With that she agreed, it did not matter anymore. Broen was gone and nothing she could do would ever bring him back. And the idea of that, if she allowed it to take hold, still left her cold and numb, and extremely heartbroken.

"Don't apologize, please. I admit that it does hurt to talk about him, but it feels good in a way, cathartic, I guess," she admitted glancing at Frederick and wishing that somehow thingshadt been different for each of them.

"And I don't know if I've been understanding or not," she said glancing at her hands for a moment before continuing,"But I have lost way too much lately, and I just can't be angry anymore. It's extremely exhausting, it doesn't make me feel better, and more importantly, it achieves nothing, Broen is gone, and nothing I can ever say or do will change that fact."

Cathartic. He supposed it was. An airing of grievances. He does feel more relaxed, even if it feels strange to feel relaxed when she was still so obviously distressed.

"You're right," he said. "And you have been. It's good to have a chance to talk to someone about things. Really, to talk to anyone at all. It's hard not to feel isolated like this."

He pushed himself upright, heading towards the kitchen.

"Would you like anything? A drink? Dinner?"

Zora looked curiously at the time when Frederick mentioned dinner, and saw that it was in fact, fairly late in the afternoon. She had been there quite a few hours just talking and had not even noticed the passage of time.

"Dinner would be nice, thank you. I'd have said a drink, but I really haven't eaten anything all day," she admitted sheepishly, not really wanting to go back to her hotel yet either. She knew if she was left alone with her thoughts, she'd just end upset, and today, aside from a few hiccoughs, had been, quite surprisingly, a fairly good day for her.

Hm. Well, that was a new problem. He quickly rifled through his cupboards, checking the fridge before wincing.

"I have the ingredients for a basic risotto, and not much else," he admitted. "I haven't done groceries yet this week, and most of what I cook is fairly basic. Maybe I could order Chinese...?"

Cooking for her would not impress. If he cooked for her she was likely to end up either extremely bored, or sick from some kind of food poisoning. He was very aware of his lack of culinary skill.

"While Chinese is fine, I don't want to inconvenience you this evening," Zora said as she slowly got to her feet. She really didn't want to put Frederick on the spot by overstaying her welcome. Though she had to admit that it had been a rather pleasant afternoon despite the sombreness surrounding her visit.

"No no," he said, waving her concerns off. "It's not an inconvenience at all. I wouldn't mind Chinese at all, I just don't want to give you any of my cooking. Still learning, and all that." He didn't want to exaggerate his skill level, and he still had to finish.

"I can order it right now, if you'd like. Any allergies?"

"If you are sure..?" she stated somewhat hesitantly, looking at him for some type of object as she sat back down in the chair. Noting that there was none, that he truly seemed okay with her staying, Zora quickly shook her head.

"Nope, no allergies," she said, smiling a little at his explanation, "And I am not really fussy, though I can't say I am a huge fan of tofu, so aside from that, I'm open to whatever you'd like to order."

Frederick dug a menu out of one of his drawers, pulling out the phone the island had provided him with to make the call.

Thirty minutes later, a man with wings delivered the food, and Frederick set it down on the table, retrieving some plates to set them out.

"No dining room, I'm afraid," he said with a sigh. "I probably don't need it, but I got used to eating while sitting at a big table."

It had never been necessary. At it's biggest, his entire family was five people counting himself. He rarely entertained at home, anyway.

"I imagine you're used to eating with family?"

Zora took the plates and cutlery from Federick as he unpacked the food from them. "Smells good," she said as she set a plate before each of them as well as a knife and fork. "I haven't had Chinese in quite a while actually."

"No, not really, I am used to eating at my desk, and when Broen was free, with him," she admitted as she watched him open the containers of food. "Lately, though, I've spent more time with my aunt and her family, but normally, it's just myself, maybe Felen, maybe my assistant,¨she explained, knowing as she spoke that it was not a great way to live, but what else could she do?

Frederick set about distributing the food, making sure they both got a bit of each before starting to eat himself.

"Felen?" He said, raising an eyebrow. That was a name he hadn't heard before. He knew of her aunt, and that she had kids. But Felen was a name he'd never heard before, totally unfamiliar.
