People didn't realize how fast Angelo was. It was one of his great big advantages, because no one fucking expected someone his size to be faster than a freaking car.

So the moment Eon teleported, popping up out in the open, Angelo moved. If he was trying to be smug and taunting, he'd probably wait until he was pretty sure Angelo was coming after him and then teleport. Really rub it in. But Angelo wasn't stopping or waiting. Angelo was just going, top speed right towards Eon, aiming to scoop him up into the bag in one quick go.

There was a moment when Eon was thinking about the possible ways he could get out of this particular situation. But he also knew that this would just keep going. It would get tiring for him, and that just wouldn't be fun.
He sighed, and just sat there, and waited. Officer Genovese would get the best prize, first prize.

Eon wouldn't even see Angelo--at most a vague glimpse--and then oops, cat in a sack. Angelo was nice enough not to close the sack at least, abruptly popping back into existence for a moment before glancing in, looking a bit sheepish.

"Sorry," he said. "I got, uh, a bit into that. Not often I get an actual run for my money. No one thinks I'm half as fast as I actually am."

Angelo very carefully set the sack back down, giving Eon a look that was equal parts amused and embarrassed. "Kind of a fun challenge, actually."

"Of course it's a fun challenge if you're not immediately stupid about it. I actually wasn't ready for any of that... well from you anyway. Speedsters and the exhausted are usually the ones to beat me, honestly. That said, glad you had fun!"

He waved Theresa over to present him with his prize: a single gold star sticker. "Congrats you've captured Eon and won this 'fabulous' prize."

Angelo hadn't even thought about the prize, right until Theresa approached, accompanied by Wind's Respite (albeit at a bit more slower pace). Angelo opened his mouth to say no, I don't need a prize, and was thusly presented with a gold star sticker.

Angelo cracked up, holding out his hand for it just the same.

"How could I turn down such a generous prize?"

"This is great, some people get really mad when they realize all they got was a sticker. Now Theresa owes me lunch."

His regalis just huffed as she placed the sticker on Angelo's hand. "I can't believe you're actually okay with this. You know you could have ended this quicker if you just a-"

Eon let out a loud obnoxious meow to stop her from finishing that sentence. "Yeah that's what I thought. We don't talk about that. Maybe Officer Genovese likes stickers. Let him have nice things."

Angelo was not Jude. Not quite. But he almost was, and he considered, pondering what she'd almost said.

"Oh," he said. "I could have just asked?"

Wind's Respite raised an eyebrow, glancing towards Eon.

"An interesting challenge," Wind's Respite mused. "If true."

"Remember when I said it's usually the really quick or the really exhausted? Yeah, you just have to ask. I'm pretty hard to catch even for people that can match my speed, you gotta be faster. No one thinks about asking outright from the beginning."

Eon's tail flicked, his eyes were shifting around to see if anyone might have been listening. "Don't tell anyone. you're both sworn to secrecy."

"On my honor," Angelo said, raising his hand in what was clearly intended to be a very solemn oath about a very serious subject. On the other hand, Wind's Respite simply smiled.

"My lips are sealed," she said. "I don't think Angelo is going to take me on another one of these challenges anyway, so I think we'll be just fine."

"Geeze you're such a cop about it, man. But also... excellent. Both of you," Eon padded over to sit next to Theresa. She sighed and looked at him, as if what she was going to say next was almost painful for her.

"Fine, I guess you do alright with your... nonsense. Let's just get you your lunch, you'd better not clean me out. I have bills," she wasn't smiling, but she looked like she wanted to. Okay, she was smiling a little bit as Eon opened a portal.

"Welp, it's been fun Officer, see ya around! Good luck if you do keep going in the tourney."

And with that, they headed through the portal, which closed and vanished as soon as they'd left.
