Yet another after hours adventure for Lear. Office hours were done and papers were graded. He'd managed to dodge all of the plucky inquisitive students with questions they were meant to simply find the answers to in their textbooks. In all honesty it was quite the accomplishment considering how he stuck out like a sore thumb. Being eight feet tall with three heads and golden scales provided little in terms of camouflage. Lear had managed to find one of the old dusty abandoned classrooms, a music room to be specific. It wasn't really a secret nook or anything, anyone could find it but few ever ventured this way so it just kind of became his spot to slip off to when he had nothing better to do.

He sat, taking time to tune his guitar before he started playing. He strummed on it, listening to the notes and making the slightest adjustments before he finally started actually playing. He played a rather difficult and intricate solo on the instrument that went on for several minutes. Long enough to get someone's attention and draw the attention of one of the dragon's heads. "You here to yell at me about a desk?" he asked immediately recognizing the person as another faculty member. She had that teacher walk, the signs of stress he attributed to students wasn't there.

Mirella spent another day teaching and talking with students over their grades. She didn't mind helping students, but she found questions tiring after a while. She found arguing even more exhausting. She hated debating grades with students. Some were entitled bastards that felt they should get good grades for minimal effort. She could understand if the student didn't understand the grade or was willing to talk with her over the breakdown; those students were good in her book. However the brats made her lose her patience. It was good that she had mastery over her cold facade, or she would've been fired by now.

Her bag floated behind her as she levitated through the halls. She wasn't trying to hide; she was simply going on a stroll around the building. Her definition of stroll was floating around with her telekinesis and checking out random spots. She was minding her own business when the sounds of a guitar hit her ears. She was immediately intrigued. The music rooms down here no longer functioned. Who was playing an instrument? She jokingly wondered if it was a ghost. Then again, that theory wouldn't be far fetched at this school.

The English professor followed the music to an empty classroom. Inside was a giant three-headed dragon man. Okay, now she was interested. Was this the substitute teacher people spoke about? He had a tendency to break desks apparently. She remembered one of her particularly nasty coworkers had her desk broken by him. She heard the chick rant about it and had the hardest time not laughing over it. She stopped levitating at the entrance and took several steps. Her heels clicked against the ground. He chimed in immediately about the desks. This confirmed her suspicions. The woman crossed her arms.

"No, though thank you for breaking Ms. Chatterbox's desk. I came here because I heard guitar playing. Skilled guitar playing at that."

She admired musicians; she was a musician herself. She could sing and play piano. Rock was her favorite genre. This was not according to plan, but she didn't really have a plan to begin with.

The dragon blinked as his heads turned to each other as if they were consulting one another on the matter. He wasn't expecting guests of any kind. Well she wasn't here to scold him for some lack of professionalism or anything, that was good. He would have just started playing over her if she did. Actually, she thanked him for breaking someone's desk. If it was who he was thinking of then he actually did that in front of her AND her class before leaving. "She's never getting that apology out of me," he responded.

Lear was studying the woman intently, kind of hard to get a proper read on her. Assassins training had taught him to look past surface level interference. Her response to him earlier already told him she had some semblance of a decent sense of humor. That said what the hell was she doing here? He kind of wanted to ask that straight out. She must have a boyfriend or someone, anywhere was better than here. "My guitar skills aren't that great though," he shrugged. He knew he wasn't bad, he'd just never considered himself particularly skilled.

"At any rate I'm Lear Clover, professor of immortality studies and hostile substitute. He stood, taking a step forward extending a golden clawed . scaly hand towards his colleague.

"Good."

If she was the emotive type, then she would be laughing right now. However, she did not laugh. She kept a mostly neutral face with the slightest hint of a smirk. Her eyes examined him further. His form was humanoid, but he was incredibly draconic. The most notable feature of him was his three heads. The woman noticed that his eyes were closely observing her as well. However, it was not in the perverted sense. Good, she wouldn't have to toss a chair at him. He downplayed his guitar skills, but her thoughts were contrary to his.

"Nonsense. You played an intricate solo perfectly."

While she was praising him, her monotone voice made it hard to tell how impressed she was with his skill. Her movements and facial expressions were subtle. His best bet was to watch her eyes. Her eyes betrayed her feelings. They made slight alterations that were natural for certain emotions. She took his hand and shook it eagerly. There was not a hint of hesitation or concern; in fact, it was as if she was giving a handshake to a normal human.

