Uh oh, Solitude thought when she saw that grin. She kept her unafraid look, still daring him to do something. As he walked toward her on his knees, though, she swallowed a bit, knowing he was probably going to force feed her. He then took the bowl from her and sat on her hands, which caused her to try and wriggle the limbs free. The blonde woman hated having this lack of freedom!

As he pinched her nose close, the seventeen year old officially started squirming around a bit. It hurt, but she didn't want to be fed like a child. She kind of wanted to breathe, too. Breathing was good, and necessary for her to live through this.

As he pushed the edge of the spoon to her lips, Solitude stopped struggling, and instead stuck out her tongue and tried to push it away, taking in a slight breath as she did so. Maybe she was a little desperate for freedom, but really, what seventeen year old wants to be ordered around and fed like they're five? She continued to try and push the spoon away with her tongue, but wasn't really succeeding. Seeing as how the girl wasn't too strong, and she was using her tongue, her efforts obviously wouldn't be worth much.

She stopped and decided to admit to her defeat. Solitude rarely did this, but she supposed she had to for this situation. She pulled her tongue back into her mouth and took a breath, closing her eyes tightly and preparing for the disgusting food he had prepared to be placed in her mouth.

Satisfied that she had given up trying to push away the food, Nathaniel let her have her breath before he gave her a spoon full of rabbit. He let go of her nose and picked the bowl with his now freed hand. Daring her to continue struggling, he fed her what was left in the bowl before getting of her hands and off the bed.

Standing up, he repressed the bout of dizziness that came over him, hiding it as soon as it had started. He only paused a few seconds, going over to the sink to clean both their cutlery (sp). He let them there while he transformed in his hybrid form and taking the pan and its cover to put outside since there wasn't a refrigerator in the home.

The hybrid dug a hole next to the door and buried the pan full of rabbit soup in it before covering it all with a bunch of snow. He went back inside and brought snow with him to clean the dishes. He did it with accuracy for someone who hadn't lived with humans since he was a little kid.

He scrubbed the bowls and spoons clean and then left it to dry on the counter. Walking back to the bed, still in his hybrid form , he settled near his patient, tucking her in a proper sleeping position. He took one of the blankets he had used to prop her up and curled into it, wanting to call it quite for the night.

Solitude scrunched up her face when the spoon full of rabbit entered her mouth, and quickly chewed and forced herself to swallow. She had almost gagged through that, but had been able to keep herself from doing so. As soon as he finished feeding her, she started coughing, trying her best to keep it all down. That had been pretty bad. The seventeen year old was going to ask for a drink of water, but decided not to, since she didn't want to bother him too much.

Feeling tired again, the young woman closed her eyes, tuning out the sound of him working in the kitchen and cleaning everything up. By the time he was tucking her in, Solitude had already fallen asleep, and didn't even notice when he curled up on the bed near her. The female was officially out for the night.

Nathaniel hadn't slept well, in fact, he hadn't slept at all that night. Well, he had kind of dozed off once, but that didn't really count as real sleep. The silver eyes blinked furiously against the sun that was batting down his eyelids. Muttering a few curses under his breath, curses that were not meant to anyone's ears but his own. Of course, he wasn't really low enough not to be heard.

Being careful as to not jerk his own and Solitude's injuries, he grimaced slightly as he stretched in his hybrid form. His eyes wandered over the injured girl, taking in the state she was in, checking on her vital signs. Sighing softly in relief when he saw she was indeed alive and relatively well, he turned to look out of the window.

The weather had calmed down, the heavy clouds having mostly drifted away during the storm. The sun was half hidden by some leftover clouds though. The snow had stacked high upon the ground and he was sure that in her current state she would not be able to travel that much. Sighing, the young amn got out of bed and walked towards the door, he opened it and dug for the pot he had left there the night before.

No predator had touched it and the rabbit was frozen. He would have to heat it before giving it to the girl. He placed the pot next to the still roaring fire and dug in the rabbit to get part of it out of the cauldron and in another, smaller one where he would put a ration for him and the weakened girl he was taking care of.

He placed the smallish pot over the fire and dropped the other back in its snow hole. He came back inside and took part of the rabbit meat he had placed on the fire. He ate it quickly, not really being hungry at the moment.

