The woman walked out onto the lawn, a scowl upon her face. She had gotten over being kind pretty quickly, that was for sure. There was no hat upon her head to hide her feminine facial features, and her hair hung loosely near her. However, she was still wearing guys clothing. What could she say, it was comfortable, and she was used to it.

Cordelia shook her head, stuffing her hands into her pockets. She was beginning to dread the Valentine's Day Dance. She was supposed to go with Percy, and, well, she wasn't entirely sure if she was ready for a 'date' yet. Why did I say yes... I'm such an IDIOT.... she thought to herself.

The twenty-year-old walked over to a tree. It was cold outside, but what was she supposed to expect? It was winter, after all. Her footprints could be seen in the freshly fallen snow, and she glared at the ground, sighing. "I hate snow," she mumbled to herself. She finally leaned against the tree, looking down at the ground, her dark blue eyes closed. She was just thinking about the hoedown... and wondering why she had even bothered to come out here. She could have thought about all of this in her dorm room, after all, an she hated snow.

I can't even think... ugh... She rolled her eyes at herself, and sighed again.

She had been flying for a while, well, for a long time, and she had started to tire out a while ago. Her brilliant red wings still weren't used to flying much. She was in deep trouble, her muscles were on fire and she probably could drop out of the sky any time now.

In the distance, she saw a large building. She didn't know where she was, so she simply aimed for that, trying to stay afloat for now. She cursed under her breath, being merciless to her new appendages. The road to safe landing ground seemed to go on forever, the only sound filling her ears being the beat of her wings.

Slowly, she decscended to the ground, or at least tried to. When her feet touched the ground, she fell flat on her face, wings stretched ackwardly around her. Again, she cursed her luck and tried to stand up, only to find she was unbalanced and to fall again.

Cordelia turned her head when she thought she heard the flapping of wings. She wouldn't have, normally, but these wings sounded larger than those of a birds, and had become curious. Upon seeing the female, an eyebrow raised, and she merely watched as she fell to the ground.

The woman laughed out loud. Oh, that was hilarious! So what if laughing at another's pain was cruel? The vampire certainly didn't care. She walked toward the girl who was now trying to stand up, only to see that she had failed. Cordelia covered her mouth as if that would suppress her laughter, but it definitely didn't. She shook her head at the girls efforts, and once she reached her, looked down at her.

"You're an awfully bad flier," she commented. "How long have you had your wings? Not very long, I hope. If you've had them for a while and you land this bad it would be a complete shame." She shook her head again, waiting for a reaction from the other female.

Loriana groaned from where she was splattered against the ground, flinching when she heard the laughter of the other girl. Growling something ununderstandable under her breath, she tried to push herself off the ground, failing miserably for a third time.

''A few days, not even a week yet.'' She replied in an annoyed tone. ''Thanks for the help though.'' she said sarcastically.

Trying to move her wings to a better angle, she let a small hiss of pain when something in one of her wings moved in a way it wasn't supposed to.

''Cripes, I think I broke something on top of that.'' She groaned.

The young redhead stopped moving around, sighing in exasperation.

''Why does it have to allways happen to me...'' She whined.

The girls annoyed tone didn't bother Cordelia in the slightest. "Oh, good. You had me worried there for a second," she said when Loriana said she hadn't had her wings for even a week. She didn't reply to her 'thanks for help', but merely smirked. Upon seeing that she had failed for a third time to get to her feet, the woman shook her head again. This was quite amusing.

Seeing that the younger female had probably broken something, the vampire decided to help her. As amusing as watching the winged girls pain was, she just thought it would be best to be merciful and at least help her to her feet. "So pathetic... here, I'll help you up," she said, extending a hand for the redhead to take.

An eyebrow raised again. 'This always happens to you?" she asked.

''Well, not this in particular, but, ever heard of Murphy's law?'' She asked taking the vampire's offered hand. ''You know, 'the toast always falls on its buttered side', 'if something got to go wrong it will' law?''

She tugged herself to her feet, gladly accepting the hand and balancing her wings as to not fall down again. A bit of her right wing hurt, but she really hoped it wasn't something serious.

''Well, it represents me, if there is a possibility of something going wrong for whatever reason, it will. Its no wonder I have such a large hospital folder.'' She supplied. ''I should go get this thing checked out.'' she said pointing to her wing. With my luck I will have broken several bones in it.''

Sighing, she righted her dirtied clothing, she was sure there was enough dirt on her to make a sand castle out of it. Dusting herself off, she shrugged the dust off of her.

''Where am I anyway?'' she asked.

Cordelia nodded when asked if she had ever heard of Murphy's Law. "Of course," she said, but didn't say anything more, just in case the girl had anything more to add. The vampire had a feeling she did, and she didn't really feel like being rude and interrupting her.

She helped the girl up when she took her hand, and watched as she tried to balance herself. Once Loriana had successfully gotten to her feet, the woman stuffed her hands into her pockets, waiting for her to continue speaking.

She nodded in understanding when the younger female told her that that was mostly what happened to her. "Well, that doesn't sound very pleasant at all," she said. "And yeah, you should. I'll take you to the hospital wing."

When asked where she was, Cordelia responded without having to think at all. "Starlight Academy, school for the 'gifted'. Otherwise knows as super powers, but call it whatever you please."

''Starlight Academy? I never heard of it.'' The red haired adolescent said. ''A school with those having powers? I guess I would qualify then.''

Shrugging, she folded her still good wing against her back the other hanging limply on her side.

''You would accompany me there?'' She asked the vampire. ''I would be grateful if you did, I would be lost on my way there''

She started towards what she could see of the school in the distance, well, what she assumed was the school.

(Seems my mind deteriorates expodentially the more I am tired >.<)

Cordelia nodded when Loriana said she qualified. "Yep, you do," she said. The woman nodded as the girl asked if she would go with her. She figured it wouldn't hurt anything, and she wanted to go back anyway. She didn't much feel like staying outside anymore, really.

She started walking toward the school, walking just the tinniest bit in front of the other female. "I'm Cordelia, by the way," she said. "How did you end up here?"

Loriana followed the older woman as she took the lead.

"I am Loriana." She answered.

She walked in silence for a while, deep in memories that the vampire's question had brought up. they weren't good memories at all.

"I was chased here, well, more like hunted down like a rabid animal." She replied in a voice that told it hadn't been easy to get away from her hunters.

She even had some old wounds from that too, she had been hunted ever since she had been chucked out of her 'home'.

''Just because I had to live in the woods and could not make a decent living they considered I was a danger to society, it only got worse when I got my wings.'' The redhead told.

Her hand went to her left arm, covering a just starting to heal wound, it was were she had been shot. Of course, at that moment she had flown away, not wanting to get shot again.

"Humans do not understand differences and will hate you for not being like the general population." She said mournfully.
