Luke was still apprehensive as he slowly walked down the sidewalk. The bracelet he had received earlier in the week managed to block out the emotions of those around him, however he continued to pick at the bracelet. Being cut off from everyone was a relief, as it meant he could function as a normal human being for once. Yet at the same time, he found the prospect of being around so many people daunting.

The noise of the city as daily life continued awed him. Coming from a small town in Norway, he wasn't quite prepared for all the noise. Nor was he prepared for the people. Due to his short statue, he ended up in a strange dance. Part gymnastics, part ninja techniques. As he was forced to jump out of the way every-time someone who wasn't paying attention to the vertically challenged decided to nearly run into him. "You'd think people would learn to be more aware.." Leucos muttered. Annoyed after his latest run in with a large man who was either blind, or just oblivious.

He turned to look back at the boy he had dragged along to act as his guide. "Hey, Jake. I have absolutely no idea where we're going..Uh..where's the office supply store again..?" He blushed as he realized they had been walking aimlessly for a good ten minutes.

Jake trailed behind the small, grey haired boy who he agreed to go furniture shopping with. He barely knew the guy but he remembered when he first arrived; having someone to turn to was important, especially on an island inhabited with beings regarded as fictional or mythological. Plus, he had a lot of spare time to kill, why not fill it with chair shopping?

Watching Luke's strange routine of meandering through the crowd of people, Jake couldn't help but laugh to himself. Though he had a similar power to Luke, he seemed to be in less control of it and that is saying something. Emotions streamed to him at random intervals and he could focus in on a particular person if he wanted; this didn't seem the case for Luke.

"Erm... I was following you," he responded. He imagined Luke was grateful that he had such a helpful guide along with him. Aimlessly following people was something he did alot, even if the other person didn't know where they were going too. Despite doing it over and over, he still didn't learn that it got him nowhere.

Luke's head swiveled back and forth as he scanned the shops, hopelessly trying to find the correct one. "No..that's not it. I'm pretty sure that one's a diner..Oh! A music store! No..focus Luke, focus.." He muttered to himself. "Jake, do you have any idea where the store is? I'm honestly lost." Luke said as he dodged yet another person. He huffed and crossed his arms over his chest.

"I really hate people sometimes." Luke said, although he made sure to keep his voice down in order to avoid offending the general populace. Just as he was about to take another step forward, yet another person darted out from one of the shops and nearly blindsided him. Luke managed to jump back in time, although his sudden moment sent him falling backward.

On his way towards the ground, Luke shouted a series of Norwegian expletives, words that one wouldn't expect to come out of such an innocent and small teenager.

Luke's frantic darting and muttering still made Jake giggle, though he wouldn't want to show it. He often referred to himself like mustard, you either hate him or love him. Unlucky for Jake, most people found him quite annoying. "This is just a guess but I'm pretty sure it's in the city somewhere." Not helpful, he thought to himself.

"You not got a phone or summet to search it on, or maybe just ask someone." After saying it, Jake thought about whether anything about the island would be on the internet. It was, after all, an island protected by magic, hidden from the rest of the world.

As the smaller boy began to fall back, Jake's reflexes kicked in as he crouched and caught him before hitting the ground. Helping him back to his feet, he sighed, "this really wasn't the best idea, was it?" They could have planned it out better, asking about the shop before they actually tried to find it in a crowded city.

"Th-thank you!" Luke said as he stood up and brushed himself off. He attempted to hide his face by staring at the ground, although his embarrassment was hard to miss. "Damn it you clumsy idiot!" He thought to himself. "W-we should keep looking." Luke said as he shuffled forward.

"Just calm down. You shouldn't be freaking out over physical contact..it was nothing major.." Luke's inner monologue continued for quite some time. However he was so lost in thought he lost track of his surroundings. And in the process, stepped off the sidewalk and into the road. Oblivious to everything, and everyone.

Jake could literally feel the awkwardness emanating off of Luke. The guy was even worse than him. "No problem." They continued to wander aimlessly, not knowing if they were going in the right direction or not.

