Mal took a breath as he stood outside the lawyer's office. To say he wasn't nervous was a lie. Although he wasn't in the law program in college, he thought he should take it. Law was actually his back-up in case Magical Studies didn't work out. And judging by his progress, he would need to fall back on Plan B really soon.

Not taking another moment, he opened the door and strode into the office. Inside is a very professional interior, but Mal can't expect anything less. Luckily he dressed to impress too. A navy blue two-piece suit over a white dress shirt and black dress shoes, a dark blue tie around his neck. Like usual, his eyepatch is securely fastened over his right eye.

He approaches the front desk and gives the receptionist a warm smile. "Hello, I am Attorney Dimaculangan's new apprentice. My name is Anomalis Fletcher." After a short pause and a quick scan through her notes, the secretary returns his warm smile with her own. "Nice to have you here, Mr. Fletcher. If you can just wait for the attorney to meet you." She gestures to a row of chairs along the wall, where Mal goes and takes a seat after thanking the secretary. Now, he waits.

"I'm sorry, but can't really help you with a restraining order. Both parties will have to agree to the contract, and by the looks of things, I don't think that's possible. Why don't you try the law offices across the street?"

Loisa nodded to the woman as she prepared to leave. The office day was ending, and she planned to close the office a bit early to make way for her new apprentice's training. Why, with the right amount of motivation and hard work, little Mal could become as great as her colleagues in the magical profession, if not greater.

Still, much had to be understood from Anomalis's point of view.

Loisa got up, shook her sleeves a bit, and approached the door to her office. It looked a bit too luxurious for a private office, full of shiny mahogany and carpet, but it was nothing some imitation angora rugs and illusion wood polish couldn't fake.

She opened the door and spotted her apprentice sitting on the end of the row of chairs outside. "Anomalis, good to see you again. Come in, come in, we've only got a few hours of daylight left. Rosetta," she added to her secretary. "You may leave early, just make sure you put the sign to Closed." She beckoned to Mal with a hand to follow her into the office.

Mal was sitting there for what seemed like ages before the door finally opened. A woman stepped out, but she didn't look professional enough to be the lawyer. Not to mention she passed by Mal without even a glance his way. Yup. Definitely not her.

Then the lawyer exited the room and spoke to him. Mal got to his feet, giving her a respectful nod. "I'm happy to be back." He said with a smile. The secretary was addressed before Mal followed Loisa into the office.

“Have a seat, have a seat.” Loisa gestured to one of the two chairs that sat in front of the hardwood desk. He desk had already been cleared right after the woman left the office, leaving the space between apprentice and mentor free.

“I know you’ve been looking for a mentor for some time,” she intoned, her unusually serious gaze piercing the spot between Mal’s eyes. “Sometimes people are honest about it, sometimes people aren’t. So tell me, as honestly as you can, what exactly do you need me to teach you? Why do you need a mentor right now? Don’t worry, these are very important questions.” Though she still looked pensive, an eyebrow was cocked up in amusement, nearly overshooting the top of her glasses.
