The blabbering fool seemed to freak over the kiss. Lucy only gave off a giggle of amusement at his flustered reaction. "Hm? No need to thank me for that. You're cute and being a real sweetheart." Lucy was a sucker for that. The redhead nodded and allowed him to take their drinks. "I'll help you however I can, promise." She didn't like to owe people. She placed the pastry down and pulled up a chair. Lucy sat properly, before slouching took over as she leaned forward to look at his work. "Do you even want my help at all? Or would you rather a kiss?"

Oh great. He was "cute". At least, according to Lucy. His own jury was still out on the subject. Though, he couldn't deny. He was a huge softy for people - he couldn't really say no. Especially to a face like that. He guessed that qualified him as a sweetheart...? Either way, it was nice.
Nix took the coffees from her, and flashed a grin, now more composed than ever. Back to his flirty way, now. "Hey. I'm sure you can help a latte." A chuckle. More puns. It always made him feel a bit more confident.
Finally they arrived at his table. Lucy took a seat, properly at first. Damn, he didn't even get to pull out the chair. Oh well - he had other ways. The pyrokinetic watched as Lucy's posture slumped, presumably looking at his notes. Which were, to say the least, sloppy. Doodles and definitions were strewn everywhere across the page, and there was a little doodle of a coffee counter - that is to say, how many coffees he'd made the note with. Grand total? Still 2. Heh.
"Uhh. Yeah. English exam cramming. Heheh. And to your question, I'mma go for C - All of the above. Or maybe," Before he could stop himself, "option E - maybe get your number?" Another wink - he seemed to have mastered it now. Mastered...
"OH! Right." Nix snapped his fingers as he remembered. "I should uh, show ya a few more things. Magical Studies, for example - reaaally cool stuff. 'Cept for math. Heh - powers is still science, I guess."

Lucy snorted at his pun, finding it super cheesy and frankly, she wasn't sure how else to react to it. She looked it all over. It wasn't overly messy, but they could use some work. "Hm, okay." Lucy got out her phone and handed it to him. "Put it in, I don't mind." She gave a nod and sipped on her drink. "Why's it interesting? What's your reasoning for saying that?"

Aha. Laughter. He knew it. The pyrokinetic's charming grin came back. "C'mon, that was goood!" he laughed, sitting down with the coffees. Instantly, Nix's coffee spilled a little over the side, creating a little coffee stamp on the paper. A trademark on all his notes, he had to admit. It was awesome. "Heh. Yeah - the notes a a little outta place, but hey, whatever. I can understand 'em." With that, he gingerly took her phone and typed in his number, being careful to not drop it. Like the klutz he was. When he was done, he slid it back across the table, sliding his own phone to Lucy. "Punch yours in, yeah?"
Huh. Explaining why it was interesting? Yeah, sure. He'd give that a shot, totally.
"Well, uh... It's interesting, really. Because, like, magic works in the same way science does, as far as I can tell, and yet it actually doesn't! THAT'S what makes it so hard to study - it's so many things but only one thing, do you get it? And that's what keeps it interesting. Like... okay, pyrokinesis, yeah? The type of magic I got? It works completely different of, say, my roommate's pyro powers!" Man, he was getting riled up now, his face slowly truning red witht he effort of explaining it all. Well, that, and sheer excitement that he could throw his ideas at Lucy - she actually seemed to be interested. "It's just, like , I dunno. It's the same thing - both fire - but like, it's completely different in terms of working! Like... the whole physics of it is different." And then - oh, shit. He was rambling. "Oh damn. I'm rambling. Heh, sorry 'bout that. Old habit, science of difference. That kinda shit riles me up, gets me interested, y'know?"

"It was good, that's why I'm laughing." She snorted a bit, before forcing herself to move on. "Hm, of course." She took his phone with a smile and typed her number in. His phone felt so different compared to her own. Lucy slid it back with a nod before picking up her drink and taking a sip. "Huh, I wouldn't have thought that, actually." There was something sincere with his explanation that Lucy just seemed to connect with. "Thank you for the explanation though, it gives me a new perspective, I suppose." The red head moved a piece of her hair behind her hear. "It's fine, I'm glad you're so passionate! It's a rarity."

"I know, right?! And, like... Learning all of that is hard but interesting. Gets ya thinkin', y'know?" Finally, he quieted down and took a swig of his coffee. "Basically, though, it's uh. It's fun to kinda play with all the different things of magic, see what you can do with it. It's quite the passion, really." Nix realized he was repeating himself again. Multiple times. Damnit! Oh well. Lucy didn't seem to mind much, either way. He decided he'd let her get a word in edgewise. This time. "Ahaha. But i'm talking too much about me. More about you, maybe, Little Miss 'i'm-not-a-movie-star'?" With him grinning like that, it was obvious.
This was the face of an annoying little shit.

"I bet it is. To be able to, I suppose learn parts of something that is so vast and unknown- I envy you in that." Her powers were to bleak compared to his fascinations. He stopped talking to allow her to add a word in, which was quite a nice thing to do. She giggled, before leaning on the table as she thought. "Hm, well I suppose I like to work out, as I mentioned. I enjoy helping others, too." She liked to be one to motivate people to be their best. "I am a fan of some TV shows, but a lot of the time I get too busy to watch."

Nix nodded, a smile easing across his face. A slighty -embarrassed smile. "Don't envy me for that, man - lotta work and nothing' else, mostly. Lotta things being discovered around, more powers to study. More than other majors, I guess."
Reaching down for his cup, he took another quick swig, ignoring the burning of the hot drink down his gullet and holding in a cough well. TV shows and working out - "Sounds like a healthy lifestyle. Might explain why you're as pretty as you are - though most of it, undoubtedly, is natural." Another wink.

"It's still something that is out of... What we perceive as normal, you know? Working out is normal and boring in comparison." She shrugged and picked at her food quietly, listening. "What is there to explain. My natural beauty is from my genes and who my parents were. That's pretty much it." She paused. "I don't really like make up all that much, but that's just because I do not believe that it is right to hide behind something. You have to work for your body to be in shape, as well as you have to work on keeping your skin clean and your complexion good."

The pyrokinetic nodded vehemently, scribbling on his paper barely-legible notes. Probably copying from one of his classmates - but everyone was so nice, and he'd promised to give it back, so. On with he illegible handwriting. "Yeah - but the thing is, it's so out of the normal it's actually interesting to study. I mean, yeah, you can study History and Arts and shit like that, and if that gets you pumped, then whatever floats your boat. They're both real interesting and real fun - but I think Magical Studies is just interesting enough to hold my full attention, and to get me to lea - Crap, I'm rambling again. Heheh, sorry 'bout that. Ahem, go ahead?" His glance flickered over to his cup... he hadn't touched his coffee much yet. That was reasonable, though - he was listening (or rather, talking himself to death).
For the next few minutes Nix listened to Lucy as she spoke, nodding along. "Yeah. Never got the deal with girls and makeup - why put shit on your face if you're only gonna wipe it off at the end of the day or something?" Was that what girls did with their makeup? Eh. He could never tell. "You gotta point, though - it's all you. You gotta keep yourself going, yeah? So that you're happy with yourself." A slight cough, and then a swig of coffee.
