"The meat you need." Was all that Attel said as he walked in behind the Wendigo, checking him out closely to make sure that he wasn't going to try anything. His eyes flashed over Claire every few seconds. He was overprotective and it was obvious. "She's not coming so you don't try to eat her, thinking she's a part of your meal." He wanted to make that clear, but it seemed that he was half listening.
Claire chuckled as the beast tried to find the knife, like it was some huge challenge. She waited though, ever so patiently for him to give it back. When the knife was in her hands, she stepped back a good 10 feet from the thing. It wasn't pleasant to be around someone that had just hurt you. "Shut up and stop worrying about it." She shooed him away too, as a groaning sigh came out of her. "It's like you shot me and then asked me to make sure I don't bleed to death." Claire huffed out as she sheathed her knife back. "I can take care of myself asshole." She moved back even more, an unappealing gaze on the Wendigo crossed her tired and worried face.
"And no, like I would let you get near me." Her gaze went on Attel. It sounded terrible, like a really bad plague that was going to ruin her entire body; but Claire would never seek out his help. That would just be inviting him in for another taste test. "Go with him. If you are still alive by the time I see you again, then maybe I'll allow you to watch me go through the pain you caused me." She spat at the ground, mostly because she felt a big sick in her stomach. It wasn't as if she trusted anyone except Attel, so the chances of this animal getting close to her was unlikely. She wouldn't allow him to stop her, as right after she was done her line, she sprinted out into the forest; gone into the rainy darkness in a matter of seconds.
After Claire was gone, Attel turned his walking to the left, slowly padding along as if feeding a hungry Wendigo was a slow process. "If you want your next meal then come, you murderer." The wolf was just glad that the little mini him was out of harm's way for now. "You will not talk about this with anyone else, or I will have your head too." During their walk to the location, Attel and Claire had mental conversations, as she had only stayed enough away to talk until the wolf had finally shooed her off.
This was the time that he was supposed to kill him. Attel was supposed to get rid of him, as Claire had instructed. She didn't want him alive, as of course, having someone that had tried to kill her roaming around the island didn't seem like the best option for anyone. Even through the commands of his only true ally, he couldn't. Attel understood the beast, and even though Claire had been hurt, he hoped that the food he had offered him would be enough for him to be reasonable for a while. Attel saw a lot of this Wendigo in Claire; more so in areas that Claire would never agree with him on.
Once they had exited from Attel's secret location, he kept silent, not wanting to interrupt the silence that was very much needed. Though, it didn't take long until he heard Claire's thoughts in his head. "It's set in for her." He nodded, unsure if the beast actually really cared about Claire at all. "It's up to you if you want to actually help her, I mean it would be much appreciated." Attel knew a lot of knowledge about Wendigos, but he wasn't an expert like this one was.
"I was supposed to kill you back there." He said after another pause of silence. "Claire wanted that, she wanted you to never exist." He wasn't going to go into the details, but it was mostly because the animal made her look weak and defenseless, which was something Claire couldn't deal with at all. "But I didn't see the reason to. Even though you eat people and destroy everything in your path, you showed Claire something that she hasn't seen in a long time." The fact that someone had truly challenged her was sickly a good enough reason to keep him alive and breathing.
When they returned to their hideout, the rain had made it more gray than normal. The rocks that Attel perched up on were soaked in water, but that was beside the point. Carved into a large rock formation, there was a den. Even now, over the roaring thunder that devoured many other sounds, he could hear Claire. She wasn't screaming in pain, though it hurt like a mother, it was mostly her yelling out for Attel as she really wanted something to comfort. Through all her pains, Attel was the only thing that could calm her down. The wolf patted into the dry area, shaking off for a second before he curled up behind Claire. A wince came out before she half turned and buried her face in his fur. That stopped though, as Attel said in her mind the unfortunate news. "He's still alive...." The pain was the only thing that kept her from seriously hurting Attel.
