With the Rosales kids being adopted by Angelo, Caterina had made it clear that she would go where they go. She was an adult, and didn’t need to be ‘adopted’ per say—but they were her family, and she was not eager to separate any time soon.
Of course, this now presented the awkward situation that Angelo and Caterina had previously met in speed dating, of all things. They had spoken previously, but that elephant in the room had not really been addressed. The closest that Caterina came to maybe bringing it up was when she offered to either stay in the mansion, or get a place of her own nearby in the event that staying was too…weird? But Angelo had said he’d prefer she stay with them, and she really couldn’t blame him. He had suddenly gone from no kids to…many. He would need all the help he could get.
And the more she thought about it though, the more she realized it didn’t actually bother her too much. It was clear from the speed dating experience that Angelo had little interest in her, and frankly knowing that was more comfortable than going in blindly.
She had left Patchwork back at the mansion to help with moving while she went ahead to see the new mansion. Without a car or a license, she had travelled to the new neighborhood on the paws of Pesanta. When he came up the driveway, Pesanta paused. The demon dog wasn’t impressed, but he stopped to let Caterina take in the view of her new home and she was impressed. It was a beautiful place. Angelo chose well.
Pesanta padded up to the front door, finally shifting back into Caterina. She had come directly from working at the museum, so she was still wearing her professional attire. If it weren’t for the whole ‘turning into a demon dog’ part, she probably would have looked like she was trying to sell makeup door to door. Did people even do that anymore?
Anyway, Caterina rang the doorbell—hoping Angelo was around.
