Ty knew very well that it wasn't fair, thats why he laid the bet in the first place. Why would he willingly offer to go out to buy snacks? "I know. That's why I said it. You should buy food." Returning to his work, Ty scooped sand even faster, trying to get a good head start before Levi caught on to what he was doing. He noticed Levi staring at his little beginnings of a castle, and he scooped faster, both hands this time. "I'm building, what does it look like." Hunching over, he scooped and patted the sand until it started to grow a little, the smooth walls coming up to his hips already.

"Here, it's easy if you build the base first. Get wet sand so it supports more weight. Make a big circle and just keep building up. Once you get high enough you can make windows and towers and bridges and things." Patting one wall too hard, Ty whimpered faintly as it collapsed under his hand, a little put off that he hadn't put enough water on the sand to make it sticky. Returning to his task, he gently rebuilt the wall that had fallen, patting the sand in more gently this time. "You can even make tiny flags with twigs and leaves ... " Entirely swept up in his little fantasy castle, he busied himself poking little windows into the first story of his building. "And tiny people... With twigs...You can't have a castle without a king..."

<div align=center>Completely fascinated watching Tyberius build his sandcastle, Levi stared, forgetting that he was supposed to be making one too. That's so cute. Look at him he's so cute. Suddenly realizing his thoughts, the demon frowned softly at himself, in a completely straight way. He is cute in a straight way. Though there was a little voice in the back of his head that knew very well that absolutely wasn't true at all. Levi was not going to admit that to himself. He absolutely was not gay. Not gay at all. Lost in his thoughts for a moment, he realized very much that Tyberius was beating him. Not fair.

Digging up a handful of sand and patting it into a little mountain sort of shape, the incubus began to make a little pile of it, rounding off the corners and making it look like a big, sandy sort of hill. Glancing between his sand-hill, and Ty's magnificent sand castle, Levi frowned. Why doesn't mine look as good as his? It certainly wasn't as big, but perhaps if he found something to decorate it with. "I'll be right back." Pushing himself to his feet, and running off a ways down the beach, Levi returned not long later, carrying a large piece of driftwood over his head. The boy skidded to a stop next to his sand-hill, jamming the driftwood in the top of it, and patting sand tightly around the base so it stuck upright, towering over Ty's sandcastle and reaching Levi's waist. "There! All finished."</div>

Only half paying attention to Levi, Ty continued to shape and pat his little castle, watching Levi struggle with his lumpy little sand pile next to him. He would feel bad, except food was on the line and he didn't have time to feel bad. After he won, he could help Levi make a nicer castle than his little ant hill.
Levi had run away to do whatever Levi did and Ty increased his pace, wanting to finish before he came back. However, the boy returned sooner than he had anticipated, and he brought a rather large piece of wood back with him. Stabbing the stick through his pile of sand, Ty sat back, staring uncertainly first at Levi and down at the sandcastle. Did decorations count for height? They hadn't set rules before they started this.

Edging his leg out, Ty poked at the piece of wood with his foot until it toppled to the side, stuck between wanting to stand and wanting to fall. "It doesn't look finished to me, I don't know what you're talking about." Putting his arms back behind him, he settled his weight on them so he could squint up at Levi, a half-smile on his face. He was almost ... having fun.

<div align=center>Levi's face fell as Tyberius jabbed at his sand-hill, the piece of wood toppling sideways and a wall of the hill crumbling, and falling off. "That was cheating!" He whined, hunching his shoulders and pouting heavily. His little sand hill was slowly collapsing, "you're so mean! All the time I spent on it, as well!" He placed his hands on his hips, trying hard to keep his grumpy demeanor and keep the smile away from his face. He wasn't really all that upset about it, but Ty wasn't allowed to cheat. However, squashing Tyberius' little sandcastle would very likely end in Levi being thrown back into the sea again.

A little smile flickered up on the boy's face, it was so strange to see Tyberius smile, even just the little half-one that was there right now. It suited him.I knew he wasn't so bad. The boy's tail flicked back and forth, the soft, purple skin of it glinting in the sunlight. A soft thud caught his attention, and when the demon glanced down, his eyes were met with the ruins of his little sand hill, and the piece of driftwood now lay on it's side in the sand next to it. "Look what you did."</div>

"Oh? And what are you going to do about it?" His foot twitched back and forth lazily, enjoying Levi's small tantrum. He didn't look like he was truly mad, and it was fun to see. "You certainly could have made it look like you spent time on it at least. I thought it was an anthill. Oh well." The piece of driftwood that Levi had viciously stabbed through his anthill had finally toppled over, and Ty's smile disappeared once again. This time, his face was solemn as he thought. "Well. I suppose it can't be helped."

The leg that destroyed the other sandcastle swept over his own carefully made little walls. Thankfully, he hadn't finished it, nor had he spent enough time to have it mean anything to him. He nudged at the delicate walls until they crumbled under him. Spreading the sand back out across the area, he switched his weight to one arm as he used the other to pat the back of his neck. His skin was hot back there, and he knew it was going to be an awesome burn.
"Alright, help me build a new one then. Here, you try building the base. You have to pat all the sides so they stay flat." Ty began the castle all over again, rebuilding with the crumbly remains. Thankfully, there was still something of a structure there, so it was easy enough to see where he was making his walls.

