The good thing about presents was that they were almost a universal source of entertainment. There were very few people on the face of the planet that could actually say that they did not enjoy giving or receiving a gift of some variety, be it a simple one like a shirt or a kind of candy or a bigger gift like a super-advanced bit of technology.

So, when Davis had drawn a person's name for a Secret Santa draw, his first thought for a gift was...well, that's the real secret, isn't it? He wouldn't reveal his gift just yet. It was a surprise, after all. It was a big box, and that was all that Davis was able to show off. Now all he had to do was wait until the recipient of his gift arrived.

Michael still wasn't sure why he had allowed himself to be signed up for a Secret Santa event. It probably had something to do with the holiday spirit and all, though he was not a really big fan of Christmas, so that didn't really explain it at all. He ordered himself not to sigh, less the other person get the wrong impression, however, a chance that he would meet another mind reader here was slim, which meant... He would have to talk. Probably.

He really couldn't help a small sigh in his head though, so he let it pass, as he looked for the person whose name he had got. A guy, with blond hair, it said, who likes books, comic, and model kits. A fairly straightforward lists of likes, so at least a gift was easy to choose. He carried under his arm in a big box wrapped in yellow paper.

Davis poked his head out of an empty room, a hat perched carefully on his blonde hair. He looked one way, and then another way, yet he saw no-one coming down the corridor. He slunk out of the room and started to walk down the corridor, hoping to spot his gift recipient eventually.

His search led him to another corridor, and another set of empty rooms. He didn't see anyone. Keeping his present close to him, he took a peek into a room. There was absolutely no-one there. This was getting irritating. Davis was hoping whoever he was giving his gift to would show up soon.

Blond hair, blond hair... He couldn't see anyone like that through the windows. Actually, he couldn't see anybody period. Did he get the right time? He decided to get inside, as it would seem that his idea that it would be much easier to find someone b flying around was failing. Choosing the random window, he tossed his present inside on the table so it wouldn't bother him, and started a difficult process of squeezing his wings in.

The sudden sound of a present hitting a table made Davis jump. A terrified "meep" escaped his lips. He peered into the room, and spotted something that not even he, in his wondrous dictionary-based wisdom, could not describe. It was a person with wings trying to squeeze into a window. Santa Claus this was not.

This could be, however, his Secret Santa. Carefully, Davis stepped into the room, carrying the present ahead of him. "Secret Santa, I presume." he said, giving him a warm smile.

Blond hair. That was enough for Michael.

Ye... he started in his thoughts, irritated, for his left wing just didn't want to fit in through the window, before he remembered that this was neither Bill nor Tiffany, and that he would have to speak.

Yes. he said, his voice cracking a bit, as he left a frustrated sigh, pulling his wings in harshly, damaging the window in return.

My name is Michael. he said, cleaning the dust of his feathers.

"That's good. I was about to go looking for you." Davis looked a little concerned at how his Secret Santa was struggling through the window. He was about to ask for help, but he seemed to have managed perfectly fine on his own.

"I'm Davis, and, uhh..." he lifted up his present. "Here's your present. Happy holidays, Michael."
