Event Finished Conservation: Deep Woods

Marcus's foot was enough to break it with a sharp tinkle of glass breaking. The effect would be immediate and obvious, both for the guide and Marcus, but also for Ferris himself.

For Ferris, the acids would stop pouring in, with the majority draining out the holes they'd already made. But also the plant would begin to contract, crushing Ferris together, and it would take all of his super strength to keep from being crushed by the plant.

The plant would squirm, and the squirming would be visible even aboveground, twitching with roots flailing as it went through it's death throes.

The guide simply did his best to stand well back as it died.

Once it stops moving, we will need to help clear the plant matter near the top to allow him to free himself. He might be injured.

With the plant dead, actually getting Ferris out of the hole was far, far easier. Rather than the plant fighting back, it was easy enough to move out of the way. The shovel would be able to cut through the plant matter, helping clear the obstruction from above as Ferris worked his way up, and between the two of them they'd be able to clear a hole, allowing Ferris to pull himself out.

Should I call for a medevac? The guide thought, obviously referring to Ferris even if he was broadcasting to both. That was a Synthesis Flower. They are one of the more dangerous parts about the forest, and if you had been left, it is possible you would have been taken as its host. It is good we got you free so fast.

Its lack of arms made helping that much difficult, but it did move over, clearing some vines with its limbs to help Ferris pass through the hole easier.