"Mirella Cadaverini, English professor. It's a pleasure to meet you, Lear."

He was used to people taking time to take him in. When you're a humanoid three headed dragon it was more or less the appropriate thing to do so he didn't mind much. Most people either weren't phased because they'd seen things just as extreme, or he was their first experience with the strangeness of the world. Mirella seemed unfazed by his appearance, so much so she shook his hand without the slightest bit of hesitation. That was rather nice, encouraging in fact.

"Thank you, it's a pleasure to meet you as well, Mirella," she had a nice name. Had he been an awkward teenager he'd probably blurt as much out. But he was a professional and the last thing he needed was a harassment suit. Not to mention, she was rather attractive. Not that anyone was lining up to date a bachelor dragonoid. "I come here sometimes because the acoustics are just as good as the new music room. And there's not really any traffic through here," he played a quiet melody as he said it.

"That said, company every now and again isn't so bad. This section of the school gets kinda creepy sometimes," one of his heads added smiling slightly at his colleague. At least she seemed friendly in spite of her lack of outward emotion. She also wasn't bad looking either, which helped a bit as well.

Mirella definitely had the friendly vibe going, but her cold exterior hid that fairly well. She was enjoying the company thus far. She lightly pushed strands of her hair out of her face after shaking hands with him. His hands felt like how she expected them to. Her own hands were soft in contrast. She stared at him right in the eyes. Well, at least one set of eyes. Her attention was on his words, but her head lightly nodded to the soft melody. It relaxed her just enough to make her stop levitating and land on the ground.

"The room design lends itself nicely to playing music."

There were not many surfaces that the sound could echo off of. With the door closed, the reverberation would be minimal. The idea of the school being creepy amused her, but she could see where he was coming from. Even so, she was tempted to giggle a bit, but she didn't. Instead he just received another slight smirk as she crossed her arms.

"Creepy? I guess."

What she refused to articulate was that she suffered loneliness as well from time to time. She often gave the impression that she was strong. She was indeed strong, but every person had his or her weak moments. Mirella stepped over to the dragon man and sat down next to him. She didn't care that the room was dusty.

"There's no reason to come here. No classes take place in this section."

Her black eyes glanced up at the ceiling.

"...It's rather peaceful."

Considering all the rumors he'd heard the students about this section of the school being haunted. Kind of a stupid rumor to start especially when some of their classmates could be considered ghosts and other manner of unlife. He preferred to quickly shoot those down before anyone got their feelings hurt.

"I guess it's only as creepy as you let it be," he belted out an intricate but quiet set of notes as he said this before going into the theme song for the Halloween movies.

He noted her sitting next to him, mildly surprised at the lack of hesitation. Then again she did also shake his hand without a thought. He was used to people being slightly put off by his rather unique appearance. She was somehow different from the other teachers. The former assassin could tell she had something buried in her past. It wasn't his place to pry into such matters though. "Peaceful huh? Back when I was 18 I sent a week in an abandoned house, it kinda had this feel to it," he neglected to mention he was actually on a mission hunting down someone marked for him to kill. There was no need to reveal all his cards.

Mirella had the temptation to chuckle at his choice of music, but she successfully held her laughter in. The Halloween theme had become iconic to many people. It seemed that no one could think about the creepy side of Halloween without thinking of the eerie high-pitched theme from the oddly titled movie. I mean really, the plot didn't have anything to do with Halloween, though it did really sell the idea that it was on Halloween thanks to the clever shot compositions and added decorations. She recalled reading about how there was a pumpkin included in every scene. That was clearly done on purpose by the filmmakers.

She listened to his story about the abandoned house. She felt that there were some pieces missing. Where was the motivation? Just like in stories, there was always a motivation for someone to end up in a particular location. Even boredom counted as a motivator. She pondered this as she responded.

"What an odd location to be sent to."

A hint of intrigue slipped into her monotone voice.

"I always preferred places like these over those with lots of people. I would rather be in silence than in constant noise. It...overwhelms me."

More specifically, it overwhelmed her enough for her powers to go haywire. She definitely wasn't a loud party type of person.

"When did you learn to play guitar?"
