Shul had seen a beach before, obviously. He remembered going to a beach few times when he was in coastal Europe or Japan. But he had once almost died of hypothermia in summer when he had spent too much time in the water. That had made him avoid even getting near beaches. But today he didn't mind being at the beach, since he knew he wouldn't have to even go near the water.
Shul was glad he had put on two jackets. Although it was already April the wind from the sea was kind of chilly and if Shul had put on normal clothes to this time of year he would've been kinda cold. But now he was kinda hot and that was just fine with him. He also looked little poofier than usual but Shul was thin from the get go so it didn't look that weird.
Shul stood at the edge of the beach, scouting the area. There weren't many people here today, of course, since the wind was nasty and it was cloudy. But Shul didn't mind, he was in a good mood. Well, he was in a good mood most of the time. But today his good mood had a reason.
That reason was the one Shul was waiting for. Sark was cool, and Shul had never been friends with a robot. Shul had been friends with all kinds of people but robot was indeed a first. It was awesome.
A gust of wind blew on Shul's face and made his blue hair flutter and teeth almost clatter. Robots were lucky, they didn't need to feel cold. Or at least he didn't think Sark felt cold? Shul'd have to ask.
Shul spaced out for a second, looking out to the sea. It was grey today, and it was so wide. Shul remembered all the adventures he had had beyond that sea, and got nostalgic. Maybe he would travel to a different world or planet some day, after a couple hundred years. Shul's mind kept wandering as he waited for Sark to arrive.

In the distance, along the beach, is a faraway black dot. From Shul's perspective, it could easily just be some object, or a someone far away. That's until the dot was rapidly becoming larger towards Shul's direction. As soon as Shul would be able to make out it's humanoid, he'd likely see the sand/dust cloud that was formed in the object's wake.

As the object drew ever closer and the humanoid figure was formed, it wouldn't be hard to guess it's Sark. Especially when you consider there is likely not that many humanoid robots with black body armour and black motorcycle helmet capable of running at speeds that it produces a dust cloud who would visit the beach.

His figure becomes larger and larger by the second as he sprints b-line to Shul. Sand cloud intensifies. Once close enough, Sark jumps up and looks like he's gonna dropkick Shul at incredibly high speeds but instead he just lands right in front of Shul and gently pokes him on the nose. "Boop."

Shul's view to the sea was suddenly disrupted by a black motorcycle helmet. Well, more like a base of one since Sark was some ways taller than Shul. But it didn't spook him any less. Shul had heightened senses and the sudden visual shock and boop to the nose made him yelp, unmanly high, and recoil backwards couple steps. And like the nonathletic chap he was Shul fell down on his ass. But instead of getting mad or even annoyed Shul broke out laughing and held his stomach.
"Oh man Sark, you scared the life out of me!"
Shul said as he stopped giggling and grinned up at Sark, not getting up.
"I'll forgive you for spooking me if you brought the hot chocolate as promised."

As soon as Sark booped Shul, he waited in eager anticipation for what he believed was going to be a fantastic reaction. He was not disappointed. When Shul yelped, you could see Sark physically hold his sides so he wouldn’t burst out laughing. The moment he saw Shul grin on the ground, he began laughing himself.

After a while of Sark just laughing as he occasionally pointed at Shul, he whiped an invisible tear from his visor and helped Shul up from the ground. “Dude, that scream.” He wheezed.

Then he presented a flask that was attached to his belt. He handed it over to Shul. “Tadaaaa.” He did a motion with his hands to accompany the noise. Shul would find the flask was quite warm, and as soon as he opened it, would find sweet hot chocolate.

Shul didn't mind people laughing at him, especially since this particular situation really had been funny. So Shul just took it gracefully when Sark laughed at him, snickering himself occasionally, and took the hand he offered after a while. Sark pulled him up with ease since Shul really was pretty flimsy.

"Oh Sark, you haven't even begun to hear me scream. That was a squeak at best."
Shul said grinning but felt his cheeks warm up a bit. It had been a bit embarrassing but again, Shul didn't mind. He considered the job well done since Sark was laughing.

