Mostly, Cade only ever shopped for enough to fill a basket, rather than a whole cart. Easier to drop if you needed to. Easier yet to swing at someone. Okay, so maybe his mind was a bit violent. Who cared? It amused him to imagine different, violent ways of smashing annoying market goers heads in. Fun times.
He glanced at his basket, mentally checking off his list. Milk, eggs, bread, kitchen knives, some of that over the counter medicine that helped people to sleep, and a very sharp and pointy meat thermometer. Yup, that all looked about right.
As to whether he'd be using all, or most of his current basket for kitchen related shenanigans -- that depended on how one looked at it.
Uri enjoyed going to the grocery store. Her days off were usually spent either studying or baking / cooking things for random homeless shelters and such. She was currently shopping for ingredient's for her famous carrot cake. She knew it was stereotypical to be a rabbit and like carrots but for some reason she just had to have them.
She currently had way more carrots than anyone should need I'm her carriage. As well eggs, milk, cheese, touch, soba noodles, and multiple kinds of broth. She had turned away from the fish aisle she did not need that temptation. She was currently trying to decided which green peppers look the healthiest when her carriage accidentally got away from her.
Maybe she shouldn't have leaned on it. She quickly teleported in front of the carriage, almost bumping into an innocent by stander as she stopped her carriage. "Hmm, well I did need apples" she said scurrying off to the other side of the display to avoid the person she had almost bumped into. She mumble an apology and felt bad, she had to pay more attention to what she was doing.

He wheeled in front of her as she made way for the Apple display, reaching his free hand out to catch the front of her carriage, so she didn't ram into him next. "Woah, where's the fire?"
He spared a glance at the woman the bunny girl had almost run into. The lady was still sneering before she shook herself off and huffed away the opposite direction, apparently offended at the lack of a loud, public apology.
Cade checked her from head to slow. It was good she couldn't see where his eyes wandered behind his dark sunglasses, it gave him the freedom to linger on another he wished. She seemed soft; Caden liked pretty things. He made the mental note that by the end of this meeting, he would touch them and what was more, she'd want him to.
Uri paused when someone came up to her, no no no she had not been expecting this. She was just gonna grab her stuff and go, she needed to get out. Yet for some reason, and she would later say that it was all the apples...she stayed. "I-It's the apples, you know, you have to get them before they're all gone" Even in her head that sounded like a lame excuse before she said it, but she had still said it.
She noticed the lady's sneer and frowned, she had tried to apologize but didn't think shouting would be considerate to the other shoppers. Of course a run away carriage because she was not thinking straight, was also inconsiderate but she couldn't borrow trouble at the moment. At the moment some dude in sunglasses was trying to get inbetween her and apples.
She Busied her self with picking out the right apples, perhaps she could make an apple pie! She had all the stuff waiting for her back at home, minus the apples. What would summer be without apple pie. "You know, there's no sun in here- I mean...it has to be hard to see in those." She turned her whole body to hide the redness in her face, she hadn't meant to say that out loud.

Cade reached over the bunny girl to grab a shiny apple from the back, a good mixture of red and yellow coloration. "If you're looking for sweet and fresh, the back is the way to go. Name?" He held the apple out to her, watching to see how she might react. Testing everything and making several mental notes.
Caden liked the shy, submissive ones. They were so flustered all the time. It was hard to resist making them notice you, or touch you. "Cute ears," he went on. "I can't imagine you'll be eating all this food alone? You making something for a party or a sale?"
Uri was surprised when he didn't leave. She thought she had been standoffish enough that he would. Of course she couldn't be standoffish, it was probably impossible for her. She was easily roped back into the conversation, it would be rude to ignore to the man in front or rather off to the side of her.
Uri did not squeak when he reached over her, nope she didn't she would deny it. She hadn't realized he was so close. "Uhm, okay thanks I'll remember that!" She said smiling despite her red face as she took the apple. She put it in her bag as she began to pile as many apples as she had carrots, before she realized it.
"T-Thanks" she stuttered out one of her ears moving side ways out of habit. She resisted the urge to tug at her own ears, a nervous habit of hers.
"U-uhm, no party, just myself..uhm I normally give some of it away"

"Oh? Who do you give it away to?" Cade, on the pretense of helping, continued finding the bunny girl the best apples he could. He wanted to stick around long enough to find all the information he could.
"You look pretty young. You one of the students at Starlight Academy?" Both because he found her awkwardness comical and because he needed to so he could pick out apples, Cade was still very close to her. His body didn't radiate warmth like most peoples did; it was cool. Not directly cold, but cool nonetheless and obvious. Like standing next to a ventilation system.
Uri resisted the urge to shiver, he was so close to her and she positive the coldness wasn't just coming from the many fridgerators in the store. "U-uhm the homeless, people less fortunate, that sort of thing" She probably had more apples than she needed, then again she could make apple sauce.
"Oh y-yeah I'm in my last year of college starting next term" She didn't know if she was gonna immediately become a teacher after working as a TA or just take off and relax. Either way she was probably going to be a teacher.
"Uh, uhm D-do you come around here a lot?" She asked not wanting to be rude and makebtue conversation one-sided. She reached out and tugged one of ears, sure that she had enough apples. She needed a nwlew distraction.

"Naturally," he said in response to her question. There wasn't a lot of options when it came to grocery shopping in Manta Carlos, so every month or two Cade came here, bought just enough to survive on and slunk off. Habits, habits, habits. He didn't need to eat, but he liked to be stocked up for company anyway.
"What are you studying?" Caden asked, putting distance between them once they had picked out all her apples. He looked down at the cart, obvious about it, and motioned. "Need anything else?" It was a subtle method of suggesting he would continue shopping with her.
Cade had nothing else to do that night, other than try and relax. She wasn't afraid, but he knew it wouldn't take long to really scare her. Her anxiety tasted sweet on his tongue.
Uri knew that was a stupid question, it was a grocery store. Still she had no idea what to say. Her mouth was suddenly going dry and she wasn't even hot. She had no idea how to process this, what even was she doing.
"I-ice cream and sundae ingredients...then I'm done" she said softly. She hasn't realized she had a way out offered to her. Even if she had she would've been way to take it. No she apparently had to do this the old fashion hard way.
Something about the guy seemed off, she couldn't put it into words, but it made her more anxious than normal. "My names Uri by the way, I-I don't think I answers you earlier" she said turning redder than she was as she pushed her cart towards the even colder ice cream aisle.