Solitude was knocked out, sleeping deeply. Even someone shaking her roughly and screaming in her ears probably wouldn't have awoken her. Nathaniel's curses had done nothing to her sleeping form — she hadn't moved or showed any sign of stirring at all.

As he checked her wounds, she flinched slightly, but she still didn't wake up. It hurt, what could she say?

Misery was probably worried sick about her. After all, the two had been there for each other their whole lives, and having not been to her dorm room last night must have scared her older sister. She just hoped that the leopard wouldn't get beaten because of her sister's over-protectiveness.

Once she smelled something cooking, though, her eyes opened slightly. She could see everything clearly, which was good, though her whole body was still in pain. She turned her head slightly to look at the fire, and watched him as he ate. "Please tell me I'm not going to have to eat rabbit again," Solitude said with a sigh.

"What do you want me to feed you? Dirt perhaps, personally, I could go for some rocks myself." He told grumpily.

He usually was not this cranky or abrupt, but when you're not feeling well, you are not inclined to be all sunshine and daisies.

"I'm going to make pine tea later, it'll taste like crap, but it will give us some vitamins and avoid us getting scurvy from not eating vegetables and stuff…" He told off handly, taking the rabbit he had placed on the fire to heat and placed it in Sol's bowl from the day before.

"You better have finished eating it before I come back." He told her as he gave her her bowl of rabbit 'soup'.

He then went outside to look for more food and preferably something she would not complain on too much. He was starting to tire of her constant whining, he was starting to think it would have been better if he just let her die, but the thought was swept aside as soon as it came, it was not an option.

Nathaniel was gathering food, some things that would taste bad but would provide nourishing for the both of them, pine needles, pine cones… he even went as far as bring back some part of the inside of the bark of one of the trees, it was known to help with both fever and pain.

He made his way back to the cabin, not wanting to be out in the cold for too long. He had his arms full and his breathing was laboured when he arrived. He opened the door and leaned against it as it closed to regain his breath. He had closed his eyes, counting each breath in and out to calm his racing heartbeat.

"What do you want me to feed you? Dirt perhaps, personally, I could go for some rocks myself."

Solitude rolled her eyes. She was the mean one, not him — how dare he try to take on that roll himself! "Oh, sorry, but I don't eat dirt. Guess you'll have to find something else, grouch." People these days. They never knew how to talk to or handle others. Oh, well, not her fault. She wasn't the one that had gone wild, attacked someone, and didn't even have decent food to give them, now was she?

"I'm going to make pine tea later, it'll taste like crap..."

"Pfft, thanks for the warning. I'll prepare my taste buds." Honestly. What did he want her to say to that?

"You better have finished eating it before I come back."

The young woman scrunched up her nose in disgust and looked down at the rabbit. She wanted to ask something, but he had left before she could. If he could go out to get food, then why couldn't he just go to the school and have someone from there get her? It didn't seem too difficult to her.

She took a few bites of the soup, but she hadn't finished, or even gotten half way done when he returned. She stared at him, getting ready to ask what the consequences for this were going to be, when she noticed how he was breathing. "If you die on me, I'm gonna be ticked," she warned, not a hint of concern for his condition in her voice.

Nathaniel, or as he was often called, Snowpaw, had not paid attention to what she had been saying before he went to get some food, he was not aware she had played the big bad patient yet again. The reason he had not been going to the school to get someone that could get the young woman off his hands was that he simply was not in any shape to go there at the moment.

Not that Solitude had managed to hurt him, but the fact that he had fallen through ice in a cold lake, he could very well have hypothermia and not know he has it. Plus, a shard of ice had managed to pierce his chest and had probably damaged his lungs. Alltogether, it was understandable he couldn't run to the school and back within a week.

He was probably devellopping pneumonia or something of the like but was too self sufficient to admit it. Plus, he could not let weakness show in front of this annoying woman.

"Thanks for your concern." He snapped back.

She might be saying that, but the story would probably be different if he suddenly keeled over and died. He would leave her all alone to fend for herself without food or medecine, wouldn't that be just great?

"Now shut up and eat." He ordered darkly.

