The figure remained in the tree, looking down at the officer as he caught up. It would stop playing as he caught up, tilting its head at the persistent man.

"Get the hell down from there." Angelo snapped, skidding to a stop under the tree. Climbing the tree seemed pointless - the figure would simply teleport away, wasting his time. "Do you even realize what I'm saying?" Christ, he'd probably been sent to yell at someone who didn't speak a word of English.

The figure looked at the man in confusion for a moment before it laughed its creepy laugh again. "You're so loud. Why do you disturb my concert?" English?! It fucking spoke English the whole time! The voice was distorted, and seemed to match the laugh somehow.

Christ it was creepy. He scowled up at it, the irritation showing on his face. "Because you're breaking the law. If you understand what I'm saying, get down here." How ridiculous was the whole situation? Sometimes he wondered if it wouldn't have been easier to be a cop in New York. At least in New York everyone he was dealing with was a human being, not some kind of weird masked thing.

"Are you a new arrival on the island, or what?" Either that, or he was being intentionally obtuse.

The figure shrugged. "They like my playing." It told him as if he were the trespasser. The figure dangled its legs off the branch, letting them sway and move like a child.

There was no one there. Maybe in the figures imagination, or on some other plain, but ghosts - spirits and all that - didn't linger in graveyards like this. If they did, Angelo would have sent them off himself.

"Come down." He snapped again, pointing at the ground for emphasis. Still no answer on if he was new - the island was full of strange things, and this was just another one of them. A strange figure that could fly and teleport at will, but seemed to have only a basic level of intelligence or understanding of human customs.

((And in one line, my point in coming here is gone. Theres really no spirits? I played the song of healing XP))

"You didn't say ple~ease." The figure mocked in a sing-songy voice before drifting off the tree and onto the top of a cross-shaped gravestone. "There, I'm down. Now will you hear my concert?"

He crossed his arms as the figure floated down. He wasn't interested in a concert. He might have been another day (during the day, not in the middle of the night), but not right then, having been forced to play tag with the kid.

"If you want to play music, play it in the park during the day, not in the middle of the night in a graveyard. This place is off limits, and I'm on duty." It seemed to be understanding what he was saying, or at least understanding enough. It was just ignoring him, making him scowl all the more.
@Laetus - If there were, he'd feel 'em - he's a reaper after all

"The spirits are free to roam, are they not?" It asked, turning its back to him and shrugging.
"Why do humans place such pointless rules?"

Spirits were, as far as he could tell, not free to roam. Certainly some clung to life so barely they were not even there, but it they wanted to be counted as citizens, they had to obey the rules like everyone else.

"If you want the benefits of society, then you've got to follow the rules. That means things like not running around graveyards, scaring people and making them think someone's digging up bodies." It was a rude little shit, wasn't it?
