An Empty Table

Skye scanned the room just to make the dissapointing discovery that no one she knew were there yet. She sighed, and picked an empty round table near the back. She set down her lunch tray and stared at the food. She wasn't hungry enough to eat, so she got her notebook out and flipped a random page.

Countdown to my birthday...
30 days, 29 days, 28 days, 27 days,

She crossed out 27 days absent mindedly. Finding nothing better to do, she sat and waited hoping that someone would come sit with her.

Ara walked into the cafeteria, her red hair tied into a bun. But her hair was a complete mess, as if she hadn't taken enough time to tie it back properly. Ignoring the fact that about a million tiny strands of hair were in her face, she looked around the cafeteria. As expected, she saw no one that she knew. But she did see a girl in the back, sitting alone. Ara walked over to her, and smiled kindly.

"Hello there! I'm Ara... do you mind if I sit here with you?"

"Oh, hi!" Skye said, slightly startled the girl's sudden apperance. "Of coure, go ahead. I take it you're new here," she said because she didn't reconize her.

She closed her black and pink notebook and put it back in her backpack. The cheeseburger in front of her didn't exactly look appetizing, so she pushed it farther away.

Jacob looked around. All he saw was a few people he didn't want to talk to, and two girls sitting in the back of the room. 'Well, better there than most of the other places I see.' He thought. He went to the table and silently sat down. He ignored the girls and started eating his chicken sandwich.

Walks in. Looks around nervously and walks to the table at the back, hes sees that these girls look kind. So he asks 'Do you mind if i join?'

Ara smiled, and took a seat. "Yes, I'm new here... I'm guessing you're not." Her smile widened a little. She looked at the boy who had just sat down, and asked, "Hello! Why so quiet?"

"Do you mind if I join?"

The girl turned her head to look at the other boy who was standing there. She smiled once again. "I don't mind. I'm Ara. Pleased to meet you."

Kimarhi sat down, 'thanks a lot', he smilied. 'Im glad people are making me feel welcome here. He took his bag off his shoulder and pulled out a fruit salad. 'Want some?' offering some to everyone on the table.

Skye smiled at the two students who had just joined them. "Hi, I'm Skye. Nice to meet you guys," she said.

"Want some?"

"Sure, thanks," Skye replied. The fruit salad looked better than the cheeseburger for some reason, perhaps because it had onions, which she absolutley despised. She picked a piece of watermelon out of Kimarhi's salad.

'Your welcome' Kinarhi replies politly. 'Im Kimarhi by the way nice to meet you too.'
Kimarhi goes back to eating his salad.
