Almost instantaneously in response to Samael’s mother’s face making, Aiden shyly buried his face into the crook of Draven’s neck in an attempt to hide himself. He gave a whiney sound, shifting in Draven’s arms as his way of saying he was uncomfortable. After all, having woken up frightened to find himself in an unfamiliar place and being surrounded by unfamiliar voices and noises and scents would be a nightmare to any shy young child. His reaction easily earned a smile from Draven who continued to gently rub his back and gave Samael’s mother something of a sympathetic smile. Though, out of curiosity, Aiden did eventually turn his head to see Samael’s mother, the upset look on his face turning into a smile briefly and he gave a soft giggle, only for him to turn his head away from her a moment later, becoming shy once again as she approached. Draven on the other hand, found himself a bit confused and blushing slightly even when she placed a hand on his cheek. It was a strange sensation that has washed over him, almost as if he were being praised by his own mother and it was a sensation he had nearly forgotten about; it was almost alien to him.
Even though he knew Samael’s father meant well, he hadn’t ever really felt comfortable around the man and he had this sinking feeling the man didn’t like him much either. Samael’s statement of his father thinking him of as a rascal and his mother wanting to confront him in the kitchen both gave him a bad feeling. It wasn’t that he had anything personal against Samael’s father, after all he hardly talked to him, but that he was this way around all men similar to him; aggressive, tense, wary and overall uncomfortable and even a little flinch. This was all due to having grown up being both abused by his own father and watching him kill three people he cared loved. At the mention of having to explain things to Sameal’s father, Draven was instantly put off from the idea and hesitant to follow after Samael’s mother into the kitchen. Though, for Samael’s sake and to not seem weak, he put on a good show and gave the red head a small smile while grabbing for his hand with the one that had been rubbing at Aiden’s back. He did however, glance down at Aiden first, who gave a tired yawn before shifting himself into a comfortable position.
“I guess we should go then.†He said lowly to Samael, intertwining his fingers with his. He was going to need Samael by his side to get through a possible freak out from Samael’s father and besides, he missed being able to hold onto Samael and with a baby in his other arm, this was as good as he could do at the moment. His mother’s reaction as well as Samael’s own was more than welcomed and relieving but he had a feeling his father’s wouldn’t be. That would be very likely just due to thoughts of what his own father would do should this situation have come about. He shook his head of the idea, not wanting to think of the child in his arms as a bloody pulp like his first boyfriend, mother and sister wound up being at the mercy of his own father’s hands. He couldn’t help the guilt that came with the thought however, knowing most of that was unknown to Samael and that he had a lot he needed….wanted to confess to him. They had been together for about a month now and normally that was perfectly acceptable of a time frame to still have secrets to share with a boyfriend but he felt that Samael should know and that it was unfair he didn’t.
