"I don't know! You're the criminal mastermind here!!"

Damien sighed and went silent at that. If she kept thinking that he was a criminal mastermind, as she had put it, it was going to rip him apart. Hopefully she would get her memory back... and if not, Tristan was dead.

He spread out his arms, then pointed to himself. "Do I really look like a criminal mastermind?"

He wasn't the smartest person around, nor did he really look the part.

"You HIRED someone to kill me!?"

Time to explain. "One of my enemies did it... he hates me and, since you're pretty much my only friend, wanted to make both of our lives miserable by hurting you."

This was definitely going to be complicated.

"Do I really look like a criminal mastermind?"

Brielle scowled. "Do I look like I would know what a criminal mastermind looks like?"

"One of my enemies did it... he hates me and, since you're pretty much my only friend, wanted to make both of our lives miserable by hurting you."

"How do I know you're not lying?" Brielle raised an eyebrow. His story wasn't UNbelievable, but Brielle wasn't sure if she could trust him yet.

Brielle wavered. His smile was kind of cute. And people with cute smiles didn't kill innocent girls, right?

But what if Brielle WASN'T innocent? What if SHE was a murderer?

She looked at Damien suspiciously. "You know me well, yes?"

She looked at him incredulously. "Vous parlez Francais?" Brielle didn't even realize she had answered in French.

Brielle shrugged. "De nouveau à ma question originale. Avoir I jamais cassé la loi?" She asked him. Back to my original question. Have I ever broken the law?

It sounded weird to say, but if she was evil, that would explain them being friends.

Damien blinked. That was really weird to ask... really weird. "Not that I know of," he said truthfully. To his current knowledge, she had never done anything that broke the law. After all, she had tried to stop Tristan from setting off that bomb, and she had whacked him over the head. It didn't seem like she was the type to do actions like his, and therefore she couldn't have broken the law.

Brielle didn't reply. Maybe he wasn't lying. Maybe he was telling the truth. Because if she wasn't a villain, she couldn't know a villain really, really well. Unless they were related. Which would make sense, since they both knew French. "Are we related?" She asked him.
