"Amazing how I haven't been here before."

October was still laughing, continuing to make more snowballs to throw at Nikki. She hadn't had a snowball fight in quite a while, and this was the first one she'd had since the snow fell. Even if she didn't really know Nikki, she was glad to have met her. Anyone that was willing to play in the snow was good in her book.

"How old are you?"

"I just turned thirteen at the beginning of the month," the girl replied. She didn't bother moving out of the way of the snowball she had thrown, allowing it to hit her without complaint. "What about you?" She was sure the other female was quite a few years older than her, but it was still worth asking in her opinion. She threw a few more snowballs at her.

Nikki smiled as one snowball clouted her in the shoulder, ducking the others, and phasing through one that she couldn't avoid. "That's cool. My little brother just turned 14 on the 21st." she said, returning fire. "And I'm 17." she added, stooping to make some more snowballs.

"Have you been coming to SA for very long?" she asked as she got hit by another snow ball.

October nodded when Nikki told her the age of herself and her brother. "Cool, my sister's 17," she said. "Who's your brother? If you don't mind my asking." She started packing a few more snowballs. She wished she could make it snow... but unfortunately, that wasn't one of the talents that came along with her power. Her sister was able to do that, but not her. It wasn't fair, but oh well. She was having fun with just the snow on the ground anyway.

"Have you been coming to SA for very long?"

The girl shook her head, getting hit with a few more snowballs that she hadn't bothered to dodge. "Not really," she said. "Just a few months, since the around middle of September I believe. You?"

"Who's your brother?"

Nikki grinned lightly. "I don't mind. His name's Topher. He wrote to me a little while ago telling me he might have a gift..So my parents might send him here.. I don't know though. I don't read my parents letters." she shrugged, tossing one of the growing pile of snow balls at October.

"I've been here for a long time.. Since I was 14, I think.. I'd have to check.. Life starts to blur after a while.." Like after you think your best friend died... she added in her mind, looking down at the snowballs to cover for the sudden pain that lanced through her eyes. She focused on the one she was making for a moment.

October nodded her head. "Oh, cool," she said to the fact that her sibling might be coming to the school. "Did he say what gift he has, or no?" She hoped she wasn't asking too many questions, since she had a bad habit of doing that sometimes. She went silent for a while, throwing a few more snowballs at the older female.

She was about to throw another one when Nikki mentioned having been here since she was fourteen, but instead dropped it. "Whoa!! That's a long time!!" She knew she was stating the obvious, but she couldn't help it. It was another one of her habits. She noticed Nikki didn't seem as cheery for a moment, and paused in her snowball throwing and making, just looking at her to make sure she was alright. She didn't ask, though.

Nikki shook her head, schooling herself back into her happy mentality. "No, he didn't, Topher doesn't say much. It takes alot for him to focus...." she trailed off, wondering for a moment if that might have something to do with this gift, she shook her head again. It was possible, but she wouldn't know for sure until he told her himself.

She grinned. "Yeah, I guess it is. I never really thought about it." she threw another snow ball, hoping it would get October's mind off of her sudden drop and rise of happiness. She did it a lot, but she tried to cover it well. It wasn't that she was bi polar, just that sometimes her deep feelings showed through.

"No, he didn't, Topher doesn't say much. It takes alot for him to focus...."

October nodded her head upon hearing this. She laughed quietly when told that it took a lot for her brother to focus, though not in a rude way or the like. She'd just found it somewhat funny was all. She grabbed another snowball out of her little pile and threw it at Nikki, all of a sudden curious as to what her powers were. She'd have to ask.

She blinked upon noticing how quickly it had taken for her to become happy again. Not very long at all... for a moment, she wondered if Nikki had even had a moment where she didn't seem as happy. She was sure of it, though, and just decided that it wasn't really worth thinking or asking about. "So, what are your powers?" she asked.

Nikki phased through the snow ball, tossing another at October. She grinned when the younger girl asked what her powers were. "Well, Obviously, I can go through things. Sometimes I do it on purpose, other times I just go through things by accident." she chuckled.

"I actually have two, but the second one's easier done than said. Do something that no one else has ever been able to do that you can do..." she paused for a moment, before continueing, "Not with your powers." she added that in, since she couldn't copy powers, just physical stuff. Then she waited, watching to see what the other girl would do.

October smiled and nodded when Nikki mentioned the fact that she could go through things, sometimes purposely and other times not. "Yeah, that was obvious," she said with a quick laugh. "Is going through things fun?" She couldn't help but ask. She really needed to work on not asking so many questions all the time.

The girl tilted her head to the side somewhat upon hearing her second power. She was tempted to say 'huh?', but didn't, even though the look on her face plainly stated that she didn't understand. She shook her head though. "Awesome," she said, smiling widely. "I'm an ice elementalist myself."

"Is going through things fun?"

Nikki grinned and shrugged. "Sure. I don't really notice any more. It's definately interesting to get different reactions out of people." she tossed another snow ball at October.

"Ice Elementalist. That's cool. I wished that I had a cool power like that when I was younger. But I inherited my parents, so.." she paused, reading the other girls face for a moment, realizing that she'd confused her with the last part. "I'm sorry.. My other power, like I said, it hard to explain, but I'll try. Anything that can be physically learned, I can do after the first time I see it. Meaning, like, I never took Karate in my life, but I'm a black belt, after the first class I took." She paused, glancing up at the other girl again. "Does that make more sense?"
