring for him, they were more or less the same kind of person, so it was nice to finally see someone being as outgoing as him for once, instead of swanning about acting like a slave to the wheels of fate.

At the mention of being hungry, Wei ran over to his back pack and took out a bunch of bananas, offering them over to Stefan. "We can't dance on an empty stomach, you know!"

"Bananas!" he said excitedly, taking a couple from Wei. The tiny monkey child gave him bananas. He should've completely expected that, but he didn't, and the surprise made everything look way more amusing. "I haven't had fruit in so long. I think my blood's officially been replaced with cheetos and frozen yogurt. Now I'm a health nut and soon I'll be able to run 10k in five minutes."

He floated to a stack of chairs, sitting on the highest one. He kicked his feet idly as he looked at Wei.

He was so cool. He would look a hundred times better in a tux. "Hey, so, uh... I don't know if it's racist, I won't press further if it is, but can I ask you questions about monkey people?"

He remembered that back when he first came to the island, he made the active choice to not eat too many bananas around the other students. Wei remembered that he didn't want people to think he was just some kind of stereotypical monkey. He didn't want people to think negatively of him, to make jokes about the kind of things he liked to do or liked to eat, like climbing trees or eating inadvisable amounts of bananas.

But then he reached that point where he'd gone almost a month without a banana or wrapping his leg around a big tree, he realized that he didn't care if people thought of him as nothing more than a miserable pile of monkey. Having fun was more important to him than what people thought.

He looked up to Stefan as he said he had a few questions about Monkey People. Wei gave a sort of noncommittal shrug. "I don't mind answering questions."

Stefan nodded, thinking of how to rephrase his question to be more sensitive. He was thinking about monkey communities. Did it look like human cities? How would that even work? Were monkeys keeping secrets from humans all this time!? New things and new concepts fascinated him, but since they were things and concepts that weren't available on the internet, it was difficult to gauge what was acceptable to ask and what wasn't

He was a Roma boy, a nymph of the breezes, and an out bisexual. He was frequently teased by his peers with various slurs growing up, but he couldn't blame them too much, really. Mainstream media liked to popularize bad treatment to people that weren't straight, white and male. He didn't want to follow his classmates' lead by, like, accidentally calling Wei a slur. But he was still SO curious.

"Are there a lot of you? I lived in a forest most of my life and I've never seen monkey people. How do you guys live? Like, in houses? How different are monkey families from humans? If there are proper terms for these things, let me know."

Wei watched Stefan from the floor, opening his own banana and biting into it easily. It tasted really good, at least to him, and he considered himself to be a high-class connoisseur of bananas and banana flavored products. And he actually was, for the most part, a true connoisseur of the delicious sweetness of bananas. He could tell when there was a bad banana from miles away, much to the chagrin of the dining staff. Though, in his defense, he did make an effort not to make a scene of it.

He tilted his head when Stefan asked a bunch of questions all at once. He'd need a moment or two to think about it. Passing his banana over to his tail, which wrapped around the yellow fruit and brought it to his mouth when he wanted a bite, he folded his arms and entered deep thought.

First, were there a lot of monkey people like him? "Yeah, we're not exactly rare. There's different races of us depending on our closest pue-monkey relative." Personally, Wei had met a lot of Gorrila people, who tended to be nice on the whole, but also could be huge, hulking, raving douches.

"Normally we live in trees--similar to a human child's tree house--but bigger, to hold families." He took a bite of his banana. "I lived in a city though, so we just lives a little creaky hut."

Family? "Family... Well, in general one town of monkeys is a family, regardless of actual blood relation. At least, that's how it is in the mountains. In the city, A family is just blood relations and close friends that help out the blood family."

Rayn stepped into the room. "Yess people, she is here you're lucky to be in her presence." Rayn was extremely conceded and talked in third person. She walked over to take a seat somewhere because secretly her feet were killing her but Rayn felt as if it was her job to be a the epitome of perfection even though people thought f her as the complete opposite.

Stefan nodded as Wei talked. Everything he said was so interesting. He imagined grand monkey cities. He wondered if there were baboon people! He always thought baboons were cute. City monkey life, however, sounded a bit bad, and he couldn't imagine living in a creaky hut. He wanted to ask him a hundred other questions but a blue-haired girl entered the Ballroom, yelling about being in the presence of someone cool.

Stefan looked around, blinking. "Wait, who? Who's here?"

Was there a secret person inside the Ballroom all along? He flew up from his position and only found him, Wei and a blue-haired girl. "I don't think I've seen whoever she 'is', miss. But hey! Are you joining the Dance Club, too?"

Talking about home actually got Wei wondering about the family in the mountains he hadn't seen. Everything he knew about life in the towns in the mountains he'd gotten from his mom, but he'd always wanted to see it for himself.

That was when a girl, rather loudly, announced her presence.

Wei covered his ears as he looked up to her from the floor, saying something about her being here and and they were lucky to be in the presence of her. The only thought in his mind was who could 'her' possibly be referring to? He looked around and saw only himself and Stefan and the girl who'd just walked in, and no one in their right mind would refer to themselves as a her.

For a moment he thought she might have been talking about him, since he tended to wear the skirt from the female uniform--hey, when you had legs as furry as his, constricting pants were nothing but trouble--but he looked down and found that he was just wearing a loose pair of shorts.

So, no, not him.

"Yeah, I'm sorry... maybe you're looking for someone else?"
