Shiro flew threw the air on her staff, humming as she glanced at her phone, she was on time. Glancing down she'd see Kon waiting for her. She'd smile and wave before lowering and landing. "Heyo there," she'd say cheerfully and hopped from her staff, picking it up and leaning it against her shoulder.

"How you doing?" she'd hop in place a little, "ready for training?" She'd giggle, "I got my fire and ice, plus my extra limbs, all ready." The young cat girl was energetic and excited for this.

She'd lean on her staff, humming a bit, "plus, got coffee in me, so I need to burn through all my extra energy."

Kon sat up against a tree fidgeting with his phone. He told his resident assistant where he would be and what he was doing, just in case things went horribly wrong. A weakling messing around in the woods sounded like all kinds of stupid.

Those thoughts didn't torment Kon for long. Shiro arrived on time by flying on a staff, and she seemed more than happy to get started.

Kon returned her wave and stood up. "I'm all set and ready to go. Let's start burning through that energy! But first, let me say, let's start with your ice. Don't want you to get too excited and end up starting a forest fire."

With the caution warning out of the way, Konpeitou showed off a haughty smirk. "Now show me what you got.

She'd rub her hands together, a mischievous smirk appearing on her face. "Ice it is," she'd hold her hands close together, focusing an orb of floating frost would appear in them. "There we go....nice freezing energy."

Holding her hands forward she'd sin at Kon. "Ok.....move fast, stay focused.....stay frosty," she'd giggle at her own pun. "Ready," once she got confirmation, she'd start to fire, the beams of frosting freezing anything they hit.

"Just tell me when you need a break," she'd say with a snicker as the younger neko continued to release the icy blasts.

Konpeitou was no fighter. He had seen many fights at the arena, but the closest he's ever gotten to being in one were sparring matches during power classes. This was different. There was potential to be seriously hurt here. Just how he liked it.

And because there was potential for injury, caution had to be put in place. Kon made sure his pain was numbed before he gave a signal for Shiro to start. Then, it was time to dodge.

One. Two. Three. Four flips. Kon ran and flipped through the woods, using trees as shields to be frozen in his place and missing close calls. Sometimes he had to bend his body in strange ways to miss getting hit. This would've been so much easier if he was in cat form, but that was a plan for later.

Kon almost jumped out of the way of a beam when it hit his shoulder, knocking him on his back. The fall to the ground wasn't a big deal, considering his sensation of pain was lowered. What was a big deal was the way the frost burned through his skin to his muscle.

"Ah... I didn't expect your beam to be this effective," he said flippantly. "But this is good! Gives me more chances to heal."

She'd fire her freezing blasts until she managed to hit her target, lowering her hands after hitting Kon's shoulder. "Uh...you ok?" she'd ask, walking close for examine the frozen wound. "I hear bad ice based injuries sometimes heal slower."

Once she was convinced that her friend was ok, she'd jump back, readying herself for more. "After were finished I'll take you for a ride on my staff, flying is awesome."

The younger cat shifter raised her hands. "Want me to stick with ice? Or switch to fire?" she'd ask with a challenging grin.

"I'm fine, I'm fine," he responded, half-lying. He wasn't in any serious danger, but having his shoulder frozen wasn't good for training.

He pushed himself into a sitting position, then stood up. "How about fire? Be easier for me to heal from, actual. And, uh, be nice to thaw out my shoulder," he suggested, hoping Shiro would try to use her fire to heat him up.

"And a staff ride sounds great! We can grab something to eat later too."

"Fire it is," she'd say, taking a breath and rubbing her hands together, "tell me if it gets to hot though, don't want to melt or cook you."Taking one more breath she'd hold out her hands, "all right, let's get you nice and toasty."

She'd she'd focus and release a small stream of fire aimed at his frozen shoulder. The fire wasn't as hot as she could make, she was just trying to thaw his shoulder for now.

"There we go," she'd make the flames float around the shoulder, "not to hot is it?"

The dim pain he felt made Kon thankful he had numbed himself earlier. The frostbite left his shoulder with much to heal after Shiro thawed it out. He never thought he'd find himself preferring burns over freezing.

"Ah... that feels so much better. Thank you," he sighed. "Looks like you're gaining some good control there. I wasn't aware you could control the temperature and shape of your fire so well." If he was being honest with himself, he fully expected Shiro to mess up and burn him, or worse, set his shoulder on fire. As long as he was careful to avoid any trees and pat himself out fast enough, the healing process would be relatively quick.

The healing for his frostbite would not be so easy. First of all, it wasn't something he had any experience with until now. Not like this. Closest he got was putting parts of his body in ice and holding it there.

"Give me a few to recover from this... Man, sucks that I got hit this soon, though. I have a lot of training to do."

"Can't do much shape wise, but I can make it float around things," she'd say, continuing to focus on controlling the flame. "This is good training for it, makes me have to control it better."

Once her friend was warmed up she'd take a breath and make the fire vanish. "No problem, we got time," she'd nod, "it's a part of training after all." She'd been a bit concerned, if he wasn't able to heal himself they'd need to get a doctor.

"Don't be so hard on yourself, it's never easy being the target while training."

Standing himself up and stretching, he gave Shiro a cocky smile. "Yeah, well, get ready for me to make things harder on you. And then, if that's too easy, I can also become a cat. Try hitting a target that small."

It looked like it might take about ten minutes for his shoulder to heal. Many cells were killed off and needed to be replaced. In the meantime, Konpeitō felt his arm was good enough to continue with training. His legs weren't damaged. He could jump around and swing from a branch with one hand.

"Alright, start whenever you're ready. My shoulder will heal soon enough."
