It was late afternoon, and Vinanye was done with his shift at Temptations. Washed, fed, and feeling quite well, Vinnie was spending his free time in Oceanic Park. It was a usual spot for him. Sometimes he traversed the school's gardens, too, but apparently, he wasn't supposed to do that because he wasn't a student. Who'd have guessed?

This particular afternoon, Vin was on his stomach searching through the grass. Every sound he heard had him looking up to see who was nearby. His pockets were full of a variety of gems (as they so often were) and he was humming a merry tune, not from this realm.

The Fae found a ladybug and watched as it crawled along the back of his hand and flew off once it reached the tip of his finger. He giggled. When glancing around the park once, Vinnie noticed a man he had seen before at Milo's animal adoption fair.

"Oh! Oh! I know you!" The Fae said as he jumped to his feet and skittered over to Murphy as though they were long time friends. "How have you been... um, Murphy, was it! Do you remember me, Murphy? I am Vinanye! I do not recall if I gave you a name."

Vinnie did recall having given Murphy a gem, but then, he gave so many people gems. It was in his nature not to keep them for himself.

Murphy stared vacantly at the flowing fountain before him. He wasn't usually one for casual blasphemy but God DAMN today had been crap. No longer content to continue abusing him with mundane issues like alarm clocks shorting out and hot water running out far too quickly, whatever blasted entity held domain over his 'gift' had decided that he wasn't going to pass any of his classes this year either. Oh he'd done all the work, even managed to score decent marks on his final despite the universe's best efforts. Instead, his failure was due to a god forsaken bug in the system claiming that he'd dropped out months ago. Would have been nice to know that before he'd taken the rest of the damned classes.

Well at least if his life was going to shit, it was at least going to shit in new and interesting ways. He sighed and glanced down at the gently rippling surface of the water, reaching out a pale hand to trace a patter along the top. As if on cue, a tiny form erupted out of the water and lunged at him, burying itself in the depths of the aged duster he refused to give up.

"Oi!" he shouted, "You 'ent supposed to be doin' that, Splish. C'mon, you're getting me soaked." A slender, snake like head emerged from his coat and looked up at him, coming to rest comfortably along his arm.

Adopting the baby hydra had been both the best and worst decision of the previous year for him. Her (at least he assumed it was a her) company had done wonders for his mental health but he was quickly realizing just how little clue he had about how to take care of her. He'd considered taking her back to the adoption agency for someone better equipped to handle her but he just couldn't bring himself to actually do it. What if someone-

His thoughts were interrupted by someone calling out to him and he did his best to smile, resulting in a grimace. "Ah yeah er.... right, Vinanye... knew it was somethin' starting with a 'V'." For a puzzled moment he thought the man from the adoption fair had looked... taller? No, more fair headed? Bah, he couldn't remember. "Course I remember you, still got that garnet you gave me somewhere in my coat. How're ya doing? Still helping out er... whassit.... Milo and uh, Madeline with the animal shelter?"

Vinanye had worn a silk mantle that day. A gift given to him by his boss Klaus Rosales. It fit the Rosales colors and style. Bright red, baggy, with outer designs of reddish gold and roses.

He was delighted to be wearing it; that might have been hard to tell because Vinnie was entertained by most things. He was swaying his arms back and forth, letting the mantle flow freely in the wind and being swallowed further into the fabric.

"Yes, it is Vinanye. I am so happy you remember me, Murphy! And good, good. Keeping the gems are good, but I always have more to give." Vinnie wanted to touch him, but the gem didn't think Murphy would have appreciated that much. "I am still helping Milo, yes, but I do not see Maddie. Sometimes I help at the adoption center, but only when Milo is there."

The Fae pointed to his Hydra. "I see you still have your adopted friend! I hope you have been well with her? You seem upset, Murphy, is something wrong? Has something happened?"

Vin approached him, reaching out to touch him, as was so common for the Fae. He liked to touch everyone. Soft, fleeting caresses of the hand on arms, shoulders, or faces.
