Laetus kept close behind, watching her seemingly amused. Could he read her expressions in her bird form or simply sense her enjoyment. Either way, he was smiling. His arms were out at his sides, and he would flap them every once in a while. Its unclear if this makes him go faster or not, but knowing him, there is no rhyme or reason to this.
"Enjoying yourself?"

Maddie pulled back so she could be beside him. She was staring at him as he flapped his...arms. If a bird could look deadpanned, she would have. That was the bar far, one of the funniest things she had ever seen.

After a second of trying to hold a not-deadpanned deadpan look, she squawked in laughter. Maddie moved just above him and tentatively went to land on his back. It wasn't the best idea, but she was a bird and birds did whatever the fuck they wangted. Especially crows and ravens. Those assholes.

It probably answered his questions. You know, if he spoke bird.

Laetus had never heard a bird laugh before. Could birds laugh? Doesn't matter, she was amused. He laughed too. More so when she landed on him. He started humming 'A whole new world's for a bit but couldn't keep a straight face for long. He stopped short in the air, doubling over in laughter. If she was jerked forward off of him, he would catch her in a portal and rebound the little bird into his arms.

Maddie walked on Laetus' back, pecking and nipping at his shirt. She did fly forward when he suddenly stopped and flapped wildly in his arms.

In the next second, she had returned to her human shape. Probably out of fear, as she was still struggling until she realized she wasn't falling. She looked from side to side, breathing hard.

"Holy crap! Teach me for landing on you!"

Laetus began floating back to the shore with her,trying to talk between laughter. Through this, his position never changed. Seems he can move the same speed no matter his posture.
"I didn't mean to do that." He finally got out as they landed. "At least I caught you."

Maddie was all stiff in Laetus' arms, and her face was beet-red, possible because she was all up in his business, but just as likely because she was still fluster from the whole almost-no-most-falling thing.

When he landed, she was still holding on tightly to him, her arms having wrapped around his neck in an iron grip. If she weren't so nervous, she would have had an easier time focusing on returning to her bird shape, but all she had been able to see was the ocean, and all she'd been able to hear was Laetus' laughter in her ear.

"I don't know...you did warn me you weren't the nicest guy." It was a joke, but her voice didn't come out as light as she hoped it had. She wasn't even sure he would take it in good humor.

Laetus stuck his tongue out at her at the comment, and suddenly sat in the sand. The sudden sit made her feel like he had dropped her for a moment.
"So..." He would say after sitting, a warm smile on his face, as if he expected no reaction whatsoever to the drop. "Feeling more at home here now, after the grand tour?" He almost laughed at his choice of words. There's so much more around here than what hes shown her today.

Maddie had honestly expected Laetus to set her down. She hadn't expected him to drop her...expect wait...he hadn't! Was she still very much in his lap? What even was going on?!

"You...I...What?" Maddie stammered, all tongue tied and looking like the lil' Cherry-chan she was.

"I mean... yes! I mean, I don't know if it was grand, but at least now I know where to get the pizza, and really what more does anyone need in life?"

Yes. In his lap. Unless I missed something, she still kinda has a vice grip on his neck. XD

Laetus chuckled. "Well said, my little Cherry."
Laetus leaned back in the sand. If she lets go, she'd be free to stay or go as she pleased. Either way, the moon had his attention now.
"... There's a lot more around here." He told her, thinking about what else could be interesting. Tonight might be about spent though... "If you want something, miss something, I probably know where it is."
