Apollo sat down in the grass as he spoke. His sword shifted around as he did so.
Apollos Thoughts-

"Fair Folk is for those of lesser origin. Fae is for equals. Hey, wait that's tier-ist. Something my mother would say! Oh, gods."

"Fair Folk sounds different enough. Fae sounds like a shorter version of what I said. It's also the term I hear used the most here. " But if this was only about where Apollo was from, then Darzih had no need to change how he spoke. Faerie simply sounded nicer and was more formal from where he was from.

Darzih made no move to sit. He was still uncertain about this person and their sword.

"Fair Folk because we are fairer, both as in prettier and as in keeping our word."
Apollo crossed his legs and breathed in deep, holding it for a moment and exhaled.
"I'm almost certain Fae is a shortening of Faerie. Faerie could also be a stylization of Fae, but that's all semantics and stuff."
He repeated the breathing pattern from a second ago.

Apollos Thoughts-

"It smells nice out here. Like maple syrup. Wait, maybe there is a maple tree to tap? That would be a sweet treat!"

Darzih chuckled at that. He was definitely pretty. It was part of why he was such a highly valued product, aside from his magic. The second part held no relevance to Darzih, as he had no need to keep his word. It may have been a common thing with faeries here, and for all he knew, faeries back where he was from, but that didn't concern him.

"Prettier, hm? I wouldn't say you're my type, but you have some abnormalities I'm almost certain most humans don't have. Your golden eyes, for example. I would include your hair too, but I think white and grey hair is normal enough for humans. Older humans, I think... I'm still learning what's considered normal and abnormal for them."

Apollo had shut his eyes, breathed in and held it in savoring the fall aroma.
"My golden eyes are my best feature, and my hair would be orange or maybe red but moving to the island screwed that up so it changed early. Do you smell maple?"

Apollos Thoughts-

"Well, at least I think my eyes are the best thing about me. My spring hair is better, Light Green, than my fall and winter hair"

"I do. I've been smelling it strongly for some time, but I assumed someone was eating food with it. I tend to block out smells that don't concern me." If he didn't, he'd be overcome with so many smells he would experience a never-ending headache.

"I learned to embrace overpowering smells, although pepper is a horrible smell"
Apollo opened his eyes and stopped breathing deeply. He did not move from his seated position though.
"Oh and Onions? I cannot deal with the smell of onions"

"Onions with pepper would probably make me fall over and die immediately. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Go to a graveyard"

"I don't know how you can embrace strong smells. That is an admirable trait. I've learned to be careful with my strong senses. Just as most people have eyes that block out what's not in their focus, I do the same with my ears and nose."

"Now I have to know if I can shut down senses. Mental note. Buy onions and bring them home. Mental note 2. Before I buy onions throw away my pepper and let the house air out."

"I wasn't advising you to shut down your senses. I was only curious as to how you don't naturally block out smells like most people block out information that's not immediately relevant to them. I also have very strong senses compared to other humans, so I understand."
