Clueless sand

Madelin listened to Chitose her question, it made her think. In all honesty she loved writing fictional stories. But was that what she had been taught, learned and read about, not really. “Personally I enjoy writing fictional things, but I don’t mind things like writing rapports or article’s about recent things. I have written small article’s about wars for school, it’s nice to learn more about the past while letting others know of your findings. It’s also helpful when you are trying to think up new things.” She smiles gently while looking over at Chitose and she saw that a crescent moon had been drawn in the sand.

She stares at it a long second before looking back at the ocean, watching the waves again. Why did she come to this place again, to find peace and be able to control herself. That is what she had said, but wasn’t it to find friends, to talk easily about things, just like Chitose and herself where doing right now? A sigh escapes her lips before she can really think about it and she leans back under the umbrella again. Looking over at Chitose she could see her staring off towards the ocean, she looked happy, probably thinking about something that made her feel happy.

Maybe also someone who enjoyed sunsets, Madelin looks at the edge of the umbrella, seeing sunrays pass it by, but not seeing the sun itself. Probably just behind afternoon, it couldn’t be that late. Thinking about time, in what time zone where they? She had forgotten to look it up before, being in the middle of the pacific they surely had a different time zone than New Zealand where she had departed “Do you happen to know what time it was when you came here?”

Realizing that it probably sounds strange she continues. “I forgot to look it up and I quite enjoy the thing called time.” Madelin could feel her cheeks heat up, it was a stupid thing to get embarrassed about, but because it was such a stupid thing she couldn’t believe she had asked it. In her embarrassment she was looking at the sand in front of her, hoping that Chitose hadn’t heard it and would be more interested in something else to talk about.

Oh, a story writer like Chitose herself! That caught the figurine's interest... to an extent. In the end the young woman was more of an animator than a fiction writer, as she was not skilled at using large or well thought out words and sentances to make a cohesive, entertaining to read and easy to understand story. Instead, she excelled at creating a story by combining animations or just comics with writing to get across the same thing that a book could, but generally much more slowly due to how long it takes to actually draw, potentially color and even animate anything.

Chitose shared this about herself to Madelin thanks to her own interest, "Mmh, I like making stories too. Or, well, I like drawing about them more, really. I was never able to get into outright writing anything. Even though it so happens that I have yet to make anything particularly special, I still have a lot of time to improve myself and get used to... a lot of things." Chitose mused. Perhaps then Madelin maybe figured out that Chitose had been staring at the horizon thinking about her own stories?

The six inch girl wasn't the type to completely lose herself in her stories as she wasn't that imaginative, but she did want to make something that people could love as much as some of the more popular animes and mangas. An artist could dream, right? And Chitose wasn't the type to let her dreams fade very easily.

Once Madelin started asking about time and quickly got herself all flustered over it, Chitose couldn't help but wonder why the pale girl was acting so embarrassed. At first Chitose was worried that it was something about her own body that was causing some uncomfort; did her bikini set fall off or something? She was not used to women's attire yet, so the thought of somehow putting this set on incorrectly made Chitose shiver a bit. A quick look down at her chest showed that she was still covered up, though... even though technically she had nothing under the bra to hide in the first place. It still felt like something intimate to the teenager, though, and that's what mattered in the end.

Regardless, with that worry squashed, Chitose didn't need to think too long to realize that her new friend was actually embarassed about the question she had just asked. Smiling over towards Madelin, the resin girl pulled herself out of the sand and walked over towards the albino with her sandals sinking into the sand every now and then. She then patted the side of Madelin's leg in an effort to comfort her, "Hey, you do not have to worry about it so much, you can ask me anything and I won't think of any of it as silly or anything of the sort. I arrived on Manta Carlos a week ago. As for what time it was when I met you, um..." Chitose paused for a second, putting a tiny finger on the bottom of her chin as she thought, "Well, I planned to arrive on the beach by about noon, so I am sure that we met ten after noon or so," the teenager surmised.

Madelin listened to Chitose her words, silently wondering if she was a comic writer or something like that. She didn’t knew much about things like that being in the books as far as she could remember. The resin girl seemed to be happy talking about it, making her smile slightly, it would be nice to see her work, maybe she would be willing to show it sometime. It’s always nice to see what others can do, especially if there’s the possibility of learning of them.

In this kind of weather the sand was nice to look at, her footprints where visible in the sand, seeing as the sand there had slightly sunken. Hopefully Chitose would go over to some other subject, she felt warm, not surprised if her head would be bright red. She looks at the footprints again and thinks about the few days they had spent at sea, her family never went into the public often. The beach was one of the few things they had gone to together.

A gentle pat on her leg takes her back from her memory and she sits up straight, looking around confused until she realizes that it’s probably Chitose. Her suspicion is confirmed when she hears her talk. Looking at the side she can see her point a finger up and it takes her a moment of two before she realizes that the time had been told to her. “Noon huh, I thought it would be later.” Frowning Madelin puts one of her legs underneath the other, making her sit crossed and leaning towards Chitose. “Arrived just a week ago? I guess we’re both new than eh?” She smiles shortly before continuing. “I don’t wish to pry, but may I ask how old you are? I wouldn’t think you to be really old, but I’m pretty bad at guessing ages. Sorry about that.” She sheepishly runs her hand through her hair before looking at the sun again.

Madelin bites her lip before glancing over her bag and then at the end over her sleeves. It was pretty warm now, with the coat, the shirt and the undershirt. Sighing Madelin sits up and quickly unties the coat, making it fall open next to her, a brown with red striped shirt shows up from underneath it when she leans forward to grab her water bottle. She looks at Chitose before smiling, “Sorry, I don’t handle heath too well.” she takes a few sips from her drink before screwing the cap on the bottle again. “That’s… better” A soft sigh escapes her lips before putting the bottle in her lap.
