An apology

Anastasia totally missed the joke. No, she was pretty sure that Olivia was entirely serious, which was... well, a bit awkward. She was definitely not interested in anyone here, and the whole idea of girls walking around in maid outfits was... well, a bit uncomfortable for her. She wouldn't have called herself a prude, but the entire idea of a maid cafe seemed inherently sexual, and she wasn't very comfortable with that, even though everyone was fully clothed.

She looked a bit stiff and awkward, but Anastasia was always stiff and awkward, so it was hard to tell just how thrown off by the whole situation she was.

"I think I'll just... see what they have to eat." She muttered, staring at her menu despite having decided already.

"The tempura platter." She liked the idea of tempura. Even if she wasn't generally a big fan of the component parts, she enjoyed the satisfying crunch of the battery. It wasn't exactly the healthiest option, but she'd had poor experiences with sushi in the past and was in no hurry to repeat them. The part of Russia she'd lived in was far from the ocean, which made it's fresh fish... sketchy, to say the least.

"Unless you have other recommendations?" She hoped that Olivia didn't, because she thought it would be a bit rude to ignore - but at the same time, this was a place she was familiar with.

Ahh, well, at least there was that. The food was going to be good, but... well, everything else? She was already dreading the loss of her menu to hide behind. She was going to be out in the open whether she liked it or not.

She let out a tiny sigh, passing the menu back to the waitress. "The tempura platter please." She asked, looking a bit flustered, the red showing on her cheeks. She just wish Olivia would just... not. Not anything. Not flirt, not wink, not have dragged her into a place where everyone was dressed in a maid outfit.

Oh dear. Anastasia's face was rather red, and after a moment she decided there was no point in trying to pretend like she wasn't bothered by it. She was clearly flustered, and she couldn't tell if Olivia was actively messing with her, playing dumb, or actually missing the signs.

"So you are... a.." She paused, clearly trying to think of the english word. "A lesbi?" Close enough to get her meaning, even if she hadn't gotten the word quite right.

Why did she have to be so obvious about it? Anastasia was far from easily flustered, and even she was showing a bit of her embarrassment. Her cheeks flushed pink as she glanced around, hoping desperately that no one was going to notice. Of course they had, but there was nothing she could do about it.

"Please keep your voice down." She said, her tone pleading. It was too late - the damage was already done, and people were already looking. "I am not." Just in case Olivia thought she was. "Nor have I ever met one before now." Moments after she said it, she realized she'd made a mistake - she'd been raised by a gay person, she simply hadn't had any idea.
