He wasn't as excited as she had expected him to be, still she didn't let that ruin this moment. He was probably just overwhelmed by everything. That was fine, she was a little bit... too forward with how she expressed herself, so there was bound to be confusion. She really didn't think this through, but considering everything so far, this was going smoothly.
Taking a moment to think about what he said, she couldn't string together a clear answer since she never put much thought about why her mother refused to talk about him for years. "If you mean does she know I came here to find you, then yes! She was the one who directed me here too since she said it was the most likely place because it's quite similar to home.
"I don't really know why she never told me about you, and since I was... five, I think?" She put her wing to her chin in thought, attempting to remember the exact age. But it was so long ago, it was hard to recall. "When I was around that age, I just gave up since she would never tell me anything, and everyone else didn't want to help either... But, whatever the reason, she told me about you now, so her reasons for not telling me shouldn't matter so much anymore, right?
"Uhm..." She scratched the nape of her neck and thought some more. It wasn't hard for her to realize that she had weak reasoning, but can he blame her? A large part of her just wanted to be in his embrace for as long as she was able to. "So... what do I have to do to convince you I'm not lying?"
The girl was clearly afraid of blowing this chance to spend time with her father, and the nervous energy that started building up was taking over the excitement that filled her veins. It might have been for the best though, it allowed her to focus a little bit more on what she had to do, and that was to prove she was his daughter, no matter what.
