Lying down on the sweet, warm glass and soaking up some wonderful sun, Liney felt content. She's been exploring since the day before yesterday and have traveled to every part of the island, basking in its natural riches. Having returned to the campus and still not having it in her to go to class, she decided that it would be a perfect day to just relax.
Besides her was Vaughn. Vaughn was her parent's gift to her before she left their place to attend the academy. Though most people wouldn't understand, Liney considered Vaughn as her best friend. He was loud and brash and insulted almost everything, including her, but she loved him all the same. It's just too bad she's not able to hug him.
Laughing tickled her ears and Liney turned her head to pout at the cactus.
"Shut up," she tells him. "Between the two of us, you're the one who's missing out. Not me."
She turned away from him, ignoring the prickly thoughts sent her way and just stretched out her arms and legs and let out a contented whine. This was the life.
