"Oh, you're one of the DCA students," he was curious now, that whole thing had really rocked the island. "Well, welcome to 2019," he'd scratch at his cheek. "As for being asleep for so long.....welllllll..we dragons are long lived beings, I'd be fine," he'd say with a chuckle.

He saw that grin, a smirked back at her, a playful, cocky smirk, that could have also been considered cute. "I assure you I am," he'd say, sticking his tongue out at her for a second, "beautiful blue hair, matching eyes," he was joking obviously, "plus them muscles on me." The clothes he currently wore didn't show them, but he was very muscular for someone his age.

The dragon would poke at the wine bottle with his foot. "Mind if I have some now?" he was curious now, he was guessing it wasn't as strong as the first alcoholic drink he tried.

Chris laughed and brought up the wine, taking a sip before offering some to the cocky dragon guy, who'd asked her for some. "Congratulations, you're not a Cyclops." He'd stuck his tongue out, like a little kid. She could see some of the outline of his musculature, but that didn't faze her any - she'd seen the same thing in pretty much most of her flock back home and here at the Academy. "And a couple of muscles. Mhm, sure. Oh, and the wine is realy light so don't expect to get drunk too fast. That's for carrying around." She attempted a grin. "I keep the good stuff at home. Or, actually, at dorm."

Speaking of the Academy. "Uh, thanks. It's weird. You'd be fine, but you'd look like a dumpster. I did. Or some sort of like... wilted moss, or something."

He took a sip of the wine, it was ok, he wasn't really sure what he'd been expecting from it. "You managed to get ahold of it awfully fast," he'd say, actually a little curious about it, "hasn't been that long since everyone from DCA was unfrozen." Age could be funny on the island, but she looked around his age, to young to buy legally.

"I'd probably fare better if I did the big sleep in my dragon form," he'd say, putting the cap back on the wine. "Hard dragon scales would probably deal with the elements better, though not sure how the fur and feathers I've been growing would handle it."

Seemed like she was calming down, he could sense her emotions easing down a little. "Whatcha think of everything? You woke up at an interesting time?" so much was happening now.

"I've got my ways," she shrugged, taking off the top and taking a sip of the wine right after Eein. "It's not been that long, but give a girl a motive and she'll be right on it." Putting it back near her feet, she continued. "Hmmm.... maybe. Your fur and feathers would smell horrible, though. Mildew and everything. Luckily they've got extra-strength shampoo in the future. Gods, again, it's so weird..."

Like the fact that she was still sitting in the forest drinking with some dude when this was meant to be a one-woman party. That was kinda weird. But it was also kinda nice, too.

"Yeah.....feathers getting like that might mess with my flying," he'd admit, "last thing we need is a dragon crashing into everything," he'd say the last thing a bit jokingly. He was kinda curious if he'd do well sleeping that long, he'd heard of some dragons being able to go dormant for a long time and being fine.

The dragon would look at her. "You know.....if you need help adjusting I could help," he'd say with a shrug. "Everything's changing so fast now, the island's changing, magic's changing, no one really knows what's happening anymore."

He'd ask for another drink, taking a sip of the wine if she said yes. "So yeah...I'm around if you need help," he'd shrug, "usually here in the woods, or at work...which also happens to be next to the woods."

"'Zactly. When I woke up, my fur smelled like I had jumped in cow dung about twenty times, then rolled in a field. Falling out and everything. It's the worst feeling. But you've got scales, which I guess hold up to a lot of water or air damage. Lucky ass." Though the thought of Eein as a dragon struggling to fly had her snickering. Usually she wouldn't have been snickering as much, but the wine was getting to her a bit. Whatever. Call it schadenfreude. Which, of course, was cut off by Eein himself.

He'd offered to help. Sweet of him. Shame she didn't need help. Or that's what she told herself. And him.

"I don't need help, Eein," she shrugged, taking another, longer swig from the bottle. "I've been through this like twice. I know what to expect. I'm just saying it's weird walking around and people having electric watches and electric cars and stuff. It's not natural, but when is anything ever natural?" Tiny purple anemony flowers popped up like daisies in her messy braided hair. She paid them no mind, or didn't seem to. Instead, she offered more wine to Eein, who took a nice sip, then took a bigger swig than any of the ones before.

"Whatcha snickering at?" he'd ask with a smirk. "The thought of me waking up like that? Or me crashing or something?" he'd ask with a chuckle. "So cruel, we just met and you're already laughing at my potential hardships," he was obviously joking, it could be heard in his voice.

He'd take another sip of the wine, he was picking up her emotions again, sad hopeless emotions. He made a mental note to look into whatever this was.

Then he noticed the flower and he'd give it a gentle poke. "Looks like you got a little piece of nature poking out there," he'd tilt his head curiously. "Does that happen often?"

"That's my trademark, buddy." She shot him a rueful smile. It was unclear whether that was a response to his first or second question. It might have been both, actually. Chris thought herself a bit clever. She cleared it up a bit, though: "I'm just joking around, y'know. Though I am a fan of that giant German word when you laugh at others' pain. I can't remember it right now. Promise you can laugh at me when I fuck up," she conceded, jabbing at his side with her elbow playfully. As she did this, her braid swung into view, as did the purple flowers.

Sighing, she picked a few of them out of her hair, shaking her head. "It happens when I feel stuff. Nature and I kinda have a love/hate relationship, and every time I think I'm safe it fucks me up. No big, I just have to pick flowers out of my hair. Don't hog all the wine."

He'd chuckle when she elbowed him. "Oh I'll definitely hold you to that promise," he'd say with a smirk. "Nothing more epic than the growley laugh of an amused dragon," though the laugh was only growley when he was in dragon form.

"Picking flowers out of your hair doesn't sound so bad," he'd gently pull the flower from her hair, sniffing it. "Smells nice, at least this way you never have to use perfume," he'd say with a small smile.

"That said....why the hate part?" he'd tilt his head, "did nature cause your big naps?" He knew fauns usuall had a big connection to nature, though it wasn't hard to tell th hat she wasn't a normal faun.

"Good. Do it." She laughed her own sharp little laugh. "I'd like to hear you laughing when you've got a knuckle sandwich in your mouth." Another nudge. This time he complimented her flowers, gently pulling one out of her braid, and the corners of her mouth upturned in a show of pride. When he pulled it, a long, thin strand of green came with it. The stem wasn't really too floppy - as soon as Eein held it close, the stem stiffened and held. It was a real-deal flower. Except that Chris had hissed in surprise, touching the part of her head where the hair had come out. "Ow. Ask before you do that, dumb-dumb." She made no move to grab the flower or to hit him, though; instead, she just shook her head. "See, stuff like this is why my relationship is love and hate. I can grow flowers in my hair, but if you pluck them they hurt a little. It's bullshit. Nature magic is the worst for that type of thing. I walked into a forest to escape some axe-wielding scientist, and I fell asleep for a couple thousand years."

Pause.
A sip of wine. Sigh.
"It's all cause of that one forest. If I had my horns unplated, I could have resisted it. But nope. Too late for that." All of this, in a nonchalant, plain tone.
