Lauren walked all the way up to the tower. It was a long walk and it felt like it was longer than before. When Lauren got to the top she sighed. She walked to the balcony, it was a horrible day for her and not only that but her birthday was tomorrow and she was going to be spending her seventeen birthday alone.

One could hear Noah limping up the stairs long before they could see him, the steady sound of his cane hitting the ground, and his other foot stepping heavily on to the next step echoing up the passage way to signal his arrival.

When he finally reached the last step, left leg burning even more then usual and the other stiff from leaning on it, he was trying as hard to remember why he wanted to come up to the towers in the first place, but he honestly couldn't remember. It wasn't for the view, no, the roof provided the same with half as much effort required to get there. It definitely wasn't to be alone, because it was obvious to him by now that one could barely ever be alone in this school. So why had he bothered? He honestly didn't know, but now that he was at the top, he might as well go and pretend to care about watching the tiny students bustle around below him.

He limped over to the balcony, noting without much surprise the upset looking girl standing in the middle. Someone trying to be alone. He considered leaving, quickly shooting the idea down. He hadn’t spent all that time walking up only to turn around and go right back down again just because of some girl.. He sat down on the ledge, looking in the opposite direction then the girl and remaining silent for a few moments before "What's wrong with you, then?" he half asked, glancing over at her curiously before turning away again.

Lauren turned to look at the one who was talking to her. "I am cursed with being alone and my birthday is tomorrow. You?" She said, she up at the sky. Why couldn't things be easier, why did she have to complicate things. Lauren always felt like everything was always her fault and most of the time it was.

Noah clucked his tongue, shaking his head sadly. "Always sad, that." He looked over at her again, raising an eyebrow. "And how many years will you have graced this earth with your presence?" He felt no particular need to talk about himself, as there was nothing wrong with him a little painkiller wouldn't help. He fished inside his coat pocket, pulling a bottle out and popping a small pill into his mouth. "You're new?"

"Seventeen horrible years. No I’m not I’ve been here for some time now. You shouldn't take pills..." Lauren said, she walked over to him. She placed her hand inches away from his face and let her powers do the rest. "I'm a healer." Lauren said.

OOC: Hey i didn't kno you were a healer 2 -_-

Noah was looking away again, turning back to the girl just as she placed her hand in front of him and flinching instinctively. When he realized what she was doing, he softly batted her hand away, blankly staring over at her. "Won't work. I've tried." He paused, sighed. "Sorry. I'm a healer too.. Powers can't help it." He shrugged, not really caring.

"You've got no friends, or none can come to a party?" He questioned, attempting change the subject.

Ooc: Heh.. Yep. ^^;

"Oh sorry...I don't want a party...I don't like parties...to many people." Lauren said. She didn't like being in a room with to many people and then the attention being on her since it was her birthday, she always felt like people stared at her enough already. "I have friends......or a friend...." Lauren said, she couldn't think of anyone besides Kristin who was friends with her out of pity and then their was Aiden who was her own cousin.

OOC: You took my power! :huh:

"It's fine. I know how it feels.." But did she? Was she just trying to show off, or did feel the same responsibility that he did? Probably not. "Parties.. Ah, i'll agree with you there." It would be hard, having a birthday alone at the school. Back home it seemed he was always surrounded by brothers and sisters, and here.. He was lucky his was still more then a few months off. Not that he normally liked to surround himself with people, but he did miss his siblings, however little he cared to admit it.. And here he was, trying to give advice - was he supposed to give advice? - to someone about friends. "I.. Well, what can i say? That sucks.." What could he say, for that matter? At least she had friends, however scarce they might be..

Ooc: I thought the exact same thing when i saw your power.. xD And then i realized that you joined before me. *sigh*

OOC: first you steal my power and now your reading my mind?!?!

He was right it did suck. There was no point in looking on the bright side of anything. Lauren sighed, maybe it was time to go home. Lauren hated her home but she didn't belong here, and she could feel it. "Maybe this school isn't right for me." Lauren said.

Noah frowned over at her, surprised at what he'd just heard. "You should be thankful you've got this chance, friends or no! Do'ya know how many people are out there, wanting to be considered.. Well, considered normal, for the first time in their lives, instead of being treated like some sort of freak just because she's diff-"

His voice cracked, and he forced himself to stop talking. Idiot. He was acting like one of those twelve-year-olds that blurted out their sob stories to anyone who cared enough to listen, and almost anyone who didn’t as well. Oh, he was bad at cheering people up. "I mean. I'm not about to be telling you that you've got tons of friends, because i really have no idea." He paused, laughed shortly. "I don't even know your name, for that matter. But.. Least no one hates you, ne?" Another pause, when he remembered the thousands of brats roaming the hallways. "Pissy little ‘quality bred’ world-haters aside, of course.”

OOC: *evil laughter*
