Ashes, Ashes, We All Fall DOWN

Ember frolicked -yes frolicked- around the forest in a strangely giddy mood. And that meant trouble. Every time Ember was all alone and in a very good mood it meant one thing, and one thing only. Fire. She wanted to burn something down. Odd and slightly idiotic, but that's what she did when she was in one of those moods. Whether it was a small box or an entire...forest.

The pyromaniac halted abruptly finally realizing where she was standing. Right in the middle of a forest. Covered in trees. Wooden trees. With a devilish smile, she thought she'd start off slow and watch it grow. Ripping off a decent sized branch form a nearby tree, she lit it on fire with her index finger and watched it grow, flames dancing in her eyes. Once it got big enough, she tossed it up into the trees above, and observed as it got caught in the intertwining branches and kept the flame going. "Perfect."

Pisces was really enjoying her time here at the school. There were enough bodies of water in case she had an emergency with her gills growing in, and overall, it was a peaceful place here. Her cousins didn't go out much, so she often was able to find solitude in the forests or somewhere quite away from the main building of the academy.

As she continued through the beautiful, lively trees, a scent she despised reached her nostrils. The water elementalist paused, taking a moment to realize what it was. Clear blue eyes opened in utter horror and she gasped, taking a small step back as she saw the flames nearing her.

The animals were going to loose their homes! If it neared the school building, people might loose their lives. Pisces wouldn't stand for it, especially when she had the power to stop it.

Raising her hands, a blue glow formed between them and eventually shot out at the flames, a stream of water attacking them. Pisces prayed that no one had gotten seriously injured...

Little did she know that a fellow student had caused this catastrophe.

As branches fell to ashes from above, Ember simply smiled and danced around in circles, even more happier than before. The bright red and orange flames danced their way across the forest, and she followed them, watching the animals run from their homes. This put a sting in her joy. Ember loved animals, and to see them running for their lives from the fire just made her sad. So she decided against burning down the entire forest. After all, she'd probably get expelled for doing so.

As she skipped along to out beat the fire (though with not a lot of effort) she got angry at what she saw ahead. There was a girl putting out her fire! The nerve! Sure, she was just about to do the same, but she wanted to put out her own fire! Not some good too-shoes putting them out! Ember stormed up to the girl and said, "What do you think you're doing?!"

"What do you think you're doing?!"

Blue eyes spotted the older female that was stomping toward her. Blinking, Pisces took an intimidated step back, the water no longer flowing from her hands. The skin of her wrists became a bit scaly and her fins began to sprout out, but upon realizing that she wasn't wrong, stood straightly and raised her arms again, spraying at the fire.

"I'm putting out this fire!" she said, trying to hide the fact that she was inwardly afraid of this older female. "And if you had any decency in you, you would do the same!"

Pisces regretted saying that, but held a glare to act like she had meant it. It had been a cruel thing to say, but then again, anyone who would question her motives for putting out the flames had to have a few problems.

Right?

"I'm putting out this fire!"

Ember glared at the girl, crossing her arms over her chest. Well obviously she was putting out the fire, there was water shooting form her palms after all. The more carefully she looked at the girl, the more she noticed other things, like scales and fins. What the heck was this chick a fish or something?

"And if you had any decency in you, you would do the same!"

Ember growled, she had plenty of decency. "I would do the same if I wasn't the one who started the fire! And who do you think you are putting out my fire? I put out my fires!" Ember was angry, there was no denying that. True there was no real reason for getting so worked up over something she was going to do, but she loved putting out her own fires. Ember took a few steps closer towards the girl, shooting her the same glare at the girl was throwing at her.

"I would do the same if I wasn't the one who started the fire! And who do you think you are putting out my fire? I put out my fires!"

This girl was going to get it. Pisces bared her gritted teeth, so amazingly angry that she couldn't stand it. Such a strong emotion of hatred was boiling in her core and was getting ready to explode from her at any second. It was clear that her patience level was dropping, simply from the look upon her face. Her eyes were no longer calm, but sprouting with rage like the sea in the middle of a storm. It was very possible that she would loose control, and unintentionally make Ember a ship that sank.

"Oh yes," Pisces began in an infuriated voice. The tone was low and rigid, and despite her current feelings, was dangerously calm. "You can wreck the environment all you want... nature isn't my element, but the earth is crying all the same... WHEN DID YOU GAIN THE RIGHT TO KILL?!" By now, Pisces was shouting, almost delirious with the pure, untouched hatred that was cooking inside of her. "It doesn't matter if it's an animal, a tree, or a person! THEY ALL LIVE! I'll put out this fire whether you like it or not, and I just DARE you to stop me!"