Shul chuckled when Sark offered him a flask, should he say dramatically, and Shul wanted to meet the expectations. So he bowed a bit, it was actually becoming a habit thanks to Daichi, and took the flask. And sighed a bit just from the warmth. Before opening the flask Shul pushed it against his cheek, enjoying the heat.

"If this flask was just filled with hot water I wouldn't even get mad."
Shul said and chuckled as he lowered and opened the flask, thankfully finding it full of hot chocolate. Shul immediately took a test sip, and smiled widely at Sark.
"Not bad for a robot! This is good, my man. You're officially my favorite person on this island."
Shul said and winked playfully.

Sark turned from Shul and did a first pump “Yus.” He sounded like a proud child. He then turned back to Shul. “So, now that I have proven to be a competent hot chocolate maker...” He did a small thumbs up with a laugh.

He did a ‘come this way’ kind of gesture. “Shall we hang out like we arranged?” He had this sound to his voice like he’d be smiling. His head tilted ever so slightly as he asked this question.

He’d chuckle a little bit, his arms falling back to his sides. His head raised ever so slightly like he was smiling.

Sark made Shul laugh. It wasn't hard to make Shul laugh but Sark succeeded in it constantly. Shul grinned when Sark fist pumped and declared himself a competent hot chocolate maker with a thumbs up. Shul always thought he was goofy but Sark took it to a whole new level. It was awesome.
"Competent isn't an appropriate word describe it. I could say, as a hot chocolate maker, you're out of this world."
Shul made a really lame pun, pointing to the fact that Sark was a robot and an alien on top of that.

Shul didn't know how Sark could be so expressive even without having a face. But it was obvious as he gestured towards the beach and spoke that he was smiling. Shul smiled back and, with both of his hands wrapped around the so warm flask, walked next to Sark and grinned.
"With pleasure. I hope you succeed in making me love the beach."

Sark felt pretty happy that Shul was smiling so much. He was glad that Shul also approved of his hot chocolate making skills. But, he rolled his head in an exaggerated way similar to how people roll their eyes. “That was bad, you should be ashamed of yourself.” He had a casual and amused tone to his voice though to show he wasn’t actually mad.

As they started walking, Sark took rather comically short steps. On top of being fast in general, he had long legs so he could outpace his companion rather quickly. He... would rather not do that. He glanced sideways at Shul holding the flask and felt paying a bit extra money for the flask was worth it now.

He then looked at Shul. “I am determined to get you to like the beach.” His voice had an over the top stern voice but it had faded into half-laughter by the time he finished talking.

Shul snickered at Sark's reaction to his horrible pun. As expected of Sark, he hadn't let that slide.
"You're right, I shall never outlive this. Not in all my 111 years have I felt such shame."
Shul said with a shocked and dramatic tone but couldn't keep at it long and burst out laughing, sipping some more hot chocolate. Shul was still a bit chilly from the face but laughing kept him warm.

Shul was taking little longer steps than usual, noticing Sark's height and not wanting to bother him too much. When Shul normally walked he had a slow pace and irregular step sequence since he had the habit of stopping constantly to either watch that or talk to that person and so on. Even now as Shul watched around him he wanted to squat down to pick up a shell or stop and stare at a seagull floating on a squall above them. But he didn't want to be left behind Sark.

Shul looked in turn at Sark after he proclaimed his intentions and with a little smile on his face Shul cocked his eyebrow playfully.
"Try me."

Sark kept on occasionally side glancing at Shul, and noticed he was walking quite fast. “We could slow down, if you want.” He sounded perfectly fine with slowing down. If anything, he sounded like he’d want to. He just wanted Shul to enjoy his time at the beach.

Sark then ever so slightly lowered his head like he was doing some kind of glare. “Oh? That sounds like a challenge, mr dragon.” His voice was amused as his head raised back to normal. He couldn’t help a short laugh.

Sark stopped when he saw a load of shells and he crouched down to look at them. The way his head was tilted, his shoulders relaxed. He just seemed at peace and happy as he curiously looked at sea shells.