Before he realised, Luke was in the middle of the road, appearing lost in thought. Jake sped across to him, pouncing at him in order to avoid a collision with the moving traffic, pushing off his back legs. They landed at the other side. "Jesus, Luke! You're gonna get yourself killed. One more second and you'd have been a freshly squeezed tomato."

After a couple of seconds to come to his senses, Jake leapt up, offering a hand to the other guy. This kid seriously needs someone with him at all times. Who knew looking for a desk chair would be so eventful, or dangerous.

Luke's eyes were wide as he stared up at Jake. "Y-..you saved me.." He said, almost as if he was having a hard time comprehending the situation. He took Jake's hand and stood up, his emotions were a mess. Fear, awe, gratitude, and some deeper, more repressed emotion all mixed together effectively rendering Luke speechless. His mouth opened and closed several times in a vain attempt to speak.

Finally tired of failing to formulate words, Luke pointed down the street a ways, and there at the end was the office supply store. He began walking, albeit at a slower and more careful pace. The reason neither of them had noticed the shop was due to the fact they were on the wrong side of the street.

"T-thank you again..Jake.." He said quietly. It was odd, he didn't think anyone cared enough about him to go out of their way and make sure he didn't end up flattened. His friends back home merely hung around him in order to use the weird kid who could sense emotions. Luke self-consciously crossed his arms and hugged himself, his emotions darkened due to the unwanted memories that seemed determined to come to the forefront of his mind.

"Of course I did, I don't think I could carry on this dangrous journey for the sacred desk chair without you," he began in a dramatic voice. "Actually, I wouldn't have to get the chair if you were a pancake. Damn, shame I can't turn back time." He was joking, of course. Jake would never wish harm on anyone, especially people he liked. The wolf, on the other hand, didn't always share that view. It had a slightly aggressive nature that he liked to think could be kept under control, though that wasn't always the case.

Sensations suddenly hit Jake; a strange ensemble of emotions from Luke. Closing his eyes and taking in a deep breath, he managed to suppress the empathy. It wasn't his place to pry into people's feelings unless it was totally necessary.

"Thank god. I was beginning to consider eatin' someone to keep me goin'." The shop wasn't too far away, just down the street. As they were walking, Luke's emotions began to flood back again, darker this time. He considered asking if he was alright but he'd then know he was sensing his emotions. Granted it wasn't intentional but Jake decided to just look at him concerningly.

Luke glanced back at Jake and shrugged to himself. "Don't tell me you actually eat people.." Luke said with a joking tone in his voice. As they reached the shop, Luke pulled out the remnants of a magazine ad he had cut out which displayed the chair he had come to purchase. "Now then, onward noble steed!" Luke said as he pointed imperiously towards the door.

"If he actually opens the door, I'll be very surprised." Luke thought to himself as he momentarily forgot the several people who were staring at the gray haired boy who stood in front of a furniture store. Certainly not the oddest thing they've ever laid eyes upon, however it was the pose that he had struck, as if he had just conquered North America and was now pointing towards some far off land.

As he became aware of the passersby, Luke slowly lowered his arm and smirked sheepishly at Jake. "Uh..that was really loud..erm.." He said in a vain attempt to avoid further embarrassment, although the all too familiar blush was already present as his face turned a wonderful shade of scarlet.

"I only eat grey haired ones," he joked. Obviously he didn't eat people, that would be gross. Would it be cannibalism if a werewolf ate a human, he thought but thoughts like that weren't worth being spoken out loud.

Jake just looked at Luke with one eyebrow raised when they got to the shop. "What the fuck are ya doin'?" he chuckled. "I ain't no horse." Noticing all of the people staring at Luke and his face slowly changed to a shade of red, he couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Yeah, it was a bit."

Opening the door, he gave one more small laugh and entered. Looking back at luke, Jake said, "come on, Lancelot. Let's go find you're throne."
