"I suppose, though I have never considered myself to be a soft or warm hearted person." It wasn't in her nature to cuddle people, or give out big favours; that was all for people she liked. "Not sure yet, something with caffeine. Do you have any suggestions?" She smiled, leaning in so that their noses almost touched. "And no, I have nothing else after this until about... 10pm." She cocked her head to the side. "Are you wanting to go on a date?"

The redhead cracked a smile. "Well, that's up to you to find out." His smile turned sheepish, as he admitted - "Mostly I was just looking for a friend. A sweet friend. Though you couldv'e fooled me - you're doin' just fine talkin' to me." His smile gained a sly tinge. "I suggest the Breakfast Roast - s' got quite a kick to it. How do you take it?" The fact that their noses were almost touching didn't faze Nix much. "Hey, no one 'nose' how it'll turn out." Phase 1 on the plan - in motion. Phase 2 - talk. Phase 3? Bam. One of his first friendships on the island. Maybe. Probably. Hopefully.
Ah, why was he lying? Probably not.
But maybe yeah.
"Uh, by the way - you a student at the university?"

"I suppose so." She smirked and moved away, wondering if he wasn't interested in her. "If I'm honest, I like coffee every way. I love that there are so many different ays to brew and enjoy it. There doesn't need to be one way or the other only." There was passion in her voice. "But sure, I'll try that one." With a nod, she moved up in the line. "You're silly- and yeah. Major in physical education, you?"

Nix shook his head, laughing. "You sure do know a lot about coffee. Then again, coffee enthusiasts can tell when others are too." He smirked as well, coming closer. "Yeah, there's a lotta ways to brew it, but you gotta get the flavor just right to balance the tastebuds. You can have a brewed French, but unless you ground it right it'll taste like dirt. Take it from me - two years, coffeemaker at Jamston Bakery. I almost got fired once because I didn't press the coffee right." He chuckled, eyeing the blondie as he, too, moved up the line. "Though, what'd ya expect from a smartass like me? They said, press it French. I spoke French the whole time." He wasn't about to admit that the only words he knew in French were "oui", "maintenant", "merde" (a personal favorite of his) and "cafe" (another one).
"Whoooa, another one? Seems like they're poppin' up all over the place. My roommate is one, you're one. Well, that's a thing. Guess I missed out on the easy credits." Nix cracked another grin. "I'm in Magical Studies - getting to know the stuff, y'know?" Please let this work - if it does, I might actually get with her! "I can, uh, tell you more about it at the table, if you wanna know."

"It's good to know a lot about the hints that you like, for sure." She smiles at him- he was so adorable. "There are many ways to make it; they shouldn't have been so strict and just... Helped you?" She didn't know his point of view fully, but the thought of having coffee be so restricted sounded like a nightmare. "Coffee is an art form, like that of painting."

"That's cute." She giggled, eyeing him still like he was some prey. "Oh, magic stuff? It's called attraction to some." For her, meeting the right person could feel pretty magical. "But sure, I'd love to know more, cutie." With that, she stepped up and ordered, getting a croissant that the two of them could share. "Want anything else?"

"That's what I told 'em. They didn't listen. Probably because I was goin'- 'Oui oui café!' every five minutes." He chuckled. "Yeah, I was an idiot back in high school, I swear to God." Grinning, he continued to blab on a little bit. Upon closer inspection, this chick was actually really friendly, and funny to boot - he was glad he'd bumped into her. Literally. "Oh wait. Hold on." His grin transformed into a sneaky smirk as he removed his wallet from his sweater pocket and said, in a smooth and confident voice. "One Medium Roast, two cream no sugar, and a croissant for the lady." He winked. "Care for a coffee, m'dame? It's on me."

"They were just too fascinated by your French skills, it seems." She smiled at him, enjoying whatever type of conversation they were having. "High school is a weird time for sure." Lucy agreed before hugging the other. "Oh, aren't you a sweetie? Thanks. The same as you, though."

"Guess so," Nix laughed. "Got pretty high in French though... like, an 85%. Pretty good for an idiot." He sighed before continuing. "Funny enough, high school. Got sooo many stories to tell you. Quite handsome back then - true heartbreaker. I mean, I'm sure you can relate. You look amazing."
A wink, before he turned back to the cashier. "That'll be TWO Medium Roasts, and a croissant for the lady. Please."
The cashier nodded sharply and sprung open the cash register. "That'll be ten dollars and fifty cents," they spoke, in a nasally tone. In a flash, Nix had a twenty out on the counter. "This'll cover it, I hope," he said in that same smooth tone. "M'lady, d'you wanna maybe... spend a few minutes with a charming college student as he crams for an exam? It'd be an honor t'have you with me. That is, if you can take my endless puns and flirting." More winking - which only made one of his eyelashes twitch and stab his eye. Nix pointedly ignored this fact. "And plus, I can, uh, show you my research on magic. Cool stuff, to be sure." A chuckle.
Soon the two coffees were on the counter, paid for and steaming hot. "Shall we?"

"85? Impressive." Lucy gave a smile before taking her time to respond any further. "I'm flattered, but you still look real young." He stills as handsome in her eyes. "It just takes a bit of effort and some will power to stay on top of your looks." She winked at him. He was such a gentleman, really. "Thanks." Her voice was low as she didn't want him to niss anything that the cashier said. Lucy giggled, nodding. "Of course. What are you cramming? Perhaps I can help you." He kissed his head, like some sort of praise. She didn't comment in his eye mishap, but simply nodded again. "I can go with that." She grabbed the pastry and the coffees, wanting to help.

Nix, after sorting out his little eyelash problem, to absolutely no one's surprise, tried to wink again. This time was a little better - he actually managed to wink. "That's me. Impressive as all hell." he threw up his arms, being careful to not hit anyone in the process, and grinned. "I'm only twenty-one but my mind is older! Lookit this - " he gestured to himself " - Premium stock right here." More laughter. "I joke, I joke. I'm shit. But uh. Yeah, gotta agree with you there. Gotta have that dedication to looks." Ohh God. There was that wink. Her wink. It was... well it was really cute. He just managed to pull off a not-stupid smile. "You're welcome," he replied as the cashier placed the two coffees and the croissant onto the counter, flitting to the next cash.
"Well, uhh. I'm cramming for an English test. Lotta big words, lotta confusing definitions. Especially since they cram a lot of new words in there, supernatural words. Which, to be honest, are super frickin' cool. I mean, what's not to like bout te - "
Chu.
Di-Did she just?

It took a second or five to process, again, what'd just happened. He'd been kissed, right there. His forehead. Or somewhere near there. Nix was almost glad she'd taken both coffees - he sure as hell would have dropped them. It took even longer for Nix to recompose himself. C'mon, dude! Back to reality! C'mon. Composure in three... two...
"Ahem. Uhh... T-Thanks." His goofy smile betrayed everything. "H-Here, I'll uhhh, I'll take those. At least the coffees." Yep... More composed, even after a few seconds. "You can't be carryin' everything, m'lady." A smirk. "My table's the one with the big-ass textbook. And the uh.. the huge mug. Heh. There should be a chair for you on the other side of the table." A genuine smile this time.
