This would allow Celeste, if somebody is very ill or near death, she could pull them back enough that they would recover, not die. This does not mean she heals them completely, only that they have been cured enough that they will become better eventually.
On the negative spectrum, Celeste could take a simple illness and further it along, make it worse almost, but not, to the brink of death, if she so chooses.
Both options would cause Celeste great effort, leaving her exhausted, and possibly without magic for a certain amount of time depending how much energy she needs to use to reverse an effect or cause the negative effect of an illness to get worse.
