Coffee. Life blood. Basically. At least when you are hungover.

Live had been at Red's dorm playing video games most of the night. Good thing it was a weekend. Not that she was terribly worried about him missing class. Well, maybe she was. She hadn't decided how she felt about that one yet. So long as he graduated she probably didn't care.

She had of course been drinking while they played video games. Made her get progressively worse, and better, at the same time. It was rather impressive actually. Probably annoyed Red quite a bit but what yah gonna do?

Anyway, Live now sat in a chair by a window in the The Forbidden Zone. She loved this place because the people didn't smile at her and wish her a nice day. The vibe was nice but it was a bit over done. Eh. Yah win some you lose some.

She had a couple hours until she had to get to work so she settled in to enjoy her baby head treat and demons blood coffee.

The Forbidden Zone wasn't quite his scene, but Loveless did love their coffee. Not to mention it was a pretty chill place to study when he wanted to. It wasn't a study day, but he sure as hell could use the boost. After picking up his coffee he turned to find a seat, and that point his eyes locked onto someone he was both surprised and not surprised to see.

A very hungover looking Live was sitting at alone at a window. Part of him considered just walking out without a word. Another part of him was seriously considering approaching. He'd be lying if he said she wasn't on his mind still even after all this time. She probably hated him, or maybe not. After a couple seconds of debate he opted to slide into the seat directly across from her.

"Hey there."

Live had just taken a big bite of her baby shaped food when someone slid into the seat across from her. At first, she was just mildly annoyed until her brain registered who in hell had invited himself to join her.

She tried to say something but the big chunk of food in her mouth made her choke a bit. She grabbed her coffee and took a couple swallows to hurry along the chewing process and clear her throat. Once she finally regained her composure, her eyes narrowed in on Loveless.

"I don't remember inviting you to join me here." Live snapped, unable to think of much else to say.

She didn't hate Loveless. Sure, she was pissed off at him but she didn't think she could bring herself to hate him. Hating him would mean she wished him dead. That wasn't what she wanted. She just...well, she didn't know what she felt right now except angry.

"Huh, not as hostile as I was expecting. I'll take it," he smiled slightly. God what the hell was he doing here? Loveless took a sip of his coffee, eyeing the partially eaten baby pastry on her plate. Was he- no he wasn't hungry. He'd opt to get right to it then.

"I know you're still mad, but being real I'm worried about you..." it didn't take a rocket scientist to know she wasn't taking care of herself. He just waited for it whatever nasty comment she'd fire back at him.

Live rolled her eyes. What? Did he expect her to jump across the table and try to strangle him? Probably. She was too hungover for that right now.

Speaking of hungover, that and being in such a calm and public space were the only things keeping Live from having a ridiculous out burst at Loveless's next comment. So instead of screaming and throwing things, she just tossed her fork on the table which made her wince at the sound.

"God! What in hell is with everyone and all their stupid worry." She grumbled as she grabbed her coffee for another sip. She just needed this hangover gone so she could focus better. This conversation was starting to sound like the one she had with Kaya back when Loveless and Live had first broken up.

She turned her eyes to glare at Loveless, "And what would you even have to worry about? You don't know what I've been doing. I haven't seen you in months." She kind of hoped that last comment stung a bit. She knew she couldn't physically hurt Loveless so her words were her best bet.

"Not taking care of youeself? Getting plastered most of the time? It's cause for concern Live. It's only natural people who care about you are gonna worry," Loveless gave her the flattest look and took a sip of his coffee.

It had been a while since they saw each other though, and he did genuinely miss her. Loveless sighed, and stared out the window. "I've missed you."

She was about to shoot back how she did take care of herself. She showed up to work on time, paid her own rent and took a few showers every week. Hell, she even spent time with her friend Red pretty regularly. Sounded to Live like she was doing a damn good job.

She was gonna say that, but then Loveless said, "Getting plastered most of the time?" Those words made all of Live's defensive fly up. Her eyes narrowed and she clenched her fists. Part of her knew her drinking was becoming (or really had been) a problem but she was in denial. Her mom was an alcoholic and the last thing she wanted was to be anything like that woman.

What's worse, he said he missed her. She could feel a pang in her heart, a sting of sadness among the anger, because she did miss him, too. But half the reason they had broken up had been Live's refusal to be vulnerable, to go into real emotions. Especially anything that had any chance of making her feel sad or worse, cry.

"What the hell are you trying to say?" She challenged him, doing her best to ignore his comment about missing her. She'd avoid the pain in her chest by letting her anger boil. That was the one emotion she wasn't afraid of.

Live was doing that thing again, putting up a tough front instead of just letting someone in. He slid his sunglasses off, a rare sight for him in public. Loveless folded them, and slipped them into his pocket. This was serious, so he opted to look the part.

"I get the feeling you kind of know. I want you back, but we can't keep going like this Live. Aren't you just tired of being like this all the time?"

As Loveless took his sunglasses off, she knew things were getting serious. She didn't know what right he had showing up after months of basically no contact (okay, maybe she had blocked his phone number) and start saying all this ridiculous stuff about how she wasn't caring for herself. Saying he missed her. Wanted her back. She wished she could yell how he had broken up with her but that wasn't the truth. She was the one who had refused to work on things. She was the one who put up walls and wouldn't budge. She knew this. And yet, she refused to acknowledge it.

"No." She snipped and was silent for a long moment. She could feel her anger boiling but this time it wasn't at Loveless. Sure, he had pushed her emotional boundaries but she knew he had done nothing he didn't have a right to do as her boyfriend. She was just mad at herself for even allowing someone to get that close.

"You don't get it. You're just a freaking lust demon. All you care about is pleasure. You could never understand the weight of human suffering." Geez, could she get anymore dramatic?

"I was born and raised in hell, I know what human suffering looks like," he answered flatly. Why was she like this. Why was she so insistent on pushing people out. This was going about as well as he'd expected it to go. He almost wasn't sure what to say to her now as he sat and sipped his coffee.

"And I fucking care about you. I think about you. I worry about you. From the most mundane simple shit to someone fucking stabbing you in an alley or worse. Don't try to pull the demon card, it's bullshit and you know it."
