Most of the time, Klay wanted to be alone. Most of the time, she had a mask. And finally, most of the time, she loved books.
Hey, she may have a mask, no voice, and much of her time taken, but she always found a place for reading. The last time she was here, some girl tried to push her off her perch on top of a book shelf. This time, she picked a higher one, where no ladder would reach. Of course, she could have flown up, but that would have taken the fun out of it. So she had climbed.
Now, she was on her stomach, reading an interesting novel. It was, like the last, a childrens novel, but Klay didn't care. She didn't want to sit around reading about aliens on mars or gory horrors. She found the childrens novels most amusing. Thats why this was her fourteenth. As she turned pages, she started to look up now and then, gazing down at the people below her. They could see her, all right, but only if they wanted to crane their necks. Sure, lets go look up at the masked girl, who's reading kids books. The thought made herr chuckle.

Mat wandered into the library quietly. How crappy of a first day, he was already assigned homework by his teacher to do research on his power so as he wouldn't accidentally find a conductor to multiply it with and hurt someone. Pfft, as if he didn't already know about that, he wasn't a first grader. He wanders through the isles boredly before coming to the one below the girl on the top who was reading her book. He couldn't see her very well, but he could hear her as she turned the pages of her book. Sometimes the whole ultra hearing deal got to be a pain. Finally he finds a book on the subject he needed and pulls it out, looking through it uninterested.

Klay's eye had already wandered to the boy as he entered, and when he saw her, she shrugged and turned back to her book. Not that she cared if some people stared at her. None of them had tried to come up here, and if they did, she could ignore them. She wondered if this boy was different from the others, like the few others she met. He reminded her about the little dog that had played with her, and she smiled softly at the memory.

Okay..Now he was curious. He was barely able to pay attention to the book he was looking at, just out of sheer curiosity of the girl on the shelf. He looks up and notices a light above her, Oh, convenient! He then walks over to a nearby electrical outlet and gets sucked in. He had only done this a few times, traveling though electrical wirings, but he had a decent idea of what to do. He sped through the wires that led to the light before arriving at the light. The was a small area between the rubber part of the wire and the light he was able to squeeze through. He slid through, a little streak of static and reformed on top of the shelf in front of her. "Ok..I'm sorry, but I have to know why you're reading all the way up here."

klay didn't look up. She had seen stranger things than boys having the ability to come from light or something. She wanted to answer, but she couldn't, and just turned the page. She sighed and her eyes flicked up at him, then looked at her book. Her mask fluttereed a bit from a breeze coming through an air shaft, but then settled, revealing nothing that was below it.

Mat sighs and shakes his head, Odd much? he thinks to himself as he sees her mask. He had never seen anyone where anything like that and he controlled the urge to burst out laughing. Judging by the fact that she didn't answer he assumed she either didn't want to, or couldn't, and she didn't look like someone who would just ignore a question. With a sigh, he glances down at the ground and swings his legs out over the edge, sitting on the top and looking down below. Wow, super high up here.

Klay turned another page, her eyes zipping down through the lines. Since it was a childrens book, she could read it easily. She turned the page again, trying ot ignore the fact someone was up here. Of course, she could close her book and fly out one of the open windows. But that would be rude. Or at least, make her seem rude, which she was trying not to be. It was hard not being able to speak and not be rude at the same time.
Very hard.

Mat glances over at her, peering from the edge of his sunglasses. His hair kind of got in the way, but he ignored it. He notices the books she's reading is a children's book and smiles, Wow..that's pretty cool..Most people would be too afraid to read a children's book in front of others. He was about to ask what the book was but stops short as he remembers she can't talk. He just turns his head and looks back down at the ground quietly.

Klay looked up at him and catch him looking at her. Her eyebrow went up, and she guessed he was wondering why would she was reading a kid book when she could be reading gory horror stories. She wondered if he thought she was weird for wearing a mask. Well, she wasn't. She was wearing it so she wouldn't be laughed at.

Sighing he shakes his head and rises to his feet. He was feeling a little awkward, heights weren't exactly his thing and sitting on the edge of a bookshelf wasn't making him feel to comfortable. He takes a deep breath and leaps to the next one, sitting back on it comfortably, "Ahhh...much better..."
