Really, Valli was concerned with the end of the plan. Pillars of ice to get a clear shot, he supposed? And then what, carry it back? There were a lot of unanswered questions that weren't getting answered, considering the creature had suddenly started moving.

Evan flanked both left and right. One minute he was standing there, and the next one of him had gone left, while the other had gone right. They were identical in every way, and both drew their handguns, ready to fire. They'd split with the same idea, allowing them to be in sync for a small period of time: That if the creature started towards them, they'd fire a warning shot to startle it back towards the center.

Hazel looked left and right, confused. Well, looks like any questions she had at the moment were not going to be answered. And now she had to run....Great. Sure, she should have seen that one coming, but whatever.

Hazel was going to start running left, but it seemed like that was going to be covered by Evan. She stood there, wondering where to. Shrugging, she ran forward, following behind the creature. Or at least what she thought was the creature. Not too fast, though. She had an ice owl following it, not wanting to push herself. Didn't want to waste all of her energy before the real challenge began.

The creature suddenly darted left, slamming into a tree near the Evan to the right. It took a tentative swipe at Hazel's ice owl, letting out an unsettling clicking sound at the construct. It's head spun around like an owl's, its large eyes searching for a stable place to land with its next leap. The trees were thinning out; it seemed as if more of them were vanishing than reappearing at the moment.

Jason called out, "The clearing should be just ahead, down an incline. Don't let it out of your sight!"

It wasn't human. It was so notably non-human that Evan nearly faltered, struggling to place it firmly into his understanding of the world. It was not human, but it also wasn't sentient, and each Evan had work to do in order to make sure it was brought safely back... and most importantly, that it didn't harm anyone.

REvan fired a shot into a tree just a bit ahead of the creature, the best possible tree for it to have hopped to if it was trying to get away outside of their little group. It would have to choose to either hop to the tree he'd just shot, or else to hop to a nice, safe tree... towards where the trap would hopefully be ready. Down an incline was ideal, and Evan was no stranger to controlled slides as he made sure to keep himself from stumbling, LEvan keeping pace.

Hazel continued chasing, starting to huff a bit. Oh yeah, keep up, it just so easy to do. Just have to keep putting one leg in front of the other. Well, she was able to keep up still, and let the little owl get destroyed. It didn't effect her that much. Though with the slamming.....

She pushed herself more, running to the clearing while the creature took that one slam into the tree. There it was, right in front of her. She managed to make it, but tripped, falling flat onto the ground. That didn't matter though. She could find her glasses later, for now she just made a bunch of ice pillars in this field. Of course, they would lead to nowhere, but that didn't matter. Now was time to rest, then trap it.

The creature jumped to the safer tree, then another, and another. At it's third jump the tree it was aiming for vanished from sight. The creature scrambled midair and kicked off of one of the trees nearby, splintering wood in the process. It hit one of Hazel's ice pillars but the brittle and slick material gave it nothing to grab on to. The Roof Walker plummeted to the ground, where it fell oddly limp.

Jason rushed forward, keeping his tranqilizer gun trained on the creature as he approached. "Keep an eye out. There might be local fauna about."

Above the clearing, a dark shadow circled in the sky. A massive vulture, one of the creatures that came from Jason's world, zeroing in on an oblivious Jason Chang. The doctor, for his part, checked the fallen Roof Walker and called back to his companions.

"It's dead. I suppose we know what happens if they touch the ground now."

It was a well known fact that people didn't look up. It was a habit that Evan had drilled out of him during his training, because people didn't look up, and everyone knew people didn't look up, and some people--especially aberrant with wings--loved to take advantage of that. Whether it was someone soaring through the sky or just a gangster hiding in the rafters of a warehouse, looking up saved lives.

It probably had saved Jasons.

The roof walker hit the ground, and neither Evan let their guard down. REvan stepped forward, carefully heading towards Jason as he checked the roof walker, but LEvan did his usual checks. Left. Right. Behind. And then Up.

He did a double take on up, and then dropped his handgun, going for the rifle slung across his back.

"Engage above," LEvan snapped, and REvan responded just as quickly as he could, lifting his handgun as he moved towards Jason.

Assuming the vulture started to drop, both Evan's were going to open fire.

Hazel got to her knees, looking around. She was able to find her glasses pretty fast, putting them on and blinking. Walking over a bit, Hazel observed the body of the creature. Well, she did manage to glimpse it falling. Damn, she should have known better and tried to lay down a safety net of some sort, or make the pillars bowl like.

However, she didn't get much more time to think. She looked up, trying to find the shadowy figure. It looked familiar, like the creature at the cottage. She couldn't exactly tell though, but figured might as well prepare for it. "Putting a dome above you guys." Waving her hand, an ice dome appeared above. She did leave two openings. One small hole for them to see if the bird attacks, and another to run out if said bird attacks.

The vulture slammed down into the ice dome, causing it to collapse on top of Jason who went intangible to escape the crushing ice. This did not, however, stop the vulture's talins from piercing his leg and he let out a Yelp of pain.

Almost instinctively, Jason's arm changed color to a dull metallic gray and spikes shot out of it to defend him from the creature. His voice cried out in a strangely young, feminine lilt Between this and the gunfire from both Evans, the vulture reels back and tried to take to the air again.

LEvan was holding steady, firing as quickly and efficiently as possible. This was what he'd been trained for, to open fire out of sheer instinct, and the thought that they might want the vulture alive didn't even cross his mind. It was an enemy hostile, a mindless creature that seemed intent on attacking them, and so close to the ground it was going to be taking a lot of bullets in a very short period of time.

REvan was having a significantly less fun time. The collapsing of the ice dome had hit him too, although not nearly as badly as Jason himself. He'd been quick enough at dropping to the ground, and while he hadn't been pierced, he was absolutely banged up. But his first priority had been to shove a piece of ice away, get line of sight, and start opening fire again.

At least there wasn't any chance of his gun overheating, buried in ice like he was.
