Erin sat calmly against a tree, enjoying the cool morning air. There had been a lot of strange events on the island lately, a lot of magic in the air. So the young dragon had decided to get a bit of distance from it all.

First he picked up the scent, by the scent he was guessing someone with animal traits, a centaur perhaps, either way he didn't give it much mind. Then he heard the footsteps, and he felt something in the back of his mind, distrust but not his own.

Yawning the dragon boy rise from where he sat, looking to the right with a sleepy look. He'd see a faun, and so he'd yawn and wave. "Sup?" @Ashes

It was just one of those days.

She'd had those kind of a lot lately. Those full-of-regrets, bitter-like-chlorophyll days when she couldn't separate herself from herself, the different from the same, the nature and her nature. Nothing felt right. It was like she'd been dropped into a completely different world where she hadn't existed at all.

Of course, to hell with thinking about that. That was the reason why she had the water bottle full to the brim with "grape juice". Wine-coloured droplets stained her lips pink and the smell of it was obvious as the faun stumbled through to the forest, catching her horns on some of the branches. Yanked them free. Kept walking, until she reached a little clearing. Which, to her total dismay, held another person. A blue-haired boy, around her age, looking around.

Distrust flared up in the pit of her chest, and immediately she went on guard. Not exactly on the offensive, but ready to be.

"...Sup."

He continued to sense distrust, but again it wasn't his, no it seemed to be coming from the faun. "What brings you out here?" he'd ask curiously, with a yawn as he tried to figure out the source of that feeling. "What brings you out here?" he'd ask, sitting in the fallen tree he'd just been napping against.

"Getting a little taste of nature?" he'd ask calmly and friendly like, plucking a fallen leaf from his hair. "The forest here is really nice, better preserved than a lot of the ones in the narrow reality."

His hands would go up and wipe the sleep from his eyes, trying to figure out that emotion he was somehow picking up. "I'm Eein."

He was curious about her - biiig fuckin alarm bells. He didn't look too dangerous. There as something up with him for sure, though - some trickity-trick that set off her unease. That might have just been the parallels she saw, though. He... he asked her twice? Three times, if you count him asking about getting a taste of nature.

That threw her off. Cautiously, tiredly, she lifted her head. "There's no place for a one-man party like a forest." She held up the bottle with the red liquid in it as an afterthought. He sounded friendly and calm. And she had to agree, the forest was kinda pretty. Not as good as the ones back home, but it'd do.

"Chris. Shove a butt."

He would tub the temples of his head, that feeling of distrust continuing to hit him, he'd then yawn and stretch, actually a bit cat like. "Yeah, you can only imagine the parties people throw out here," he remembered one in particular, one that still bothered him. "Holidays here so we'll be seeing lots of them."

The dragon would tilt his head. "'Shove a butt?'" he'd ask, having never heard someone say that before, then it'd hit him. "Ohhhh...," he'd scoot to the side, giving her room to sit on the log.

"Well....good to meetcha Chris," he'd say with a small smile that was still a little sleepy.

"Who wants to host a party when it's snowing? Seriously, that's the worst idea. Even if this clearing is rockin'." She took a sip of the pungent juice in the bottle and screwed the lid back on. "Bet it must be big in the summer, though. And obviously, it's a good place to lay down and contemplate your existence. If you're into that." Which she was definitely not.

She waited for the meaning to get across to the blue-haired guy - Eein, he said his name was - and plopped herself down next to him. So far, so relatively okay. "Ditto."

A moment of silence.

"Why are you here, anyway? Can't exactly sleep in the forest for long, unless you're me and manage to sleep for a few hundred years. But that was one time. Besides, you honestly look like you could pass out at any second. It's not a great look."

He'd chuckle, "that's what the magic heat stones and invisible cieling are for." His nose would twitch as it picked up the scent of the drink, definitely alcoholic, some sort of wine perhaps, either way it smelt strong indeed.

"Oh I'd say the forest is the best place to sleep," he'd say with a chuckle, "in fact I was napping here." He'd motion to the spot he'd been sitting. "I spend entire night out here sometimes, never out here for hundreds of years, but sometimes I prefer the woods to my own house."

The dragon would snort. "I'll have you know that I rock the half asleep, just woken up look," he'd say half jokingly, "I at the very least look cute with it."

Well, that was kinda convenient. Okay, so maybe you could sleep out in the forest. She wondered, only half-jokingly, if it would help with hangover rest. Speaking of, actually. Eein's nose crinkled at the smell coming from her bottle, and she promptly shut it. "I guess it'd be taboo to offer you some grape juice?" she asked, a joking lilt to her voice. "No worries. It's for me, anyway, so just ask if you want some." Glass bottle thumped on soft grass.

"I get that," she replied, sighing. "Houses are just kinda... empty, you know? Kinda overrated if you ask me. Why sleep in a giant box when you've got a bigger giant box outside?" She glanced at the spot Eein pointed out - there was a slight dip in the grass, but not much else. She grinned. "You shoulda seen when I woke up the first time. The ground under me was yellow. You should try sleeping for a hundred years. It does wonders for the sleep cycle."

And, as an afterthought to herself, "And the world you live in disappears."

She uncapped her wine and took a swig, shuddering as the sweet poison slid down her throat. "I dunno. You certainly rock bed-head, but your eye crust could use some work."

"It does smell good," at least the fruity part of it did, he hadn't had enough alcohol to develop a taste for it. "Might have some in a bit," if it wasn't strong then there shouldn't be any harm in it, but he was still a little wary.

He'd chuckle. "I'm just comfortable here is all," the dragon would shrug, "I just like nature I guess." The suspicion he was picking up was weakening a little, but it was still there. "Bet you got to go a long time without sleep after a nap like that," he'd say when told about her long sleep.

The dragon would tilt his head. "I'm sorry, waking up to such a difficult world must be hard."

He'd snort, but would rub at his eyes, making sure there wasn't actually any crust. "Gotta be careful we dragons are proud creatures," he'd say with a chuckle, joking mostly, "we always like the way we look."

"Got it." She capped the thing and dropped it back into the grass, slumping into the log. Which was actually quite comfortable. "Man, this log is comfy. I haven't been out here in a while. I could just take a nap right here." Obviously not while she was talking to someone, that went without saying, but still. "Then again, I don't exactly need it, since I just froze for twelve years. Funny how that messed up my schedule that much...

But it's not like I'm the only one, now. Actually, our whole entire school's been through that. Kinda makes it justified, I guess. It's not that hard... things change a lot and it's frustrating. But at least it isn't a thousand years. I bet even you wouldn't look good waking up from a freeze that long." Poking fun at the dragon guy once again, she grinned. A cute, crooked kind of grin that just exuded "little shit" energy. "If you like the way you look, act like it, blue-head." It was clear that the words weren't meant to be sharp.
