Mikhainon gave a long, weary sigh at the question. He put his sunglasses back on and stared at the darkening sky. "It's been there, done that, kid. You may have heard that I seek out unique, otherworldly things in the island. That much is true. Things get so repetitive with this existence. It's hard living it when you're sober."

Speaking of, he took a sip of his pina colada. He was good at balancing pleasantly buzzed with tipsy. At the question, Mikhainon looked up, an eyebrow raised. "I've heard you have touch-based powers." He offered his hand. "Go right ahead. This form is nothing but a meat puppet. I don't believe you'll find anything of note."

Shay took Gabriel's hand. Nothing happened. It wasn't the typical kind of nothing that came from people like Toby or Jack, but a strange suffocating feeling. As if she were trying to squeeze through too tight a space and she was just too big.

Eroshay held one of his hands with both of her own and closed her eyes, following the feeling. It was a bit chaotic; she rarely focused her magic like this, but she had to get used to it at some point. No, something was off. Unmistakably off. She channeled her magic harder, pushing, fight, scraping to get through the spot. Still, nothing happened.

Gabriel was an experienced man, with great magic. He might have felt her magic as it slid into him, testing things, wiggling around. It was subtle, as Shay herself was about these things. Shay's magic was cold, dead, with flickers of intense life. Behind it all, as a solid backbone was a strong current of pure magical energy; it was a tinge, barely noticeable. Once there, it was gone.

Shay gasped and opened her eyes, snapping out of everything. It took her a moment to steady herself and recall where she was or what was happening.

"Weird."

Aedan blushed a bit at Aylin's teasing, "we uh met the other day and I'm...showing her around the island." He was pretty sure he was repeating himself. And he wasn't sure why he was blushing.

"I've been trying to be more social so I invited her to come with me." He took a sip of his water. "I thought the party would be fun, and wed both get to meet new people." He realized his arm was still around Veronicas shoulders and blushed again for a sec.

Lord he sounded like an idiot, he wasn't like this in private, he bloody wasnt. He turned to Brad, "I don't think we've met...I'm Aedan Drago."

Veronica felt a flush completely engulf her face at Aylin's teasing. The poor girl used her hat to hide her face once again, sticking her entire face into her hat. As much of a plain Jane as she was, Veronica was also an extremely emotional individual, which made sense with her power, but also somewhat hindered it. She felt herself shaking in embarrassment, and tapped at Aedan a bit. She motioned for him to take his arm off, hoping it would lessen her heightened embarrassment, but managed to only calm down when the attention was brought to something else. She patted him afterward to try and show that there were no hard feelings.

Veronica peered up at the man Aylin was with, named Bradley. Honestly, she didn't really know what to think about him. From what she saw, he wasn't the most... approachable looking person she ever saw. A yellow pupil against a black iris wasn't really a welcoming feature. Whether the man would try to smile or not, Veronica felt more intimidated than anything. Aylin seemed strange, too, but she had a friendlier air to her. She didn't know why. Something told Veronica that she had no reason to fear him, but her logic was too strong.

Veronica remained silent, much like Bradley had been, but possibly for a different reason.

"Oh it's all under control my dear, no need to worry," he reassured her about his work. Everything really looked like it was kicking off nicely, good vibes all around. Bradley's hands instinctively wrapped around her hips as she came up to give him a kiss. In all honesty he couldn't wait for her to be finished with her shift so they could socialize and wander the party like a proper couple would. It was all well and good though, they were both respectable members of the community that paid their bills. He was also running under the assumption that that there may be some sort of scale for their pay rates this day.

His attention shifted to Aedan and Veronica upon their arrival. He studied them for a moment, deciding that they just weren't quite official just yet. This was quickly confirmed by Aedan's response to Aylin's teasing

"Showing her around the island huh? Sounds like you two are off to a good start. I'm Bradley Davis, proud owner of Jack's butcher shop," he smirked. Showing the new girl around the island seemed like a halfway decent way to go about getting platonic dates out of a girl. Then eventually one or both members of the parties will begin questioning just what the nature of their relationship was. And feelings get confronted. Finally, there's beautiful romance until someone screws it up. "Ah young love," he snickered as he snuggled up to Aylin.

"Well I suppose me having you here like this counts as slacking. But you are technically flirting and chatting it up with the crowds. We're probably just gonna end up making out among other things later," a mischievous grin crossed his face as his tail swayed.

Adelyn wasn’t actually aware of the beach party that was going on, but rather stumbled upon it by pure chance. She had wanted to go and see the ocean, because to her it was still this big, amazing, wondrous thing that she couldn’t quite wrap her head around. She had seen lakes in the mountains, sure, but the ocean was, like…a billion lakes. Adelyn couldn’t stop staring outside the window when she was on the plane to Manta Carlos, and even now she was still just utterly enthralled that there such a massive body of water with so many creatures in it that she knew nothing about.

Eventually, as Adelyn wandered further down the beach she came across the party. Her eyes widened with excitement—so many people! And they looked like they were all having so much fun! And they were wearing such tiny clothing that Adelyn felt overdressed in her sundress by comparison!

Curious, she scanned the crowd to find someone who wasn’t currently in the middle of conversation. That’s when she noticed Flayace, who also seemed like she may have just stumbled upon this group of people. Perfect! She could talk to her easily!

Adelyn hastened toward Flayace and tapped her on the shoulder.

“Hi, excuse me! What’s going on here?” Adelyn asked.

Flayace would have jumped multiple feet in the air if she could have. The tap on her shoulder brought her back to that moment, as her gaze on the crowd had distracted her. "O-Oh hello there!" It took the girl a second to fully understand what she had been asked. "I think it's some type of party. I would have said an adult party, but there are children." The girl eyed her, wondering if she too had just so happened to stumble upon this group of people. "I didn't think it was right just to walk in as if I owned the place, so I didn't." Flayace smiled though, ever so softly. "My name is Flayace though, and I guess I could just talk to you for now!"