The young man pushed himself off the door and managed not to stagger as he walked over to the fire. He placed what he had gathered in front of it and kneeled stiffly. He had to make the tea he had promised to do. He plucked the pine needles off the branch and put them in a waiting cauldron of hot water, he then put in the bark.

It would probably taste like crap, but it would certainly be effective. He let it simmer and stood. At that moment, he swayed just a little bit on his feet and gripped the back of the chair next to the fire with a white knuckled grip. He quickly regained his balance and sat in the chair, putting his face in his hands in both exasperation and exhaustion.

And of course he left before he could hear her comeback. Solitude was left there again on her own and a soft sigh escaped her. Even if her name meant utter loneliness, she was beginning to get tired of her name repeatedly defining who she was. It didn't matter, though. The blonde would get over it. She had lived this way her whole life, she would have to accept it one day soon.

"Thanks for your concern."

He had returned and had shot back with that comment. Solitude merely rolled her eyes and sighed. "Well forgive ME," she snapped right back, not in the mood anymore. Her patience was becoming thin, just as she was sure his was. She was sick of the arguing and she just wanted to go back to the academy. "You attacked me and you're going to deal with me. Either get used to me or take me back to the school."

"Now shut up and eat."

Solitude merely watched him and let out another sigh. He seemed tired... and a general concern came to her eyes for a moment and she sat up, slowly moving her legs off the side of the bed. Maybe she wasn't ready to walk, but it he needed help, then she could do it. She had been through tough experiences before, this wouldn't be any different. "You should rest," she said. "You don't exactly look like you should be up and about and cooking. Let me help you?" It was phrased as a question, but in the end, she would probably do what she pleased unless she was strapped down to the bed and not be prohibited to move.

Her comeback to his words didn't exactly ease his bad mood any. He looked at her from between his fingers, one eye sought hers, a low threatening growl emitting from him. It was a warning that he wasn't in any mood for that type of verbal match. It reminded anyone hearing it of his feral leopard side. He knew he had done that, he didn't want to be reminded of it, thank you very much. His only visible silver eye was locked on her form, he was annoyed. As that was mentioned before, he was in no shape to run all the way to the school pulling her along, he couldn't even stand easily. He had caught something, that and his unique wound hadn't helped. At least Sol's injuries were only flesh wounds, they could heal easily enough, even if she had a lot of them. He didn't seek any pity from anyone, he was used to be alone, just as solitude was, hell, he had lived alone for the last ten years or so. What made her think he needed any help?

"Well excuse me if I don't feel like obeying your every whim." He retorted, voice full of venom. "Its not my fault that water was so [insert swear word here] cold that I can't put one foot in front of the other now."

As she sat up, he was surprised she was even able to move, but she seemed to be better. He hid his surprise though and just continued glaring at her. If she was able to sit up, it meant he would be rid of her soon, and that pleased him greatly, he could only take so much of her whining. He wouldn't play the concerned mother, if she was able to move and be up and about, he would not keep her from doing so. It was not really his place to do so, besides, he couldn't stand at the moment, so pushing her back on the bed was out of the question.

"Look at yourself before telling me that." He replied tiredly. "You should be moving even less than I."

He pushed himself to his feet with gritted teeth and leaned against the mantle of the fire place, taking the pot where the tea was simmering out of the fire by sheer force of will. If he hadn't had anybody to take care of, he would have slept for at least three days straight before even thinking of doing anything, but for now, he had Solitude to take care of. He walked over to the counter, well, more like wobbled, and picked the cleaned bowls and poured tea in it, making sure the bits and pieces of various plants wouldn't get into the tea itself, that would be disgusting. He came back leaning against the wall lightly with one elbow while both his hands were occupied with the bowls. He would save her the trouble of getting herself out of bed to help him as he trudged to the bed and sat there, giving her the bowl without saying anything more. He looked pointedly at her, she would have to finish her bowl of soup and the tea. He didn't feel like forcefeeding her again. He sipped at his tea without much complain, some of his bloodstained white hair falling across his face. It was her blood.

"I'm in no mood to argue with you, so eat and drink, because there is nothing else and I can't let you starve." He said to her between sips.

It tasted awful, but he didn't let it show on his face. He had eaten much worse over the years and because of that, he could eat almost anything. He finished his bowl and set it aside before leaning against the wall and looking at her.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.
