Angelo had stayed late at the Rosales mansion, even after making the first phone call. He'd talked to several of the kids. And then he'd made even more phone calls.
Phone calls to Jack. To Enzo. To the station again, because he realized he'd left some info out. Then he'd gone home, promising to return in the morning.
He'd slept, and it had been good. A relief beyond all else, exhaustion taking hold.
He'd woken early, packed his things, stopped by the office to give the chief the utter basics--it would take too long otherwise--and then it was back to the mansion.
Angelo had a stack of paperwork in hand as he settled into the Rosales library, making himself available to whoever wanted to talk to him. The kids. The adults. Shay. There were people he hadn't even met who he might end up adopting, and Angelo couldn't quite sort out his feelings on the matter. He knew he should be nervous--it was a shitton of responsibility--but he didn't.
He felt sort of quiet inside, like the calm before the storm.
Maybe he was just too busy to be nervous.
