"Yeah, you seems to like helping people a lot," his suspicions were fading some, he was now more curious than anything else. "Why is that? Never had.....really anyone ever do that before," it was strange, he was assuming it was done out of ignorance of who he was.

Nathan would raise his eyebrow in surprise. "Are you.....asking me to have lunch with you?" a cute girl he'd just met, asking him to lunch, now that was strange indeed. The vampire would scratch at his chin in thought.

"Hmm....alright then," curiosity was getting the better of him, "uh....you know any places that serve blood?"

"I guess I am just a people person~ We should all look out for one another but I am probably sounding like a broken record player by now." answered Amber. To it, it was a silly thing to ask since the answer was so obvious but... not everyone was used to basic decency which is kind of... sad.

"And yeah, I am asking you to have lunch with me." answered Amber with smile. To her it was just a simply grabbing lunch with a fellow student and didn't really think of it as date or anything. "Oh and I know just a place that we can get lunch and still have enough time to get back to class before classes start up. And yes they serve blood, along with other specialized diet food. Shall I lead the way?"

This was definitely a little weird, though it was partially because he wasn't used to being social anymore. "Yeah, lead the way," he'd follow the spider girl, the pair getting a few odd looks from passing students who knew who he was.

"So you a student?" he'd ask, looking her over, "you look...vaguely around my age? A teenager." Age was such a weird thing on the island, so many immortals and people who aged differently than most.

"Oh and...uh...I'll pay for our lunch," he'd say, still walking besides her. "I just got my allowance, so I have a bit of extra money," he was hoping to find work somewhere, if anyone was willing to hire him.

"Well of course I am a student. Wouldn't be here otherwise." answered Amber before she addressed his next question "As for how old I am... well am I actually nearly 3 years old but... I sort though a growth spurt just after I hatched. So think in terms of growth we are about the same."

"Oh no please you don't have to be gentleman about it. I can easily pay for it. My treat. Save your allowance for something more important."
insisted Amber, sure she knows it was tradition or something that the boy pays for the meal but in her mind she was already settled on buying Nathan a meal. After all, those bullies ruined his meal and he shouldn't have to be the one to pay for it.

He did vaguely remember hearing about the spiderlings before going to the islets, the demon kids with the odd family. "Right....that must of been strange?" he'd ask curiously, "being born and then immediately growing a lot?" It certainly sounded like it'd be a weird experience, especially on a mental level.

The vampire would let out a small grumpy grunt when she insisted on paying, said grunt probably sounded more cute than anything else. "Fine.....I do need the blood I guess," he'd glance at her, still finding it a hit odd that she was so nice to him.

"Uh.....what grade are you in?" he'd ask, trying to have a conversation. "I'm a sophomore in high school. You a freshman?" that was his guess given her age.

"... not really? Seemed normal to me but... I think everyone has different view on what is normal around here." was all Amber could come up with, really she never it weird until people like Nathan brought it up.

"Hee... what grade am I? Thats a good question because I am like in... 8th gradish but the school has been talking about bumping me up to the 9th grade just because I intellectually, mentally, and physically a bit more mature compared to my peers." is how Amber answered the question. "So your a sophomore huh? Honestly I thought you to be a little younger just by looking at you. But its never safe to assume anyone's age around here."

He'd snort. "Yeah....people say I have a baby face....and that I'm short..," he'd grunt again, "but I'm sixteen so older than you." Despite his grumpy exterior he was coming off as a little brighter, a little less angry at everything.

"So you're....fourteen or so then?" that was his guess, at least judging by her human half, the spider half obviously didn't really show age.

They were approaching the restuarant now and Nathan would look at it. "So uh.....just lunch and back to class?" it'd been so long since he'd hung out with another student, let alone a cute girl.

"Something like that. 14 sounds about right... or close enough at least." replied Amber, just as the two of them arrived at the restaurant. Peering in side the window she could see a couple other students had the same idea as they did. "Yep, we have a lot of time left during the lunch break left to just enjoy the meal, chat a bit and have time to head back."

As soon as they both entered, a waitress was quick to help them to a booth and handed them both menus to look over. Amber thanked the waitress as they told them they will return in few minutes to get their orders.

"Oh this place is great by the way. They really go out of the way to accommodate everyone's diet and food considerations. So please, get whatever you want Nathan."

This all felt strange, three weeks of being an outsider to suddenly having lunch with a fellow. "Right.....," he'd take a seat, picking up the menu, his red eyes looking it over. "Yeah, I see an entire section of blood based stuff," which was nice, he could eat normal food, but only blood could really sustain.

He'd pick his meal, setting the menu down and looking to her. "So...uh...," he'd scratch at the back of his head. "The school....seems mostly the same as I remember it," he'd glance out the window, "just..y'know....just a different kind of madness happening, but there always something crazy going on."

The vampire would look to her. "You seem really bright? Good with social stuff," she came off like a social butterfly, very chatty.

"Hee... I am only like, one of the smartest kids in he classroom. Not to brag or anything~" said Amber who was obviously bragging a little "I wasn't also so... social. I mean I was friendly but I just to just keep my nose in my books and hide myself int he library. And I still do but as I got to know people and started really bonding with my family I started to appreciate people more and more."

Gosh she was 3 years old almost but she had so much development in her life in that time. From bookworm, to family drama, advocating demon rights, more family drama, taking part of school politics... she has diffidently gone through a lot. But it all made her into what she is now right?

"But yeah, I guess I am a smart cookie. What about you? Where do your interest lie at school? Do you have any friends or part of any clubs at school?" asked Amber as she now turns the questions onto Nathan.