Pisces could be very stubborn at times, but her heart was in the right place. She believed that these traits of anger were from her Lancaster heritage, and right now, she was proud of that. However, Pisces wasn't entirely a Lancaster, considering she wasn't her father's child. Until she learned the truth, though, she would forever be ignorant to this.

Her blonde hair began to fly back as if hit by the force of a wave, though there was nothing of that sort around. Pisces increased the pressure of the water, not caring how drained she would become afterward. All that mattered was saving this forest and making sure that no one stopped her, not even the brat that stood in front of her.

Ember glared at the girl, but in the end she knew she had a point. Ember had no right to kill, which was why she wanted to put out the fire. Herself. But of course, Ember had no chance to even speak for the girl just kept on going like a broken record.

"It doesn't matter if it's an animal, a tree, or a person! THEY ALL LIVE! I'll put out this fire whether you like it or not, and I just DARE you to stop me!"

"Hey, there's no need to shout, I'm not deaf. And you know what? I love animals, which is why I'm going to put out my fire, not some tree-hugging sea hag." Ember growled once more, getting annoyed with the brat standing before her. She rolled her eyes and with a few little twirls of her hands she stopped her own fire, just the way she wanted.

With a small smirk, Ember glared at the girl and said, "See? And plus, It would have taken you forever to put out my fire."

"Hey, there's no need to shout, I'm not deaf. And you know what? I love animals, which is why I'm going to put out my fire, not some tree-hugging sea hag."

Pisces' eyes widened somewhat at the insult. Sea hag? She wasn't old, nor was she in the wrong. This girl had no right to be throwing insults at her when all she had tried to do was save the environment. It was people like her that made the earth cry, that made her hurt... this girl couldn't even begin to appreciate this world. Fire was a power of destruction, not one to be used to help others.

"You never should have started it in the first place," Pisces hissed. "What's your problem, anyway? If you loved the animals so much, the thought of destroying their lives never would have crossed your mind..."

She wouldn't understand. She wouldn't understand until she could get into the minds of the animals. Pisces could only connect with sea critters, but land animals couldn't be much different.

"See? And plus, It would have taken you forever to put out my fire."

The young female snorted. "So you're cocky, too," Pisces stated with a deep laugh, the water no longer flowing from her body. She was exhausted, but did as best as she could to keep the heaving of her chest and her shaking to be a minimum. "Ha, yeah, would have taken forever? And why is that?" She raised an eyebrow, snorting once again.

"You never should have started it in the first place,"

Ember gave a loud exaggerated sigh. "Please, what are you: the keeper of the Forest?" The fact that she had scales probably meant that she was wrong and that the girl was actually the Keeper of the Seas, but of well. Just was just as much of a tree-hugger than she was a water lover-thing.

"What's your problem, anyway? If you loved the animals so much, the thought of destroying their lives never would have crossed your mind..."

The girl had a slight point. Sadly. True the thought of destroying the innocent animals hadn't crossed her mind until after the burning had begun, but at least she thought of it before some animals were actually killed. "The thought did cross my mind, which was why I was going to stop it in the first place. Me not you. God, i was in a really good mood. And when I'm in a good mood, I burn things. Deal with it."

"Ha, yeah, would have taken forever? And why is that?"

Ember cocked her head to the side and glared from the slightly burnt branches above to the little snob in front of her. "Um, how about because you're little water was only able to douse a wee bit of the beautiful dance that I had created in the time you took. And me? It only took a matter of seconds to make it disappear."

"Please, what are you: the keeper of the Forest?"

"Do I look like a keeper of the forest?" Pisces shot back, putting a hand on her hip. She could have an attitude at times, having learned very well from Shiloh. He was rather girly at times, which helped tons when it came to these things. "And think, too, about my powers. Oh yeah, they're totally forest related!"

"The thought did cross my mind, which was why I was going to stop it in the first place. Me not you. God, i was in a really good mood. And when I'm in a good mood, I burn things. Deal with it."

A pyromaniac... how absolutely terrible. "Oh yes, I have to deal with it, along with every other being that doesn't want to inhale smoke," Pisces said. "Next time I'll let everyone know to bow down to the almighty whatever your name is, though honestly, I don't care. Besides, whatever happened to dancing, or jumping up and down when you're happy? Get a life."

"Um, how about because you're little water was only able to douse a wee bit of the beautiful dance that I had created in the time you took. And me? It only took a matter of seconds to make it disappear."

She was such an idiot. "... You DO realize that I could have summoned water from the lake and made a wave, right? That would have put your puny fire out in a seconds... but it would have destroyed more than your fire did. So what did you want me to do?" Pisces' eyes narrowed and her brows furrowed as she looked at Ember.
