Nia blushed, her eyes turning away momentarily from Aedan. Her voice was so weak and soft and she didn't even have an accent. He must have just been saying that to be nice.

She covered her mouth and giggled a bit as the little lights fell around them. She suddenly felt like she understood those videos of children playing in bubbles.

She blushed again, the fear that normally filled her face slipping away to be replaced by genuine joy. "Thank you." She was still timid in her words though, especially since she wasn't quite sure she deserved the compliments.

She noticed the boy's sunglasses though and they confused her slightly. Nia wanted to understand things that confused her, "Um...why do wear sunglasses inside?" She had a pair of sunglasses. They were one of only three items she was found with but even she knew that you didn't wear them inside. There was no sun in here after all.

He smiled and chuckled at her joy, it was good to bring some joy, he'd thought his powers could do nothing but hurt people, he was grateful have been wrong.

His smile briefly vanished at the mention of his sunglasses, but he forced it back to keep her spirits, "ah these things, well..my eyes can be a little scary at times." He tapped there frames, "It's nothing to worry about though."

So far, Nia only saw good in this boys power. It made her smile and laugh and that was not something that happened often.

Nia's smile faded a bit as she saw the boy's expression change. Her brow furrowed and she nodded understandingly. "Oh..I understand. I can be very scary sometimes..." She let out a small sigh as her thoughts began to slip away from the joy the blue lights had brought and back to the reason's she was currently waiting outside the counselor's office.

Aedan mentally kicked himself, his statement had troubled her, "hey you...you may not find it scary." He scratched the back of his head, "the first pepole to see my eyes didnt react well so I...I tend to hide them." That was an understatement, they were soldiers who nearly shot him.

He sighed, he hadn't told anyone but the counselor that. "I'm sorry, I'm afraid of scaring or hurting people."

He looked at her, she hadn't judged him, not one bit, "if..if you want I could show you my eyes." He reached up to his sunglashid , his fingers stopping a inch away, "if you liked my ionic statues you...you should be ok with my eyes."

Nia could understand that. The first people who had seen her visions had not reacted well either. One of them had attempted an exorcism on her. It hadn't worked...

"It's okay. I'm afraid of scaring people too." It seemed these two strangers had more in common then either of them could have guessed.

Nia looked up at him and gave a small smile. If his eyes were anything like his power then she was sure she would like them. She didn't say anything just nodded reassuringly. She didn't want him to feel pressured but she also wanted him to feel free to be himself.

Aedan couldn't help but smile, this kind girl was able to get through his defenses. He closed his eyes and slowly slid his glasses off, he took a breath and opened his eyes. He could see a blue shimmer in her eyes that he knew was a reflection of the ionic glow of his eyes.

"I hope they don't scare you."

When she saw his eyes, Nia's own filled with awe and amazement. It was probably the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. She imaged that all the amazing things he had just made all came from his eyes. They seemed to spill out wonderful light.

She giggled a little bit, blushing, "They're terrifyingly beautiful." That was probably the first attempt at a joke the girl had made since arriving on the island just over a year ago. Part of her wanted to reach out and touch them but she also knew that people usually didn't like their eyeballs touched.

Aedan smiled, a real happy smile, he even blushed for a brief second, "thank you, that....that means a lot to me."

He shoved his sunglasses into his pocket relieved that he wouldn't need them around her, "I still don't know why they glow, some odd after-effect of my powers I guess."

He gave her another kind smile one that seemed even happier than before, "if you dont mind me saying, your eyes are quite pretty as well."

Nia liked the smile that played on his features now. It made her feel like she had done something good. That wasn't something she often felt.

She let out a sort of heavy sigh, "If that's the after affect of your powers...your very lucky." Her abilities were not nearly so gracious to her. A small shudder ran up her spine as her mind reminded her of all the "after affects" and "prior affects" of her visions.

She blushed, shaking her head slightly, "Oh...no my eyes are.." She cut herself off, realizing she was being rude. "Well, thank you." She didn't see much in her gray eyes. To her they seemed just as dull and drained of life as the rest of her body.

While she didn't really see it, she looked much better then when she had first arrived on the island. She had gone from being almost nothing but skin and bones to something resembling a real human. Her cheeks had filled out some and her hair had regained some life (though she still never brushed it). Her skin even had some color to it now, where before it had been pale in an unhealthy way. A lot of things had improved but a lot of things had also gotten worse.

Aedan shook his head, he could tell she didn't actually like here eyes, "there a soft gray like clouds, with a pretty shimmer to them." He smiled again, "don't ever let anyone tell you different Nia."

He smiled at her, "it diesnt take some wierd energy to make someone pretty, I think subtle beauty is much more impressive." He tapped below one of his eyes, "besides you can go to the movies without anyone complaining about your eyes glowing." It was a poor attempt at a joke, but felt obligated to try.
