"Ohh... uhh... a few years... ummm... two?" answered Pallavi, quickly pulling out two fingers, then adds third finger "Uhh... m-maybe three?"

"Errr... yes... I know..." admitted Pallavi sheepishly, well knew that had Lucan wanted to he could have teleported far far away from her. Even when as she tried to kill him he continues to linger near... it was stupid of her to attempt to try to catch him now but... the thought of Lucan announcing her location to the whole island that it terrified her of the consequences if she could not silence him permanently. But now... she felt so... helpless and weak.

"S-sorry I... I am just... scared... really REALLY scared of... of dying and... and not seeing my mom and my dad and my friends and... I... I just want to go home!" cried out Pallavi, her massive snake-like body or roots and bones suddenly collapse into mess of vegetation as Pallavi's hands cover her face, letting out quite tears into her palms.

As she sobbed, she could hear Lucan coming out from his cover. Lowering her hands she looked up to see him stand out in the open, promising to keep her safe and... most strangely of all promising to be her friend.

"You... you want to be be m-my friend?" spoke Pallavi in astonishment, surprised that Lucan was offering to be her friend even though she was trying to kill him moments earlier.

"I think you've been out here longer than you realize," he'd say, stepping a bit further out on the branch, "do you remember what year it was last time you saw your father?" He didn't know how she'd aged, she looked around his age.

He'd teleport onto a lower brach besides her, and gently take her hands. "I'm so sorry, you've been out here alone for so long, I can't imagine how hard it's been," he'd look her over, "yes, I want to be your friend and friends help each other."

This poor girl needed help and he couldn't just walk away without trying to help her. "You deserve a new life, you deserve better than these woods."

"Umm... n-no... I... I think it was... a year or two ago." mumbled Pallavi though she didn't sound very confident in her answer. As Lucan's hands reach out and touched her's, Pallavi stares for a moment before she suddenly retracts her hands while her face glows slightly red in color.

"O-oh! Sssorry! I... I'm not as alone as you think... I... uhh... h-have Petals to... talk to. And some days... I look into the minds of the... forest animals... to see, hear, and smell the world from their perspective. C-can even talk to them too... s-sort of... I... I guess I am not alone here but..." Pallavi looks away for a moment, looking out to all the flowers for a moment before she let out a low sigh as she turned back to Lucan. "I... I miss my old life... and everyone in it. I-it has been hard but... I had hope that... one day... I can see them all again."

She then smiles to Lucan, his kindness and compassion was something that she was unused to.

"Uhh... t-hanks... sorry I... I don't know the right words but... t-thanks for... being my friend... even if... I was trying to kill you. S-sorry about... you... you promise not tell yes?" Pallavi then looks to him staring back with pleading green and blue eyes, eyes that become pink and white the moment she blinked.

Lucan would move a bit closer, "you may have been out here longer than you realize, it's probably hard to tell how much time passes out here." He'd tilt his head, "we'll figure it out, I promise."

He'd nod, "I'll poke around, see if it's safe, maybe get some information for you," they'd figure it out, "then I'll come back with it all and we can discuss what to do from there." He thought the scouts would take her in, help her, but he had to be sure.

"I think it will be safe for you," he'd say, giving her a reassuring smile, "but I promise I won't tell anyone until we're sure, I'll tell you everything I find."

Pallavi felt nervous... it was rare for her to have to trust someone like this but... it did feel a little nice to have someone to call a friend. She just hoped that her putting a bit of faith into Lucan would not come back to bite her later.

"Oh t-thank you so much! I... I'll just remain here and keep hidden... at least until you come back and... let me a-about the w-world outside of this forest." warmly spoke up Pallavi, counting herself lucky someone looking after her... someone whom she can call a friend now? While she did not expect for Lucan to return with news of Mantra Carlos being safe for her... it would be a relief to know it it was safe for her to return home or not.

"... and... sorry for... being so much trouble for you... you... you had no reason to help stay back and try to help me but... you did anyway..."

He'd give her a grin, "no worries, we're friends, I'll help all I can," he expected that things would be safe for her, that the school would take her like it it had so many others in the past. "I'll poke around the school and make sure it's safe. then I'll come back."

The half demon would wipe blood from his eye, the injury was starting to stop bleeding finally. "I'll head out," he'd chuckle, "get my head patched up and then I'll get started on things."

"I'll check in with you in a few days, to give you an update," he'd vanish and reappear on the ground. "I promise we'll figure something out," he'd say his goodbyes, give her reassurance that he'd return and then off he'd go, teleporting away.

"Ohh... umm... o-okey." softly spoke Pallavi and before she knew it, Lucan had suddenly disappeared. With him gone... she was now all alone once again. Okey well not completely alone, she still had Petals whispering its concerns in the back of her mind and by every right she shared those concerns. Who was to say that Lucan would bring with him the exterminators bent to- no... he promised to be her friend. Had he not already shown his commitment even when she tried to kill him?

Pallavi let out an yawn, realizing how tired she became after the whole exchange and thought it best to think on it while resting. Maybe tomorrow... she can decide on if she was to remain her and wait for Lucan or... perhaps find a new spot to settle. Part of her almost didn't wish to have to resettle elsewhere as she literally grew roots here... a little slice of respite she created within the expanse of darkness. Whatever her decision it will have to wait as the petals close around and Pallavi slips back into the world of dreaming.