<div align=center>"It was a magnificent anthill." Levi retorted, standing straight and saluting at his fallen sand hill, as if it were a soldier that had fallen in battle. Levi, of course, could feel the sun on his back. He was very much used to the heat, but not sunlight. He hadn't realized it would burn him, the demon didn't quite understand that light could burn you. There was an odd sting in his skin, but he'd chosen to ignore it. Maybe that's just the seawater. Salt isn't good for me, after all. He'd likely feel it tomorrow, he didn't feel as though it was a good idea to ask Tyberius anymore questions.

Help me build a new one then. Levi jumped at that chance, desperate to prove that he very much could in fact build an excellent sand castle, and not an anthill this time. "Like this?" He asked, digging up a little pile of sand and patting it around the edges of the established base that Ty had made. Patting down the sides, and smoothing them out, Levi began to strengthen the foundations and make it so it could be built upon. "Is there an easier way of doing this?" He asked, looking up at the older man, "I feel like this isn't the easiest way to do this."</div>

Ty watched carefully, making sure Levi was doing it right. He seemed to be doing a good job, following the base that remained. "Yes, like that. You're good at this, after all." Holding off from helping for a moment, Ty just sat and watched Levi work, admiring the way he moved about. Shaking himself off, he jumped to help pat the sides down, furiously trying to expel any gay thoughts that may have tried to creep in. He quickly began a wall, and paused when Levi asked for an easier way.

"Well... There is, but we don't have the materials. You need a bucket and probably a spade to get things done faster. If we had a bucket, we could even make the castle stronger by getting the sand a bit wet." He had even seen buckets that had already been made to sand-castle shape. That wasn't as fun, though, just filling a bucket with wet sand and dumping it over to make the same castle over and over. Besides that, he couldn't think of any other ways to do this. "This way is long, but it's sort of fun, too. Especially if you have someone to do it with."

<div align=center>A little grin crept onto the demon's features when told he was good at this, revealing the set of little fangs in his mouth. They glinted mischievously in the sunlight as he smiled, his dark eyes settling on Tyberius' nearly-white ones. "What can I say?" He purred, "I'm awfully good with my hands." A trail of laughter followed his sentence. The incubus paused for a moment, realizing that what he'd just said probably sounded more than a little bit inappropriate. He frowned to himself, doesn't have to be gay though. Sure doesn't have to be gay unless he makes it gay.

Banishing the thoughts, and focusing back on the task at hand, Levi's interest was peaked when Tyberius started talking about buckets and spades. That made a lot of sense, really. Looking around at him, there were two kids playing about fifteen meters off, with what looked like exactly what Tyberius had described, a colourful plastic bucket and spade set, they'd already made some round, bucket-shaped sandcastles, and Levi frowned. "Look at that." He gestured over to the pair of children close to them, "I bet we can do much better than that, even without a bucket." He flashed Ty another small smile, he didn't care if they were only kids.</div>

Ty jumped a little at Levi's dirty joke, his mind immediately going to the sexual side of things. Tyberius squinted nervously at his little roommate, wondering if the gay joke was intentional. No, it couldn't have been. Levi was straight, 100% straight, just like him. Still a little nervous, Ty forced himself to believe that Levi was just ... Talking about sandcastles. Just sandcastles.
His attention redirected to the couple of kids, Ty stared at them, fiercely jealous of their beach set. They only had the cookie cutter castles going, though. The uniform little sandy mounds with holes and seashells poked into them for decoration.

"I bet we can, too. Either way, I want to take their beach toys." If he was going to make a habit of bringing Levi out to places like the beach, he would need more toys. He could already imagine how much nicer their castle would look with pretty, uniform towers and smooth rounded walls like that bucket would give them. "I want it. Go take it from them." He didn't think about whether the children might still need their bucket and spade; all he was thinking about was whether he needed it not. He didn't need need it, but he still wanted it.

<div align=center>I want it. Go take it from them. Levi's brow furrowed, wondering if the other man was serious. They were kids, surely he wasn't being serious about it? But the Tyberius he knew wasn't the kind of person that made jokes very frequently, Levi came to the conclusion in his head that he probably was being serious. Wow. Are you really gonna sink that low, demon? He wasn't sure why he was making a move to do what Tyberius had asked him to, but there was the little inkling in the back of his mind that he really wanted to impress his room mate for some completely unknown reason.

The boy let out a long, exasperated sigh. "Alright, alright." He hissed, glancing around nervously. "But if I do it, we have to run, okay?" He asked, no doubt they'd be chased and hunted down by parents if they didn't run away, and the incubus wasn't sure he could deal with that. Weren't there any stores at the edge of the beach where they could just buy a bucket and spade? Levi thought there was probably a shop somewhere, but he didn't really know where. "Wouldn't it be easier if I just went and bought one, isn't it... Y'know... Wrong to steal from children?" There was a hint of laughter in his tone as he spoke, however.</div>
