
Marian would have given James a pat on the head for going along with her. A kiss on the cheek was just perfect and she could just read the uneasiness in Anna's eyes. It wasn't too obvious, she could hand it too her, but the shade was closely watching. Be it jealousy or some form of protectiveness for the likes of her, Marian got what she wanted.
"I think flutes sound really cute to use for magic," she said, ""Except I guess it sounds a little scary to use it to summon the dead-- which was a lie. Marian would have loved summoning the dead with a flute. It fit her aesthetic so perfectly. "It would be cooler to use it like snake charmers though, wouldn't it?"
Hearing Anna keep talking was making things clearer for Marian; and she was confident in how she observed her people. She was taking to James' word obviously, but she had an inkling who she was looking at, it seemed. Unlike James' the girl had enough sense not to fall for the trap she'd made. Marian subtly licked her lips at the thought--she liked a little challenge. She smiled, a sickly sweet one Anna would have noticed right away. "James has been super! He's really wonderful, I couldn't have asked for anyone else."
